Between the time that I filmed this video and posted it @2krazyketos released a bacon jerky recipe video! ruclips.net/video/kU_xmjVkpzg/видео.html So if you needed a sign from God that you're supposed to make some bacon jerky, this is it! 😆 They used both an oven and a smoker method so if you don't have a dehydrator, check out their recipe! I'm going to be trying their sweet sriracha version for sure! 🤤🔥
If you want inexpensive mesh trays, all you have to do is buy a roll of window screen and cut it to size. I have an extra large 20 tray round dehydrator and that's what I did. Saved a ton of money and they work extremely well Success with egg white powder will depend on how good your blender is at getting it super fine. Vitamix seems to do the trick or bullet style attachment on a Ninja blender. I freeze them at least 24 hours in my deep freeze before blending. Egg whites worked well. I was not able to get egg yolks powdered as fine as I would like, but I don't have store-bought egg yolk powder to compare it to. The egg whites come out silky smooth though
I got the ten tray when it was released by Corsori. Almost bought the smaller one and so glad I waited. I used it for so many things. I don't have a proofer, so I put a pan of water on the bottom rack and proof my bread in it. I've been making bacon jerky for years and we love it. Can't wait to see how many other things you come up with. Thanks for sharing.
@@robertaclower5174 I put a pan of water on the bottom rack and then the dough on the next rack. I proof at anywhere from 95-115 depending on the type of bread. I'm lazy so I usually just do 100 degrees. Same amount of time as I would any other way but that moist heat really makes it rise. Cover with a dish towel.
Freezing the freshly dried egg whites before grinding into power is because it makes the dried egg whites more brittle and faster to turn into powder. It is the same thing that happens with glass or porcelain cookwares when cold and putting into a hot oven or vice versa
Wowzers... who knew!! I just put half a pound of bacon in my Cosori and gonna see how it goes... maybe a new way to roll... Thanks for sharing and blessings
I just used my dehydrator to proof. Works great. Egg powders are typically just one ingredient, but I find adding a little salt helps retain functionality when rehydrated.
Great choice, I love my Cosori dehydrator. To do egg powders I purchased the 6PCS Silicone Dehydrator Mats with Edge NonStick Square Dehydrator Trays for Cosori CP267-FD,High Temperature Resistance Reusable for Meat Vegetables Fruit Food from Amazon and they are wonderful and less messy. The plastic tray that came with my Cosori tends to buckle. Have fun with it. Miniature marshmallows for hot chocolate (for those who can have them), was fun to try.
I have been trying to convince myself to buy this very dehydrator after my last purchase of carnivore crisps. After watching your video I immediately ordered it. Very excited!
I received this same Cosori dehydrator today for Christmas. I'm really pleased with the packaging and apparent quality of the device. I'm looking forward to beef chips, proofing, fermenting, etc. in the future! It's also much quieter than I imagined, great!
I love my 10 tray Cosori Dehydrator. Highly recommend it. Im glad I didnt settle for the smaller one. I still have my Nesco 5 tray if I want to do small batches and will complement my Cosori
I just ordered my Cosori. I know nothing about dehydrating. Queston: Was that bacon done & did it last without molding? I love your channel. Thanks, Your subscriber.
Is it cooked though? I never thought about before. I've made beef jersey many times in my Ninja Foodie and then read that it's not actually cooked. But I don't see how it could not be its under heat for many hrs
@IndigoNili Please show on the label where it says it is precooked and ready to eat from the package . . The brand I buy is raw... and has safe handling instructions on its label. Not doubting yours is safe form the machine.... but not all pork in a store is precooked.
I love your channel you introduce new things all the time and I say wow I should have gotten that 1 I have a Excalibur it's a 5 sleeve but it doesn't do bacon Justice like that
I dried egg whites in my coloring. They did not work out well for your bread recipe. I couldn’t get that powdery consistency in my blender. That may have been the problem.
Nili!!! I’m an official stalker 😂 I have my egg whites going into my Casori because of you!! I had to do bacon a lot longer than what was called for in the book.. so excited for the egg whites as I’m the opposite of everyone… I use more yolks than whites.. you’re amazing! Love&light from California ❤❤
@@IndigoNili definitely worth the investment... especially now. We've done tons of meat n low carb veggies and lotsa eggs of course. Amazing when rehydrated. I'm still working out long term storage of keto flours, though, as fats are tricky to FD. Hubby has T2 diabetes after cancer healing but keto/low carb diet keeps all good without meds 😊🙏 love learning from your channel, thank you!
Did you see that Joe from 2KrazyKetos did a bacon jerky video the other day?? I am definitely doing this. My air fryer is also a dehydrator. I've already made beef like carnivore crisps with the thin cut steak at Costco. It is totally delicious. I've also made Mushroom Jerky. Interesting.
I do it all the time. Cook your chicken, then pull apart into pieces, however big you want them and dehydrate on 160 temp til crispy dry. Heidi at rain Country has a lot of videos about DH meat Hope this helps. :-)
According to Dr. Google, dehydrated bacon is not safe to eat. The temperature is not high enough to kill off pathogens nor parasites. While dehydrating meat makes it shelf-stable (can be safely stored without refrigeration) the USDA is pretty clear on the subject. When you dehydrate uncooked meat at home, pathogenic bacteria are likely to survive the lower temperatures of a dehydrator. In order to dehydrate the meat instead of baking it, the bacon goes into an oven or dehydrator at 130 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit for about six to eight hours. That’s within the danger zone for bacteria that cause food poisoning.
i am surprised that your machine has a recipe to dehydrate eggs. i was told that it is not safe and everything i’ve read says the same thing. the temp is too low to keep off salmonella. usda suggests atleast a temp of 165f minimum. idk if the freezing has anything ti do with that but it’s worth doing some research first
I DH eggs all the time. And really, do you eat the eggs raw? When you rehydrate the eggs and use in cooking, that kills off any samonalla. Heidi at Rain Country you tube has a lot of good videos about this and meats. Hope this helps. :-)
I’d love to have one but my kitchen is jus to small for it and I have so much on my counters now . I even have a real small air frier now that is instant pot 4 qt that is to small but no choice . Where do you all keep all these appliances in your home ?
It is lovely but pretty pricey. 250 dollars for the big one. For you and your family that probably is worth it...me not so much. Plus it is huge...no room.
Big mistake. I didn’t have your experience trying to make bacon jerky in my Excalibur. 😢 What a mess. I’ll never try it again. I had bacon grease everywhere. I didn’t test the inside temperature it must have been hotter than the dial said. I just sit it and went to bed… 😮

I have the 6 tray Cosori dehydrator and love it. I make my own meat chips. Pepperoni, pastrami and other thin sliced meat chips keep me happy.
Hey, I just bought mine to make meat chips. Is there a video you recommend for making meat chips you can share?

How do you proof in dehydrator? What temp do you use?

Bacon jerky seems like a win. With the way things are going, a dehydrater would be a huge asset.
Dehydrated tomatoes. Such a treat

FYI - I found the fruit leather trays on Temu - I have a 6 tray Vevor and the leather trays were slightly bigger - but worked really well.

I just got this dehydrator myself a week ago and have used it to prove bread and to make jerky and I love it
I have the 6 tray. Love my Cosori.
That looks amazing! I can't wait to see how the eggs work out.
oh wow, this is definitely on my wish list! More bacon is never a bad thing!

Woohoo! You'll love it! 🤩

Thank you for sharing ✅.
Excellent! I can hardly wait to try making some bacon jerky! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
I have the same one I use for many things. And I love how light it is!
EXCELLENT as always!! Thank You!
Many holiday blessings coming Your way!!

165F for 6 hours thick cut
We have the six tray one. Love it.
I just ordered the small one.
Looks so good. I think I need a dehydrator. I wonder if there will be any Black Friday sales on them? Thanks for the review and demo! 🦋💙🦋
Not sure but it'll be something I look for when Black Friday rolls around! I'm planning to do a round up of all my favorite deals 👍🏼
Thanks Nili!
Did you feel you needed to refrigerate it after you dehydrated it?
I have heard this is great!
Yummy can’t wait to make some
So how you liking this dehydrator after a year?
I have this one and love it ❤
I’d think the only way to make egg white powder would need a freeze dryer machine. If that can be done in a dehydrator, that would be a game changer.
Would love to try dehydrating bacon if I could afford 🥓😂. I love my 6 tray Corsori but it definitely takes me longer to dehydrate any meat.
Looks good maybe you can use it to proof the yeasted egg white bread in it too.
Is it cooked though? I never thought about before. I've made beef jersey many times in my Ninja Foodie and then read that it's not actually cooked. But I don't see how it could not be its under heat for many hrs
Bacon is already cooked during the curing process so no worries there... but even if it wasn't, 6 hours at 165 would be enough to cook it through 👍🏼
@IndigoNili

I can’t wait to see you dehydrate other meats and replicate your own version of carnivore crisps.
Not sure if I missed temperature set for bacon and how long.?? Anyone know? Thank u
Is this bacon a particular thickness when you bought it? It looks thicker?
Yummy!! ❤
I love your channel you introduce new things all the time and I say wow I should have gotten that 1 I have a Excalibur it's a 5 sleeve but it doesn't do bacon Justice like that
Did you rotate trays or pat down the bacon fat with a paper towel every 2 hour?
Can you get a coupon code for the cosori 10 tray food dehydrator please? Thanks Nina

Is there no way to bottle and vacuum seal It?
Nice review, I’ve been following your videos for several years. No notices from the last two though. Hmmm.
Hmmm... I thought that you had a freeze dryer , too... best powdered eggs/whites/yolks ever. Great video!
No, no freeze dryer here! Maybe one day though!

Can you dehydrate chicken in the cosori?

Add honey
You are going to have a blast using that big toy.
Ohhhhh

Dehydrate at 160 at least. That temp kills off the bacteria, etc.
Pity it doesn't have a drip tray
This does not look cooked through 🤨 IDK if I can dig it, lol😳
Definitely not cooked enough for my liking.
The next time you make your bacon try adding a drizzle of maple syrup on each slice it comes out like candy.
🤯🤤🤤🤤
Why egg white powder. You should eat the WHOLE EGG. Eggs are a super food. Very good for you.

I thought you could not dehydrate fat and bacon is all fat.
