If they were to replicate the mainline voyager Primal’s leg transformation on this one, his ankle tilt would be severely limited like on the mainline. I’m fine with kibble and if they have to choose between articulation or cleanness I’ll take articulation so I’m fine with the feet in both modes.
That is very true mate, although sculpt wise I guess maybe they could alter it a little to allow for the articulation, I’m really not too sure 🤔
Also when It comes to a master peice of ROTB Primal there gonna a want his Ape mode to he Fully articulated aswell as his bit mode.
That means doing the legs in a way that they can pose as an Ape and as a robot.

Personally, I feel like the (seemingly) purposeful addition of animal kibble to the robot designs here is very in tune to the way some animal faces and appendages act as kibble for the original beast wars character designs, which I appreciate immensely even though it clashes with the film accuracy of this studio series line
Yeah that could also be the case. The robot design was very clean in the movie & in reality it would make sense for him to have beast parts visible in robot mode
I have no issue with a re-review. I totally understand wanting to redo something you're not happy with.

Primevsprime, did you see the images for the SS Scourge DNA Designs upgrade kit? That kit looks amazing and basically gives Scourge a fully movie accurate appearance without compromising the transformation. It almost feels like a completely different figure.

Hoping for an upgrade kit that refines the gorilla mode a little bit. And what i mostly want is a head with the mouth plate on cause thats what he looked the majority in the movie in bot mode.

Are you able to lock the white balance of your camera? Not a big issue but when watching on a projector in a dark room it's quite noticeable at times. I love your reviews

On my copy, I have to turn his beast head to either side in order to get this chest to close back up and click on place .

I didn't mind the feet, I brought it and til I saw ur video I didn't even know there was another version of the legs. The poses are limited but the Gorilla mode is Awesome!

Ngl this is much better review! And the new theme intro is wicked! This might sound like a horror movie but would you try doing a review on alien attack king of cavaliers optimus prime? Dw the transformation aint a nightmare but its very interesting how it works combining UT and TW figs. So far i only heard one very minor Q/C on the butt skirt armor where one snapped off

I love how this guy looks. I honestly don’t mind the legs because I’m really really happy we got a gorilla that can stand on two feet or all fours. Given that I love stop motion it’s hard with primals that can’t stand on two feet so I love that this can. And I can’t wait for this to release and I can get it it looks amazing

This guy just hit our target last month and for whatever reason they only ever have 1 at a time on their shelves and I lucked out the other day because I finally got him. I don't care for the animal, insects,or rock transformers but this guy looked so good in robot mode I HAD to have him,he goes perfectly side by side with Studio Series Rhinox. IF I hadn't been able to find this guy this year come Christmas I was going to buy myself the Yolo Park version which I still might just because it looks so much better. But I'm happy with this guy. Just need to get Rattle Trap, Scorponok, Cheetor, and Airrazor and I'm done with my movie setup

0:51 1998 Mega Class Transmetal Optimus Primal had a very similar conversion to this toy. In fact, this is just a much complex version of Transmetal Optimus Primal's conversion. (BWM-02 Skateboard Gorilla as well)

For me, nothing beats 1996 Mega Class Primal; it has just enough detail, just enough features/gimmicks, a simple enough transformation and looks so cool in both modes but this is a very close second.

Just got this guy. I am usually not a fan of beast mode transformers but Primal changed my mind. Awesome in both modes
Dunno if I'm late to posting this since I JUST got him, but you can store the chains on the pegs on the sides of the swords. There is a hole in the sides of the chains you can peg into the side of the hilt of the swords.
I didn't see the first review. How deep is the elbow bend? Is it 90 degrees or more than 90?
90 degree in both beast & robot mode mate 🤩

Did you retouch the paint? I have the same one but the colors are duller and the paint is overall less detailed. I’m taking into account your video lighting but I don’t think it would make that much of a difference.
i´m pretty sure dna will come up with an upgrade kit for the ape legs. you should also review their upcoming scourge upgrade kit. it´s amazing.
If you didn’t know the transwarp key can be stored in the chest like the matrix of leader ship

There are two pegs at the very top of his backpack that that you can plug the food chain into and post it so you don’t see it from the front
All you need to do to make it look more accurate to the film needs to take silver paint or a silver sharpie and paint or draw over the mouth area and I have two of these figures. I did it on one and not the other, and it looked so good, but I didn’t add it to the other one

It's a decent sculpt but I think the Takara Primal has it beast and it's a larger fig for roughly the same price.

It's pretty understandable that you didn't enjoy the quality of the original review and wanted to re-review the figure. I think this review is somewhat better than the original, except for the fact that it suffers from the problem that the 2020 studio series reviews had: only transformations from alt mode to robot mode despite the fact that all studio series figures are packaged in robot mode. Since I use your videos usually to learn the transformation, it's kind of a little problem, but the transformation is at least as simple as the other Maximals. Otherwise, great re-review.
The main reason why I did reshoot this video is that primal will be packaged in ape mode (surprisingly) and my original video showcased only the transformation from robot-ape 😅
Here's the transformation from robot mode to beast mode for who needs it:
Head/torso: pull the backpack out of its slots, pull out the torso, spin the heads 180°, flip down the beast mode head joint, close the torso, flip the upper backpack over so it's around his torso, flip the rear 180° before collapsing it over the robot mode waist, rotate the beast mode stomach before clipping it in.
Arms: flip the robot wrists 180°, pull out the inner forearms and tab it further up, pull out the outer arm, pull out everything collapsed in the outer arm, flip the outer arm 180° after temporarily flipping the beast wrists in the same direction, flip the beast wrists back to the original orientation, collapse both the new outer and inner arm over the robot hand, and pull out the beast mode fingers.
Legs: unpeg and pull out the shin guards, flip down the sides of the lower legs, slowly shift down the lower legs,.flip up the shin guards, flip down the knee guards, flip up the robot toes, flip up the robot feet, flip down the beast feet, and collapse the shins.
@@PrimeVsPrime What? Then again, this is Hasbro. This ain't the worst idea they've done. It was releasing a poor QC figure with nothing to explain the price, which was the same as this figure, earlier this year, that being a certain Scourge of the film. I've put a reverse transformation in the description for those who need it, but now I understand why you transformed him from beast tor robot mode.
Honestly, I don't really mind the ape feet on the back of the thighs, I just think it's a neat esthetic, although I will say that the robot legs on the back of the beast mode feet do look a lot worse, but at least you can pull off both an all fours or bipedal look if you want, and outside of the voyager mainline, no Optimus Primal has had a completely clean back of the legs, not even the masterpiece.
Honestly this guy is really good, though I still think rhinox is the best of the 4 and I don't know if he deserves to be a leader class.

I like to believe that optimus primals face plate on his head sculpt is a half covered face covering the massive nostrals from dirt that can come in

Not going to lie I was not excited for this figure but after getting him I really love it. This is the first figure in the line. In my opinion that is movie action figure worthy. I haven’t liked movie figures like this since the bumblebee movie.
The only thing that disappointed me was the chain because the alternating hinges makes it look awkward when in a swinging pose. But I find everything else is awesome to me and would definitely recommend

I also agree , in the movie primal should have taken out scourge… he killed his mentor Apelinq. Optimus should have closed up the portal against Unicron with help from Noah , primal should have taken our scourge.
