@FunEndeavors do u take special orders if they're prepaid? I'd buy an XL adult in these colors with the rusty colors thrown in and maybe oxblood or Burgundy
@@andybowlin2385 I do, but right now it is a little too cold for me to do this design since I dye this one outside. If I get a warm day soon, I'll make one and list it on my website.
LOVE the geod part, not so much the gravity dye part, but loved it once I saw it on the mannequin. Interesting to know that material combination dyes so well. The color combination works so great, really love it. Bill has an interesting idea about mixing the dyes. Thanks!!!
Since a geode tie is probably my favorite, of course I had wondered what it would look like when with a gravity technique when you started showing is that style. Now I get to see it. While watching the dye application to the geode portion a thought hit me; have you ever thought about taking a spoon full of several dye colors and instead of sprinkling the shirt, you actually just put it into a bowl and shake it all up together and then sprinkle the mixture of the colors onto the shirt? Oh wow! This turned out so much better than I could have imagined. This is a great look, I absolutely love it.
I'm glad you like it! I think it turned out really cool. I made a geode gravity shirt at the same time I made this hoodie and it turned out beautiful too. I really love this technique, and each one turns out so unique.
Thank you so much - I really love the way this one turned out! You're right - the dividing line does kind of look like teeth. I thought it looked like clothes pins.
Wowwwww, it looks fantastic! Those geodes are incredible, very detailed! I think the other side of the hoodie looks great too, because those geodes are so eye-catching, you need a spot for the eye to rest and not detract from the fantastic geodes. If there was too much pattern in the other side of the hoodie, I think it'd be overdone. Otherwise, it's perfect as it is. Well done!
Such a fantastic outcome and can I just say you have a wonderful voice for this kind of thing. This was so nicely paced, thorough and a pleasure to listen to and watch! Thank you for sharing!!
it looks really good. I like the white in the geode area. I love the color splits. I like the way the color streaks on the bottom but wish it was more defined. The blue sleeve is not very exciting and would be nice to see more color streaks there too.
Thank you! I turn it inside out to try to reduce the amount of speckling that can happen from undissolved dye. If you are new to tie dye, I have a tie dye blog that might be helpful to you. I try to answer some common tie dye questions there. I'm always open to blog post suggestions too. Here's a link to the blog: www.funendeavors.com/tie-dye-blog
idea! what if you did a reverse gravity with OWB. like pour hot water over it and let a side hang off just like this concept tho. i feel like that would be stellar
Mom jeans is still available for purchase as of today (It’s currently on the dharma site) but only as special order so you gotta buy like $80-$100 worth. I’m considering it though cuz mom jeans looks so cool as an ice dye

@@pattypatz1 No, most of my swatches are liquid ones. You might be able to find a swatch of it on the facebook group called "Tie Dye Supplies Marketplace" where they sell the special order colors in smaller quantities.
It's gorgeous! I can't wait to try this technique myself! Apart from it being labeled "women's" I don't see how the blank is any different from a men's or unisex hoodie. It seems a shame to me that your son thinks he couldn't wear it because of what the tag says 😄
Someone commented that her son tried one, and they do fit a little different than a men's hoodie. I personally haven't tried one on yet, but I think the sleeves and body are both probably a little shorter on a women's style.
This hoodies was 70% viscose, 16% cotton, 11% polyester and 3% elastane. Both the viscose and cotton dye very well on this hoodie. The polyester is the fuzzy part on the inside of the hoodie and it doesn't dye, and the elastane is the elastic part of the sleeves and hem.
I purchased mine in the store. However, it looks like they are available online. www.costco.com/buffalo-ladies-super-soft-hoodie-with-pocket.product.100834876.html
On the thicker hoodies, how long do you keep them on ice and 24 or 48 soak? I totally thank you... your one of my Mentors lol... Covid tie dyer. lol HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
It depends, this one was a gravity dye so I probably only waited about 24 hours after the ice melted before I rinsed it. I do my gravity dyes outside when it is warm, and if I leave them outside too long they will dry out. If I feel like it isn't warm enough outside and the hoodie needs to process longer, I will put it inside of a plastic container and bring it inside. If it is a hoodie that I am dyeing inside where it is warm, I usually wait about 48 hours after the ice melts to rinse it. Just make sure your color has gone all the way through to both sides of your hoodie. Hoodies really take a lot of ice and dye. It makes me happy to hear that I've been able to help on your tie dye journey. I love this art form and am so excited when others do too! Happy Holidays to you too!
@FunEndeavors thank you so much for your input... I'm doing it very close to how you do it. These thick hoodies are gonna make me out last my ice maker..... I always want saturation or (and I have) they look unfinished lol!! Again, Happy Holidays to YOU!!!
@@toddplager8676 I get it - it does take a lot of ice. For some of my gravity dyes, I freeze chunks of ice in old Cool Whip containers or another plastic container. The larger chunks melt slower and are easier to keep on top of the items. For this design though, any ice works since it is a muck dye.
That is a great idea!! ty you. I have a few almost ready to sit. I'm always nervous after the ice melts. I just hope the leftover dye, that does not dissolve, could contaminate the rest of the hoodie. lol Ty again Your awesome!! ❤
Thank you! They are sized for women, so I'm not sure. They aren't a cropped hoodie like some of the women's styles, but I'm not sure they would be long enough to fit a man.
My older son also wanted one of the Buffalo hoodies I’d dyed. I bought an XL (he wears L in men’s), but the shape/sizing just didn’t work very well. I think these are cut to fit women.
Best fan fold best geode best colors best hoodie ever. Thank you, Angie.
