I much prefer this games combat to Baldur's Gate combat. Baldur's Gate felt like you had to limit yourself since most of your skills need to be recharged after so many uses.
@@Lunar_Buds710 Another thing is how you can play Divinity with only 1-2 characters with Lone Wolf perk. You gotta micro manage a minimum of 4 characters when you play BG3 solo. I can see how some people like that but all the inventory management and leveling up just pisses me off lol
Having 4 players is supposed to be more fun with more skill diversity bro. That's the perk rather than looking at it as micromgmt which really isn't all that once you get things up and running.
BG3 really has my interest but I’ve never played turn based or DnD. Saw this on sale on steam for $14 so I figured I’d give it a shot. Looks like tons of fun.
I got it to and just got fane and the red prince into my party. Im really liking the skills cool down. Instead of having to half rest full rest like in BG3.
@@user45563 I’m absolutely loving it. Put in about 8 hours. Lohse, red prince, and Ifan are my squad. Looking to add sebile. Thinking I’m going to just play this as bg3 is dice rolling and I don’t want to leave combat up to rgn
I made a comment 2 months ago saying " I'm going to get this on payday for sure. " well I did and - This is one of the best games I have ever played. It lacks BG3's cinematic cutscenes for obvious budget and technology based reasons but man does it make up for it with sheer fun and an incredible combat system. I actually rate the game 9/10 - it only loses a point because the devs made some of the fights so unfair on purpose lol, you basically end up cheesing using lava and teleport on purpose just to get it over with. My best advice for new players? - Have someone with Tornado to remove deathfog and take your time building your team / your character. You may scrape by with a bad build but once you get to Arx you are absolutely fvcked. Also take every single opportunity to earn experience - finish every quest possible, why? otherwise when you get to Arx your fvcked.
I completed my first playthrough blind and never had to use lava to cheese a win. There were a few really tough fights and had to load a few times but none of them were impossible. I'd agree with finishing every quest possible -- surely that's the fun of playing an RPG though, as well as being beneficial XP wise - I'll never understand people that want to rush through a game like D:OS2...
I see you ended up correcting your little mistake I pointed out in the original version of this video. Kudos to u for listening and caring about that feedback! Great video.
Just started playing on the Switch (physical copy) and the one thing that's off-putting is the camera angle/distance. It feels claustrophobic while walking around where enemies can engage you in battle before you can even see they're standing over the next mound.
ye just finished my 1st playthrough at 150 hours, definitely one of my GOAT games. Probably would have taken alot less time if I learned crafting, used consumables instead of just spells, and didnt do ALL the side quests I could find. Haven't really watched or played any BG3 or DOS before this. One thing is if something seems to difficult, there is likely a gimmick that makes things much simpler. Either figure it out yourself or look online if you need.
I'm new to strategy games and have mostly been playing things like XCOM 2, Gears Tactics and Warhammer 40K Chaos Gate; I know they're two different genres but how difficult of a transition is it to go from the above mentioned games to a CRPG?
Alright guys im here because ive beat baldur's gate 3 and now im looking for a game like it with the DnD style and gameplay. Is this game like baldur's gate 3 with the turn base combat and mechanics?
@@tijoike 2 months late, but, it's an action point (AP) based system rather than D&Ds system of a set amount of movement, an action, and a bonus action. Also there's no D20/dice rolling system. Moving, attacking, and using skills will cost you action points. Attacks will almost always hit (unless affected by debuffs like Blind) as will attack skills. There is also more interaction with ground "surfaces" like fire, poison, water, etc. All I'll say is if you liked BG3 I'd highly recommend it.
ONE THINS THAT BOTHERS ME AT FIRST PLAY THROUGH IS I ALWASY DID TOO MUCH DAMAGE TO MY SQUAD MEMBERS BY ACCIDENT AND EVEN KILLIED THEM SOMETIMES , WIZARD SKILLS ARE A LITTLE BIT TRICKY FOR ROOKIES
Not only is this game worth playing, but it also has years of amazing mods put together by the community, so you can literally tailor the game to your liking, everything from new character models to entire new skill systems to complex crafting systems. It's one of the best hidden gems of all time. Not so hidden now that BG3 is out and people are aware of Laurien's talent and skill, but a gem nonetheless.

Dos2 was the same way with source points.

It really needs a new game plus with previous build with harder mobs
this game worth playing even without playing the first? I'm on the switch so only have acess on the 2nd instalment
Yes, and its much better than the first, so enjoy it without a worry
Definitely
First game is ok, DOS2 is a good starting point though

Great video.
Yeah, I appreciated the feedback.
I just really want a remake/remaster of the original Divine Divinity for consoles 😭

Yes, pretty much. This game uses a different ruleset though. But it's a deep crpg with turn-based combat.
