Man, I remember getting this awful news during a very dark period in my life. I was only 16 at the time but I was going through my own personal hell, so hearing about this when it happened was just more depression stacked on top of depression. I grew up listening to The Beach Boys from early childhood and my mom was a mega fan, especially of Dennis. She bought Pacific Ocean Blue when it first came out, and it got a lot of play in our home. This was just awful news. If only he could have cleaned up and gotten on with his life.

Actually Glen Campbell took Brian Wilson’s place on touring. 6 months later Bruce Johnston replaced Campbell. Brian wanted Glen Campbell to fill in, because as a session guitarist, Campbell actually played guitar on all The Beach Boys records in the studio.
Dennis ex wanted dennis to put put to see,the brothers wanted to bury him with their father,even though their father was terrible to them,no dennis was not the one to get the band together,it was Brian.

Dennis was the heart and soul of the Beach Boys. Tragic that he drowned at 39. Might have furthered his solo career. RIP Dennis. 😢😿🥁🪘
