Yes, this was the third video I tried and this was the first to actually go through the mechanics. All the other "beginner guides" were about power levelling, not what I needed at all.
Thank you so much for this incredibly useful guide! I feel with most other tutorials the person expects you to know 99% of what's already happening. You are a legend ❤
I don't often comment on youtube videos but I just wanted to echo what everyone else has said. I started lvling carpenty recently and I followed a guide which gave me macros to use to quickly level with ishguard. I'm lvl 71 and honestly have no idea what any of the buttons do! I wanted to learn how to craft stuff myself for doing leve quests and all of the how to guides I looked at just provided macro's or spoke like I should already have a clue what's going on! I came to FF14 from WoW and only have experience with clicking the "craft" button. Your video on how to unsync instances was really helpful too, I had no idea you could do that! Thank and and I hope you keep making brilliant beginner content
6:50 - My problem was I accidentally removed the synthesis button, then when I tried to put it back I put the leather knife in the slot. So every time I tried to do the synthesis part it would say something like "Can't do that while crafting." I finally figured it out after a couple of hours, and this was a big help. It would have been more useful to actually show the button on screen while you use it; you do show the effects when you press it, but not actually pressing it. So when you use it so it's not obvious what you did. For most people it probably would be obvious, but given the way I was stuck the obvious would have been really helpful.
I gave thumbs up because it is helpful. Honestly, I got to level 18 on Blacksmith, and had zero clue what any of those other buttons did. I ONLY used the one single first button to craft. Kept leveling up, and getting more abilities to put on my hotbar, but never used any of them at all.
Thank you!! Just getting started in the game and I have always loved professions in other MMOs. Every other video on "beginners guides" failed to explain the very basics. Inst-sub!
good vid, I'd say later on do a mid leveling guide. Utilizing Beast Tribes or Custom deliviers(scrip stuff) or even a vid on basic rotation just for casuals needing to craft low level gear for new starting classes they pick up. (since things are simplified nowadays shouldnt be too hard)
I'm brand new to the game, only 2 days in and my problem is, all crafting guides start out telling you how to craft but not how to get the quest. Where do I get the crafting quests?
Based on that error message, I think you are trying to do a Beast Tribe crafting quest. If so, you need to have the facility buff active in order to craft the quest item. Read through your quest description and it might say who you need to talk to in order to reactivate the buff.
The gathering classes are Botanist, Miner and Fisher. They have their own mechanics and levels. Honestly they are pretty fun! You can do all of them on one character.
The real tutorial, all those others are just hot wind. I find that crafting more complex (higher durability) material, I find it's almost like a chess game, what I do based on the condition of that step. Could really use a tutorial on what skills to use, if not I'll master it and make my own in a few weeks lol
Check out the action panel when you are the crafting job. I think "P" on the keyboard brings it up. Other wise I think it is under the Character Menu then Actions.
As you are progressing the MSQ will give you gear and you will get drops from dungeons and such. You don't need to craft along the way but it will probably help fill in slots or keep you ahead of the curve as you go.
The only tutorial I've found that is actually for beginners, thank you!
I'm glad I could help!
True story, just hit lv 12 for the first time and this really helped 👍
Have fun crafting!
seriously, i sat thru 4 other videos before i found this gem

Says in 11 minutes what a number of other "beginner/ intro" guides fail to describe in 40+, very much appreciated-
I'm glad to help!

@@LucidFaith Im binging all your vids now haha...starting FF tomorrow xD
I've been looking for a beginner guide and nothing compares to this. Thanks for the epic content.

Thanks for the sub!
This was really useful, thank you good sir !
You are very welcome!
With all these great vids and guides did I just develop a bro-crush on Lucid??? Why yes. Yes I did!! I'm bowing to my sensei.
Thanks!
Thank you! Finally someone that goes into detail. All the others worry about leveling
I'm glad it helped!
VERY well made video. One of the better ff14 vids I've seen. Def subbing
I was really hesitant against craftsmanship but you made it look simple, thanks!
Of course! Have fun!
Looked through 5 video's and this was the fist to mention "Open your Crafting Log"
I'm old. Thank you for being so easy to understand 😂❤️❤️
Of course!
I'm having the hardest time finding videos on how to make BILLIONS! LoL. Yeah. Thanks, you helped me figure out my missing step. Very appreciated.
You're welcome!

I'll definitely look into that!
my go to guy for tutorials. subbed.
Thanks!
Once again you deliver a gem 💪🏾
Thank you!
Thank you , I'm thinking of buying the game because I love to craft and haven't tried this game yet .

You would be a Blacksmith level 70.

@@LucidFaith ty you for answer my question Welp I gotta start leveling it up
Of course. Good luck!
I like your style, subscribed
Thank you! Great explanation.
Glad you liked it!
I'm brand new to the game, only 2 days in and my problem is, all crafting guides start out telling you how to craft but not how to get the quest. Where do I get the crafting quests?
So that depends on the crafting job you want. I recommend Googling the crafter you want and looking to see where their guild is.
Thanks, I was just sitting here yelling at my crafting menu
I felt the same way the first time. The crafting system is cool but it can be rather complicated.
so when it says I am not using the proper facilities what do i do ?
Based on that error message, I think you are trying to do a Beast Tribe crafting quest. If so, you need to have the facility buff active in order to craft the quest item. Read through your quest description and it might say who you need to talk to in order to reactivate the buff.
you missed one part and the only part i came on RUclips for
What part do you need help with?
Oh my god thank you I could not find my crafting menu! The game doesn't tell you it's in your log book lmao
I'm glad I could help!
Very good thank you =)
Glad it helped!
thanks, it's a very helpful vídeo
I'm glad it was useful!
so are gathering like botanist just part of the trade?
The gathering classes are Botanist, Miner and Fisher. They have their own mechanics and levels. Honestly they are pretty fun! You can do all of them on one character.
@@LucidFaith where might i find the botanist guild?
The Botany Guild is located in Gridania (6, 8) and is headed by Fufucha
@@LucidFaith Thank you so much!

Brilliant thanks!
Of course!
Just used your friend code to sign up 😊
Thank you!
Very good ty :)
thankyou :)
You're welcome!
Great guide, but I'm still giving crafting a hard pass. It should not be this confusing to make things in game.
I have no actions, where are those at, I have nothing
Check out the action panel when you are the crafting job. I think "P" on the keyboard brings it up. Other wise I think it is under the Character Menu then Actions.
This was so helpful I could kiss you
Lol I appreciate the thought
Why would you ever craft normal quality, of High quality is better in all respects?
Sometimes you don't have the gear to craft the item at a HQ level. It can be hard to do.
there is no one good crafting class that make a difference at end game. food give me a break , buy it from the npc vendor problem solve.
I think it depends on the patch. Sometimes they add in new craftable gear & items that can make a huge difference.
Is this true? I want to level armourer and blacksmith but i dont want to waste time if im getting equally strong equipment as i play
As you are progressing the MSQ will give you gear and you will get drops from dungeons and such. You don't need to craft along the way but it will probably help fill in slots or keep you ahead of the curve as you go.
great video but WHY do people keep saying "Impor-ent" that T is ImporTant !
bugs my OCD k
Idk about everyone else but I'm terrible at pronunciation in general.
Definitely don't need to see you. Do voiceover
Thanks for the feedback
LucidFaith I prefer being able to see person talking, little easier to absorb the info imo.
Thanks for the input! It is nice to get opinions on both sides!
