My father who was a Harvard graduate (like Kissinger) said in the late 70's that Kissinger was an evil criminal. I wasn't quite sure what he meant and assumed it referred to Vietnam, but as I aged I learned that the scope of that statement was much broader than my first impression.

It's good that here you face the U.S. role in Chile's coup head on. It would have been better if the piece mentioned the context of the U.S. interventions that resulted in dictatorships all over Latin America, from Guatemala in 1954, Brazil in 1964, and dozens more. Chile may have been the most horrific, but it was not the only horror the U.S. engineered for our southern neighbors. This overthrowing of democracies was consistent US foreign policy. An exploration of the role of corporations in driving the installation of all these dictatorships friendly to U.S. interests, including U.S. owned copper companies in Chile’s case, is important too. I hope you will keep digging.

I was born in a totally Russified Kharkov. I grew up with this Twilight Zone situation where de jure there were Ukrainian classes in school, plenty of books in Ukrainian-even a Ukrainian Drama Theater- but de facto Ukrainian was considered a peasant language and people who dared to speak it were laughed at. When I speak about Chile I know who Allende was, who Victor Jara was. What do you know about Ukraine that you dismiss me without even knowing me from Adam? Go ahead darling- I'm listening.

The reason it's so strange is because the "right" is actually two ideologies which is Christian nationalism and neo-liberal capitalism and immigration policy is where they conflict. One wants to stop migration and the other wants to encourage it. So the Republican party has to kind of balance out these two conflicting goals.

While today. We continue to talk about 9/11/01. We need to educate the public. About previous terror attacks. Here's one more:
In 1914 marines walked in a bank in Port au prince., Haiti 🇭🇹 and stole their gold reserves., in turn invaded the country the following year. For 19 years, the natives were killed, tortured. Looted.....
In the 2001 terror attack, we were able to estimate. The death toll at approximately 3,000.
The number of Haitians killed in the 1915 Invasion, were most likely too much to tally....

No matter how you feel about that cause it shows that regardless of what administration is leading the US government the ruling class of the USA has consistently shown they have no respect for national sovereignty of any country, or the American people since research published by oxford shows that since the 1970's US laws and policies have little to no statistical correlation with the interests of the American people and strong concordance with the interests of the American ruling class.
The United States is based on the evidence not a democracy or even democratic republic it is an electoral oligarchy (plutocracy) where you can vote which face of the ruling class you get to see lie to the American public. The current economic crisis in the UK is indeed quite severe, which is why I strongly encourage anyone with savings starting from £50,000 and above to seek out a reputable financial advisor. Such advisors can guide them in finding better investment opportunities, such as stocks, forex, and other assets, which have the potential to be more profitable.

Why about the Ukrainian coup of course! I don't have 50 years- I don't have 2 years! I'm dying. In a year or so " the Ukrainian Ariel Dorfman " is gonna be dead. And I still don't know what happened to my mother- if she was killed by the CIA and the Gestapo/SBU or " just " driven to suicide like Pablo Neruda. I don't know if my friend Oleg Novikov whom Zelensky had disappeared in March of 2022 is still alive or if he was tortured to death.

OK, enough of this crap. In one of the " The Fast and the Furious " movies there is a rat torture and the majority of people would just assume that it was invented by the Mexican cartels and move on. Except that it wasn't. It was invented by Saenko- the Head of the Kharkov Cheka. In other words, DINA was using the torture method " gifted " to it by clan Krasnov...that the Bolsheviks used against Krasnov's own officers!!! Sorry, this is not anti Communism- this is BS. If Pinochet was a genuine anti Communist I'm Felix Dzerzhinsky!
