    Thanksfor the video, Steve. Man, I haven't gotten chit done on my bike for several months. I've been doing so many other land-chore projects plus the super heat wave of triple digit heat has been a major factor whether I wanted to do any bike projects in my stinking hot garage. Okay, that's my excuse. Back in the day when I was in the Marine Corps we'd say excuses are like azz-holes, everybody's got one. Well that was mine 🤣 So, I finally got my 21" front wheel from MotoTeks (DNA), a pair of chrome fork lowers, plus some new cans to transform the looks of my RK. I've held off for years doing any mods so now I have all the necessary chit to make some mods. I'm using your vids as a guide to do these mods so if it doesn't turn out right, I'm calling you. Haha, just pulling yer chain. Thanks for all your informative vids.

I know Advanblack tells me it will not fit my bike because I have the hard mounted tour pack. Sometimes the companies don't know everything. Hey Steve, had to re-watch this as contemplating a change from air ride. I have the JNR, I ride a mix of solo and 2 up, I'm 180 and the girl is 165. My question is when you look at specs the standard duty would be fine for me and give a better ride but the high end range is to low for 2 up riding, you look at the HD spring then the low range is way to high for solo at 180 lbs. This is why I went air ride, I'm also short legged, so thought about doing the 12 inch instead of 13, but don't want to bottom out when 2 up. The air ride is fine for me solo but have to really air up when 2 up and in some instances, slow menuvers makes the bike feel unstable. Looking for an opinion on what you would suggest for the best shock in this situation. BTW got that new Biker Bar installed in the new trailer and love it! Thanks again for the video on that.

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers Месяц назад

      The bad thing about any adjustable shock is when you are switching back and forth between solo and 2 up it sucks you have to re adjust. Some shocks are easier than other to adjust but most require you to at the minimum, pull your bags off. With this canister system and having the 3 adjusters on top will make a huge difference in making changes quickly. Canister shocks are for cooling the fluids down when you are riding hard. But having that adjuster at the top is pretty cool. There really isnt much out there that makes adjusting shocks easy, or quick, unfortunately.

      I dont think you can with the FOX shocks becasue you have to move them back with a sepertly purchased bracket and the lines on these are pretty short. They go straight to the shock without a lot of slack. You could with the Ohlins though. Youll need a bracket like this www.ebay.com/itm/175398448975

    What about oil and symmetries according to the speed of compression and rebound. Might be overstepping the boundaries of such a fast paced video but people have questions. Also add valving ,are there different shims for the speed of oil that passes through the valve stack? Do they provide shims or spacers that allow for critical adjustment for different senerios of riding be it track or casual?
    Not putting you on the spot but if we're going to spend $$$$$$ on this it's worth the knowledge to give it a better understanding of the material your putting out.

    • @sikbaggers
      @sikbaggers 9 месяцев назад

      We're building a street-legal performance bagger here. These fox shocks have 3 settings for rebound and compression. Which is great for the target audience they were projecting would buy them. They are completely rebuildable and re-valvable as well.

      There are a lot of shocks out there for different styles of riding and bike builds. I preferred the fox on the performance bagger build but the Ohlins are one of the best since we cant get these now. But my other bikes have Dirty Air, air ride on them, front and rear...thats my preferred shock for cruising.

But honestly I have not seen any difference in performance or heat from running HD oil. The price for the amsoil is about 30 bucks per change higher also. I have ran SYN3 for years in these bikes and had zero issues so I may just switch back to that.
