AKs are good for CQB, that's about it. You can't shot shit with it beyond 75 meters. I could easily kill you with an AR between 100 to 500 meters away while you wouldn't be able to hit me at those distances with an AK. As for reliability, an AR is plenty reliable as long as you maintain it with a simple field cleaning kit. Of course, ignorant peasants from the USSR aren't smart enough to do that, so that's why the aren't issued anything more complicated than an AK. As for ARs not being war proven, you obviously haven't been keeping up with history or current news, have you?
You're right, AK was designed to be mainly an automatic rifle (full-auto is first position after safety), so for short-to-medium range fight. AR15 is the opposite : mainly a semi-auto rifle with optionnal full-auto (semi-auto in first position after safety). But not agree with your AK's accuracy vision : a good shooter can hit a man-sized target at about 300m with a 'good' AK without much effort (easier with the AR15, it's true, but not impossible with the AK, especially in 5.56 or 5.45).
MaximGhost By the way, where did you see that i said AR's are unreliable or not combat proven? they just require more cleaning than an AK to work flawlessly, that's all. And if you think AK's are only made for peasants, you won't gonna made a lot of friends, even in the US, since AK become more and more popular in this country!
Yeah, no need to lecture me. I live in the US and I own four AKs, five AR15s, an AR10, and a Tavor. The AK is fun as hell to shoot on a 50 meter range and ammo is way cheaper ... but, the AR15/M16 variant with a 18" or 20" barrel (and a good cleaning kit) is what I take into a war ... lets me shoot fuckers at up to 550 meters with open sights ... just like the Marine Corps showed me how to do. It all comes down to whether you want a Timex watch or a Rolex watch. As for my "Timex" watches, I own a WASR-10, an O-PAP, a Saiga, and an Arsenal. You?
Wow! i don't own such an armory like yours, anyway you seems to know what your talking about. Good to own both the AK and AR, so you can appreciate the advantages of both of them. @@ner12800bb3 Actually there was an AK47. It came in three variants, type one, type two, and type three. Then they improved the design for simplicity and ease of manufacturing, which gave birth to the AKM. The AK47 type rifles didn't live long before they were replaced.
Had warne QD on me rem700 PPS didn't like them, didn't see the point taking something off when I didn't need to. Thought of using multi point rings and run EOtech and Leupold !!!, dose this actuality work, or is it just complecating things
The AK-12 looks like Russia's answer to the M-4. It looks a lot more badass than the old AK. I have a modern AR that I love, but the AK is probably a more fearsome combat weapon that will keep you alive longer.
@elox02 Also your hand grip is it pointing to the ground or offset meaning pointing towards the trigger hand side because you'll find when you stretch out your hand your palm does not point vertically, it's off by 15degrees or so less strain in your muscles and more comfortable shooting
Have you used the m16 a2/a4, m4, ar15 in a combat situation? I have, In Afghanistan. Yes the m16 family shoots straighter and farther but i have experienced so many jams that I would rather have an AK any day of the week.
Hey, if you've been trough Nam, you were using the very first versions of the 16, and yes, they loved to jam. However, the reliability issue was solved completely on A2 already, not to mention M4.
@@vhfgamer sure does. The m16a4 likes to jam as well… sometimes even after a rigorous cleaning…. Let’s be honest. Everytime you clean an a4 it’s got to be rigorous.
I have a friend who's had one of this AKs jam when a pebble got in front of the bolt... Did you not about the north hollywood shootout? Let some mud get under the selector plate, see if it works. They have variants of both platforms chambered in .308... I doubt your experience with either platform judging by a few of your statements.
@ARAKBuilder I also got a manuel on how to operate/disassemble it. And I just realized you were talking about the actual gun magazine lol. I actually didn't try it yet. When I ordered it I bought a crap ton of other high quality magazines so the stock one is just sitting in my locker. I'll try it out next time I go though.
@elox02 Why not aimpoint there not as good or just preference, also check out mirror sites there is a brand out on the market that makes add ons so you can shoot around corners
Totally right. Saying that, the sacrifice made by Soviet (often unwilling) soldiers was huge. They forced a massive retreat by a confident German army and fought very hard to get to Berlin. Be wrong to underestimate their strength.
Iron house, have you used an M16 because i have. And they are front heavy as hell. No weight at the back but heavy at the front. Good for an Lmg but not an asault rifle. I also have used an AK-47, heavier yes. But the weight is more even, it doesnt jam, easy maintanance and great stopping power. I would prefer an AK any day.
-Very- well said. You -can- get under 2moa with some of them...heck my Remington 750 can get 1 1/4" groups with most factory ammo (though it is a tight gun that needs broken in and isn't a military gun) but you've made the point so many others have tried to make: The AR-15, M16, AK-47, 74, they're not lasers but they work when people attack you and have very light recoil, ammunition, and overall wear on the carrier.
It depends on what you want to do: An AR System is and is always going to be somewhat delicate because of its tight nature that gives you accuracy, but that is ok if you operate in a unit and have logistic support of a regular military, besides, you can carry twice as much ammo than the AK so the AR is a better weapon system for fire and manuver tactics. On the other hand AK's are very loose wich makes them reliable as all hell by sacrificing some accuracy which is better if you operate alone or behind enemy lines where there is no logistic support. l heard one guy saying "you maintain an AR to keep it working, but you maintain an AK only to make it last". Is also a better option for a marksman within assault weapons range (300 m) since it has the heavy hiting 7.62x39 that also goes easly through stuff and if you fight with a "make avery shot count" style those 300 or 600 rounds are more than enough to last a while. Now, there is always the debate about the two weapon systems but there are other modern weapons that take the best of both, lets mention the G36, Tavor, and Galil ACE in 5.56x45 as well as the Galil Ace in 7.62x39... Probably l would take the Galil ACE 7.62x39: it has Firepower, reliability and AR accuracy (big plus: it takes AK mags, so is good for battlefield pickups)
@elox02 Sorry I thought u were running holographic sight I think leupold have a good CQ mark4 optics, I've a bad experience with a second hand variable leupold, well I was stupid to buy a second hand scope without driving it first!!!
If I had a choice to choose between a AR-15 and the Ak-47 I would choose the Ak-47 for four reasons: 1. simple to clean and use 2.powerful 3. never jams up like the m-16 4. no matter if it gets in mud or rusted it will still shoot I don't see why people argue about which gun is better I personally prefer guns that are simple and accurate. The ak may be off with accuracy but with a hard hitting round I believe it will still mess you up pretty good.
I do have to agree that the G3 is probably a better gun than the M14...especially in it's PSG-1 setup, but so is the FAL. Both last way longer in terms of shots they'll handle before needing refurbished...the FAL is like the Western Whitie AK-47 magnum and the G3 was the CETME gun that came in second place when the Belgians wouldn't let them have the FAL plans. The CETME/G3 (especially PSG1) can be made into guns which set the gold standard for semi automatic weaponry for any kind of accuracy.
I'm guessing you're on your phone again. It would be better distance as it would fragment faster since it's lower velocity. Like why some people like Nosler Ballistic tops better for longer shots because it expands faster. Is that what you're saying?
From what I remember, you wanted to build a mk 12 mod 1. Know, what I was saying, is the reason they made the 5.45x39 is to get similar with the 5.56x45 because they preferred the performance of it. Also it does not act because well, it uses different weight, and powder amount. Still better than 7.62x39.
Define mid-range, because 300 meters is it's limited; that's really pushing it too. For a good shot at a long range would be 200 meters. The AK-47 was meant to be a cheap gun that could be deployed in a very short amount of time. This is driving me to my earlier point of not agreeing with placing the AK-47 as first. By the way, who are these people that you are referring too? Because so far, I haven't seen a mass confusion on the barrel moving.
@m4mihulja again, that was because in vietnam they were told they never had to clean the gun and weren't issued cleaning kits. The m16 that was 7.62x51 was the AR-10 not the AR-15. The AR design has gone through many changes and is now a VERY reliable weapon. Again, I haven't cleaned my bcm ar once and not a single jam.
Yes. Good indicator of the accuracy is the occasion when our peacekeepers totally beat US marines in a accuracy competition they held vs. their M16's. marines were pissed off their 5.56 wasn't so superior after all.

People forgett that russians have modern Ak rifles.....
the ak-47 is actually pretty accurate, just quite a bit of recoil
RIP Mikhail Kalashnikov QQ
No mosin nagant :c
With all due respect, it's not a great gun
lol mosins have been around for awhile though and hold their name well :p
+Bandos Likes Redbull the bolt system isn't the smoothest and its reliability is questionable
K to da J has problems with rimlock, stipper clips are trash, not as well made as mausers or enfields.
0:50 I had to stop watching there
“When western civilization shuts down, I want an AK-47”
just want to add - there was no such weapon as ak-"47" in Russia
When i checked last time our president was Putin, "Калашников - automatic rifle" - №47 never existed exept games. Here is every model of this rifle: АК, АКМ, АК74, АК74М, АКС74У, АК-101, АК-102, АК-103, АК-104, АК-105, АК-107, АК-108, АК-109, АК-9, AEK-971, АН-94, АК-12
There is no AK-47 in this list.
In USA AK-47 is a collective name for all AK models.
Alex Generalov AKM is AK-47 or just the AK i read it somewhere long ago i don't remember exactly now
Maybe in US, here in Russia there was never AK-47
@@ner12800bb3 Actually there was an AK47. It came in three variants, type one, type two, and type three. Then they improved the design for simplicity and ease of manufacturing, which gave birth to the AKM. The AK47 type rifles didn't live long before they were replaced.
MORE TANKS THAN GOD
Ak rules
Had warne QD on me rem700 PPS didn't like them, didn't see the point taking something off when I didn't need to. Thought of using multi point rings and run EOtech and Leupold !!!, dose this actuality work, or is it just complecating things
The Ak-47 was also used by American troops in night ops during Vietnam due to the distinct sound the rifle makes when on the move.
Ah glad this video is still here.
ye but geting some 1 in the u.s will be hard . how much would it cost to youse 1 on a range ?
Love the AK47. I have one with General Robert E Lee engraved on it along with CSA 👍
Now that's a cool firearm
The AK-12 looks like Russia's answer to the M-4. It looks a lot more badass than the old AK. I have a modern AR that I love, but the AK is probably a more fearsome combat weapon that will keep you alive longer.
Is the ak74u a sub-machine gun or an assault rifle?
well a live in scotland and i want to go to america just so i can shoot 1 > could i buy 1 and keep it in the u.s . semi automatic .
There should be a"TOP TEN" submachinegun,TOP TEN pistols and TOP TEN shotguns
@elox02 Also your hand grip is it pointing to the ground or offset meaning pointing towards the trigger hand side because you'll find when you stretch out your hand your palm does not point vertically, it's off by 15degrees or so less strain in your muscles and more comfortable shooting
Have you used the m16 a2/a4, m4, ar15 in a combat situation? I have, In Afghanistan. Yes the m16 family shoots straighter and farther but i have experienced so many jams that I would rather have an AK any day of the week.
Does anyone know where the source is for the clip at 8:02?
Hey, if you've been trough Nam, you were using the very first versions of the 16, and yes, they loved to jam. However, the reliability issue was solved completely on A2 already, not to mention M4.
The AR15/M16 design happily jams well into the 21st century.
@@vhfgamer sure does. The m16a4 likes to jam as well… sometimes even after a rigorous cleaning…. Let’s be honest. Everytime you clean an a4 it’s got to be rigorous.
Anyone notice that the clip they play at 5:07, those are actually vz 58s...
How much would one of those M14 rifles cost I wanted an SVT-40 but much rather have an M14.
I've read that rounds that when traveling under 2,000fps had a tendacy to break up, but these problems have been over come with bullets these days?
If you put a metal folding stick you can fire it from moving vehicles
You know its a good rifle when it can compete with weapons of the next century! The simpler the better!
Nice. I have an Aimpoint clone on mine. My old range shut down so I don't have a 500 yard range any more.
Care to name any internal similarity?
what's the name of this show again??
@ARAKBuilder I also got a manuel on how to operate/disassemble it. And I just realized you were talking about the actual gun magazine lol. I actually didn't try it yet. When I ordered it I bought a crap ton of other high quality magazines so the stock one is just sitting in my locker. I'll try it out next time I go though.
@elox02 Why not aimpoint there not as good or just preference, also check out mirror sites there is a brand out on the market that makes add ons so you can shoot around corners
:) I feel as if I need to confess that I read some of your comments and I find your mindset and knowledge very likeable.
I got ak-47 airsoft on ebay before my dad put airsoft ak-47 in trash
where can i find a video for the russian military drill? i need it for a project
"30 rounds of rock n roll" 😊
Totally right. Saying that, the sacrifice made by Soviet (often unwilling) soldiers was huge. They forced a massive retreat by a confident German army and fought very hard to get to Berlin. Be wrong to underestimate their strength.
Those guys that are thundering at 5:10 are chezhoslovakian soldiers with vz58 !!!!!
vz58 > ak47,akm,ak74 and copies from other countries :D
@st4r0y3 loose? we were loose in Vietnam?
@BandBullets rings where the top half has additional pica tinny rails on the actual rings so you can run a scope and aimpiont or eotech
It depends on what you want to do: An AR System is and is always going
to be somewhat delicate because of its tight nature that gives you
accuracy, but that is ok if you operate in a unit and have logistic
support of a regular military, besides, you can carry twice as much ammo
than the AK so the AR is a better weapon system for fire and manuver
tactics.
Wow... That makes so much sense dude. lol thank you.
@elox02 Sorry I thought u were running holographic sight I think leupold have a good CQ mark4 optics, I've a bad experience with a second hand variable leupold, well I was stupid to buy a second hand scope without driving it first!!!
wow i love learning new things online
If I had a choice to choose between a AR-15 and the Ak-47 I would choose the Ak-47 for four reasons:
1. simple to clean and use
2.powerful
3. never jams up like the m-16
4. no matter if it gets in mud or rusted it will still shoot
I don't see why people argue about which gun is better I personally prefer guns that are simple and accurate.
The CETME/G3 (especially PSG1) can be made into guns which set the gold standard for semi automatic weaponry for any kind of accuracy.
where is the SG550? I know its expensive but its awesome
is there an m 61 too?
I'm guessing you're on your phone again.
It would be better distance as it would fragment faster since it's lower velocity. Like why some people like Nosler Ballistic tops better for longer shots because it expands faster. Is that what you're saying?
Do you hold your glock sideways?
True as much as I love this rifle the M14 is one sexy rifle yet not as reliable.
