We sometimes say 'the best thing since sliced bread' but it sounds so much classier the way you say it, *James Arter Music* ! Great video, and much appreciated!
So can the play from marquee selection be used to record from marquee selection? As in if I record a bad take and immediately want to redo, just delete and hit R and it will start recording from the same place again?
Can you use it for a quick way to clip gain and adjust the wave form. To level out say a vocal I currently cut a section I want to add or take gain from, and then go over to the left and adjust gain but this is very long winded... is there a quicker way?
It is indeed, good call. To be honest, I find by just having it setup the way I do in the video, I’m rarely looking for any other tools anyway. That’s why it’s so useful.
@@JamesArterMusic Fair enough. That's why I love Logic, you can really set it up to suit your own personal workflow. I will definitely be using the marquee tool a lot more from now on, though!
Exactly! It’s very customisable. Try getting into the Marquee and see if you use the Right click to the tool pallet still. With those points selected in the preferences, it’ll also allow to make fades too. So you’re pretty much covered!

Also, yes, very useful!
How about changing the gain of a selection quickly with keycommands, like the ‘oldstyle’ kind of gain-riding... prior to using a compressor?
Thanks dude! I knew some of those tricks but not some others!!! Very useful video!

Why don't you have your tool pallet on right click? That's also a time saver.
