Epic Games error 0xc000007b | (2024) FULL STEP BY STEP SOLUTION/FIX ✅

- Explanation:
1. Go to the place where you've installed launcher (usually c:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\)
2. Open the 'DirectXRedist' folder
3. Inside, there will be several .cab files (those are just simple archives), IGNORE the 'dxupdate' file
4. Open those .cab files and extract JUST the .dll files, and put the wherever you want (could be the Desktop).
5. Now put those .dll files that you extracted inside the folder where your launcher is located (usually c:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32\).
6. Launch the Epic Games Launcher.
IF METHOD ABOVE DIDN'T WORK, I have a 2nd solution:
1.Select the epic game launcher shortcut on desktop
2.Right click properties
3.In Target, add a space at the end after ......launcher.exe" put -OpenGL (so it would look like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win32\EpicGamesLauncher.exe" -OpenGL)

Changing the target to -OpenGL worked, but i am not able to download games. I can just open the launcher

I just recently got my pc and I've had this problem from the start and this was the closet I've got to fixing the problem cause it started updating the launcher but after it updated it went straight back to showing the error message you got at first. Download the 64 bit version of the DLL files from the video and copy them to the win64 folder. I think you have a 64 bit version of windows. It worked for me this way.

my epic games is installed in my D drive and so far, it had no problems until today, the file formats and locations are exactly the same as yours and i did everything YOU did. but it still wont workk evena fter reinstallation
sorry to hear, do you remember if you did any changes to the system or installing a core driver that may have conflicted with the epic games application to not be able to run it?

This worked at first and then after the update it gave the message again. Copying back to those folders did not work the second time

so i saw this video and i see in the comments that everyone got it to work through this method i have tried this getting it to work this way but when i finally did it seemed like it was going to work and then i was back to square one with all the steps done but the error popping back up again. any help would be greatly apreciated.

hey do you still have that problem? sometimes that can happen again and it goes back to square one, in that case you may have to reinstall the launcher and do the steps again. weird how Epic hasn't fixed this pretty common problem even now. I've switched to windows 11 and formatted the system so it would be a clean install and I didn't have any more problems with the epic launcher
@@BogdanAndreiRO thanks for the reply, i got the problem fixed in another way i ran process monitor when launching epic and just installed dll files where it was saying they should be and eventually it worked
