Lovely video but that wouldn't deter the likes of us from making that move. You spoke about the long-term goal which would happen in 5 to 10 years. That's where I'm focused. Anything to escape from Nigeria is well worth it!!!
Well said☺️
@@nnekaezeanya. hi. Pls, I have a sister who read medical lab scientists. Pls, could you advise the website she needs in order to be able for to apply for a skilled migration. Honestly, if Nigeria can just fix the basics, there is nothing special about going to all these countries
as in
... Those countries have the basics sorted, that's what makes them special.
@@waleso6508 Exactly, nothing’s alright in Nigeria tbh
It's either you have never been in those countries because you have been you could know that there is a Very difference between them and Nigeria
How easy to deceive yourself. Settle in Canada and then compare with Nigeria
The most balanced Canada immigration video I have seen on RUclips.
I feel you have hit the nail on the head. Every point you made has been made many other vloggers recently.
You’ve said it all life is exactly the same in the West. No social life, too much taxes, discrimination, loneliness etc but people tend to stick it because where they are coming from has little or nothing to offer. I live and was born in UK 🇬🇧 grew up in Nigeria and came back at the age of 23 but have no intention spending the rest of my life here. All my goals and money is invested back home.
When you look at it, it’s all political and modern day slavery all these Western countries their own children are too lazy to work therefore they rely on immigrants then tax so heavily to maintain their own country and in a place like the UK those who are working are the ones providing for the unemployed. So imagine 40% deducted out of your income, your left with 60% then you pay all your bills before you know it you’re left with nothing and this is why people either work 2 jobs or overtime. My advice as I stated earlier work hard but don’t burn your bridges make sure you think into the future have investments back home, maintain contacts and try to go back regularly. You can live anywhere in Nigeria once you have the money remember living abroad is a great opportunity but don’t waste it just living a vicious cycle life. Make your money and go back and live like a king.
I’m tired of the uk too . I’m currently in Nigeria on a holiday and looking to start a business.
@@swiitdollplease dont rush to start a business. take your time, please, to plan. the environment is competitive, at least Lagos. Of course, people do very well in business here, just plan well.
We pay taxes in Nigeria.
It's unfair to paint Nigeria as not mature when it comes to money matters. Even grey collar jobs pay a form of tax or the other. PIT is up to 25%.
Please, 25% is not exactly little.
@@ask4jubad PIT is about 15% when u add pension deduction, it is about 20% total deductions

From a book I read.. “The Canadian passport is a great one to have as long as you don’t stay in Canada once you get it”….. So i say wait to get your citizenship if you can and then decide if you want to stay there permanently or move to greener pastures.
It is such a good idea! And I am going to do exactly this!
What book was it?
But once you have that passport (or the US passport).... They keep taxing you like crazy no matter where you go.

Nigerian TAX is very high too and Govt provides NOTHING so don't say we don't pay tax in Nigeria. i pay millions yearly in taxes right here in Nigeria.

Don't be scared but at least know that there is no easy life any where.
You don't have to be scare. Its all about planning and know why you want to immigrate.some People are actually living their dream life there.Ofcourse,Canada is not for everybody.
Taxes dont just pay for health care in Canada. They pay for infrastructure maintenance, schools, unemployment insurance, $10.00 a day subsidized daycare in my province, workers compensation if you get injured, free or subsidized services for the elderly, good public transportation, etc. Every country has its good and bad but because taxes are used to pay for many services in Canada and to maintain a social safety net for everybody, you have less desperation in the population, which leads to more safety and a lower crime rate. A win in my book.
@@euchariaezeudu4264 Thanks. Im amazed when people, especially Americans, dont make the correlation between poverty/no social safety net and high crime rates. I live in Montreal, I pay a lot of taxes, but in my twenties Id be downtown after a concert at 2am and not worry about being mugged or losing my life. I dont worry about my kids being killed when they leave the house. Desperate people do desperate things. Id rather pay taxes than live in a gated community because the poverty is extreme and theres senseless violence all around.
You just brought the other facts to the fore. I will rather have a working security system, good roads, safe society, good schools, good health care and cheap compare to the US than to pay 20% in Nigeria and end up dead while driving on the road and having to pay extra millions for my children to attend good private schools, hospital bills are growing like hell. I will rather pay the tax to get a functional system.
Susie X well said. I am sure that if those leaving Canda had positive mindset like yours, they will stay. It is interesting how some people are also migrating from the UK to Canada because they think they will be better off there financially.
You forget one important fact, immigration is increasing and the economy is not doing so dandy, what that means is those safety nets will get stretched and eventually lead to discomfort among Canadians and you know what that means. Immigrants expecially those from Africa need to start thinking of investment back home just in case. And also having an investment back home means you have incoming income even if you live in Canada.

Loneliness and depression is real. Find love is almost impossible ss they have a hook up culture. Best to marry before coming back home o.

Depression is what makes people come out and start shooting, it's what makes people start mingling and doing drugs..life here cuts you off from even the next door neighbor. People don't know who lives right next to them, that's how bad it is in the west..it's fvcked up o

Is it not better for you to work and get paid and take responsibility for yourself than staying home with your certificate not doing anything. The tax is the same everywhere in all the developed countries. Nigeria is not great because, people don't pay tax even those that are making the money.. After all the tax deductions in Canada, your 100 dollar that you sent home is more than minimum wage that a lot of people earn in Nigeria. Whoever that have the opportunity should explore.
Besides, without those taxes, Canada will just be like Nigeria, etc. Taxes generate revenue to run these oyibo countries, and make them beautiful. That's why we are all running to move there
Even in nigeria, we all pay income tax. With all the tax we pay in nigeria, where are the infrastructure? The least things are a very big deal here. No stable electricity, no water, bad roads everywhere, insecurity everywhere. School fees are over the roof. etc.
Taxes are a must in building and sustaining the country. In Kenya we pay 35% taxes and life is still hard because our leaders steal the money. If one can get the opportunity they should go. Work hard and help yourself. Grow yourself back home.
You've said it all. Elementary Schools there are free so your kids would have the opportunity of going to good schools that are far more better than schools here so just assume that those taxes were their fees and it's all good.... Relocating to Manitoba soonest cos our Visa process is almost done
Nigeria isn’t great because of the evil and vision less leaders
Nneka thanks for the swift explanation. One reason I intend to enter Canada is to have their passport, this is why, you get paid in the middle-east on the bases of your passport. If you already have a Canada passport or experience you can give Qatar a trial
You are true
When someone have a Canadian passport, you can use it in any of Gulf countries because I know several people that does it and they are living fine .....

Wow, sis you said it all, many think stepping foot in Canada they have made it.
Too much expectations leads to given up and the end result is them leaving.
Not only Canada, here in Scandinavian same thing they end up running up and down looking for free meals, by this I meant them looking for countries they can earn money with out them not working free money for government.
40% taxes you are not only paying health care, you are paying school which is free, Maintaining roads, fire fighters, police, nurses etc
The issue with Vancouver (and Canada) is this:
1.it has become so much expensive while the salaries are so-so
2. More and more people are becoming like robots
3. Talking to strangers is not normal!!! For me coming from Europe (Belgium), this is very strange!!!!
4. Public transport suck!!!! (It is only good enough for people who have never left Canada)
5. The healthcare service is better than the US but is a disaster when compared to Europe… and even to some African countries (I have worked in west Africa for the French goblin the past and believe me…. There u can have access to doctors on the spot.. no wait, no stupid triage systems!!)
6. If you have a kid with a special need (like a daughter of my colleague at work), a city like vanguard just 2 or ..3. Schools for special need children!!! My colleague told me both of those schools love money and quality services are far from their priority!!! But yes, Vancouver, a big city has just 2’of them!!’ How stupid is that!
7. Girls are interested for most of them!
8. People have been raised to get INDEBTED and they are taught to spend, SPEND and Spend!!! The whole North American system is based on debt and banks get rich out of people being in debt!!! I am such in a hurry to fly back to Europe!!!
Madam, Nneka biko. Where in Nigeria will you get such opportunities, short of you being connected to a politician or from a rich family? Come in, study for your exams and become a doctor, pharmacist, lawyer, architect, etc.
The winter is REAL. The loneliness is the true. The reward is priceless. You get to determine your future by your own efforts. Full disclosure; I've never lived in Canada, but I live in Houston, TX for decades. The experience is similar except for a friendlier weather.
please do you know any medical lab scientist in canada who can put my through on what exams to take so i can get licensed to work in canada
Well, I would change the title suffix from "Immigrant Perspective" to "My personal Perspective". Good video with a lot of good points, but it reeks of personal bias. You can't be in Canada with a Nigerian mindset and fit in and thrive. Guys, do your research before you move. Easier as a married/family person, but good thing is there are lots of provincial whatsapp groups that help Nigerians integrate easily. Lots of opportunities as well, which I can't say for Naija
Pls do you know any WhatsApp group for Manitoba?
Everything you said is true.
If Britain had succeeded in colonizing Nigeria, South Africa and Zimbabwe, those countries would be lonely and sad and depressing too - its British lifestyle and they bring it to whatever country they colonize (including Canada).
Excellent video... very soft spoken and slow spoken. Nice delivery!
Same applies to the U.S. We also pay taxes here so we are used to it. It is wrong to think it is okay not to pay taxes, especially in Nigeria. If takes were paid and applied correctly in Nigeria (taking out corruption) the country would be a better place. Especially for low income families.
Exactly!
Noone said it's OK not to pay taxes. It is OK. But almost half of your hard, hard, hard-earned money?
Please can you help me with Lagos address of were i can summit my passport as it requested by IRCC.
Hmmmm! Could you pls try n comment on the people that apply colleges with WASSCE results
Thank you my dear for your efforts. There is nothing wrong in immigration but it is becoming so embarrassing hearing ' moving from Nigeria to Canada'. We know things are bad, but for goodness sake, Canada is no heaven and a lot of pple in Nigeria are doing better than some pple in Canada or elsewhere. Caution is necessary lest we turn ourselves into second slavery.
@pryncess-abledbyGod it’s improving but it’s not that long in the news about violence against young people. So for young people who want to growb I don’t know how amazing it is.
I'm Canadian and I moved to France because Canada is hell for tradespeople like myself. In Canada you work 7 days a week for 12 hours per day for 24 days straight and you get 4 days rest. The salary is hourly and your employer is not required to give you work. So you don't get paid if you don't work. The climate is awfully cold and harsh as well. Furthermore, the job market is very competitive and it's hard to get a job. Meanwhile in France getting a job in the trades (construction) is very easy, the demand is high and the working conditions embarass Canada.
Embarrassing how?? Everyone
@@tobiscookingdiary When I moved to France I was shocked that people only worked about 35~40 hours per week and the workflow is so much slower compared to Canada. This is when I realized that Canada = hell. Nobody should work 12 hours per day, 7 days per week. But that's normal for Canadians who work in the trades. And nobody cares.
You are soooo right. Life in Africa is.... Well... real life. I hope we reach the point where we no longer dream of Canada, the US, Europe, or Australia.
And it’s all the same in all developed country about taxes and insurances it’s just in africa we are not used too , so before making a move better you understand how things work abroad
True be told, her narrative is quite similar to migrating to the UK. You must be ready to engage in the odd and harder jobs, and guess what, you might resort to going back to Nigeria at the end of the day. It is not easy. UK
Wow i love the intro, and nice vídeo

In 2005 I wrote a (somewhat) famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. I was ahead of my time. The government essentially made me unemployable in the country. So I left and moved to the United States until 2014. I now permanently live in the Philippines. I would never go back to Canada for any reason: not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. In the last ten (10) years Canada gone completely down the drain and is currently a North Korea style dictatorship. No freedom, too expensive, very high income tax . . . too depressing. I am happy here in Asia, with much friendlier people.

Please I would like to ask after applying for admission and the person is offered an admission letter, what's the duration given by the school for the individual to send the previous school official transcript to the university?
Depends on the school. Check with your school choice.
This is exactly like Jamaica. I'll stay in my country, not worth it.
I agree with you
Please what if you plan on starting a small business, do you have to pay so much tax?
No. In Ontario, i think you have to make more than 30,000$ annually before you can pay tax on your business.
Dear what is covered under health insurance of students? Will dental care or gynecology treatment be covered under that?
Child birth yes!
The level of coverage depends on what amount you are willing to pay. In all provinces except AB, you pay a certain amount for health insurance that covers doctors visit. Since gynecologist and dentists are specialists, the coverage may or may not cover these. Best to ask and find out what is included in your health insurance plan before you sign up as different plans are available in different provinces.

The problem is people coming to Canada from a countries who don't know what is hard work. So when they come here and face the hardship then they runaway back to their countries. There are so many immigrants who came here and doing a hard work and made their lives like myself. Today, I have everything which I need and living a comfortable life but I ma not a millionaire because becoming millionaire is not easy. The things I got here believe me I won't be able to get back at my home country. Now everywhere life is tough and jobs are not that easy to get.
Hard to believe, they move back home to do what?
It’s because people get bored. I’m British Nigerian and finishing my Msc in nursing. I’m bored of England and even want to move entirely outside Europe. I’ve also visited 10 countries in Europe. I’m bored

I find Vancouver to be hostile. Rent are expensive and overrated (I am in fact Belgian and grew up in France just to give you some context); buying a house is an “insult” (this is why I plan to buy in Europe instead as it is 2-3 times cheaper if I buy in some towns in France or Belgium) and many people in Vancouver seem to be unhappy and frustrated by where their lives has taken them! In regards to the girls here, I found them to be “nice” but in fact, they are just nice on the surface only (if I have to compare it to my experience of girls in France or Belgium). In Vancouver, most girls are very “money oriented” (yes and many of them date “sugar daddies but that is not known outside Canada, right?) and so many look for financial security in a partner than a sane relationship! I am not astonished to see why so many end up being unhappy, depressed suffering in their relationship and above all… end up being alone (and end up using dildos) and regretting their lives years later! After having lived in this place for 8 years (a place which I would leave behind soon hopefully as we are heading back to Europe soon), I am so glad to leave this place for good! Many relationships here are fake and superficial (compared to Europe) And it is a city where sooooo many girls (they pretend they are not) are sooo lonely.. now I am ni longer astonished why dildos sell so well!!! This is why so many (people and Vancouver girls) Here smoke pits and end up being depressed or having lots of mental disorders! Now on top of that, I hate their hospitals where you have to wait for everything (in Belgium that has never existed), and dislike those fake social interactions that many think it is worth something when in fact, it is just superficial-ness, illusion and coldness. I strong believe that Canada is “worth it” but providing that you are thinking of it as a place to pass by, not retire or immigrate for ever!
Just have a look at the Canadian healthcare system and how bad it is!

In Canada if u work hard, u will see d money. In Nigeria even when u work hard, for them to pay salary is wahala. Is there anything free in Nigeria? Abeg my people if u see opportunity to entert Canada, abeg enter ooo.. without looking back.
I have made my research and realised that only poor people or average people in Nigeria live abroad. Hence the kind of Nigerians u will be meeting day by day will leave u questioning urself if u guys actually went to thesame embassy for Visa. When u are okay in Nigeria u don't need to add taxes and bills to ur life. Las las I will go home one day, it's not just time. And to those who will be here forever. Goodluck.
You are right, most people that left Africa continent for white man countries to live there are poor and average Africans.
I'm from Nigeria living in Sydney Australia.
I'm a poor person while I was in Nigeria.
If I'm a well to do person back then in Nigeria I won't have traveled to white man country to live.
I will just travel to overseas for pleasure only.
You are right
I appreciate your efforts ma. But I still want to plead with those that have plans to see it through, experience how it feels to be in a decent and Morden society, thought it requires work but at the end of the day what the taxes are used for will be seen but here in Nigeria one politician is just stashing it for his personal benefit.
I will advise anyone to Japa but have plans on when you are reconsidering coming back home to tap back into opportunity here..
@ Akanbi, l couldn't agree with you more. You are one of the few people who see things differently in a positive way.
What about Victoria provence or city in canada what kind of weather do they have there?
Nicest climate in Canada
If you want a good life you must work for it.That is why there is no innovation in Africa(nigeria )because we like to relax in our parents house.Canand will provide you with security, good foods, free healthcare, good infrastructure, free education to some level etc of course with your tax.But in Nigeria the little tax you pay you don't see the effect. In all, be realistic about your goals and reasons for leaving and be focus.
huh.. not sure about the tax rates given here. i think it depends on the province you are
You’re probably right but it isn’t far off.
I'd like to know if you dont pay rent and other living expenses in Nigeria
Nigerians pay that but its a lot more affordable....
You’re so cool xx
So if immigrants leave at that rate, why Canadian govt shakara come plenty like this?
Canada is not doing shakara. They are only looking for highly skilled people and other categories of workers so they can get revenues to keep their country beautiful. This is business and not charity or father Christmas

Canada is a wonderful country but its way hyped more than its actually is. Cost of living is off the roof, people can't even afford to buy a house anymore, most who even buy are house poor, they work all day just to pay mortgage. Majority are living with insane debt, loneliness, cold, subtle racism. Most people just do survival jobs. Now I can list the many wonderful advantages of this beautiful country but it's already known. And Canadians are increasingly getting tired of immigrants and rise in immigration, that in the near future is gonna be another issue. People back home need to wake up and start working with those abroad to fix Nigeria instead of waiting for it to fix itself. Abroad don cast oh e no be like before
