I love that you have Norse Mythology book. I am Norse Pagan and was very suprised when you pulled that book out. My heart did a leap. I will definitely be purchasing these Charles Kovacs books. The Geometry books look like a better guide to shapes rather than public school explanation.
Thank you for all the new book ideas we are going to be ordering lots of books with our school now. I would love to know how you are doing the positive women role models study. We have also been doing something like this. I have 3 girls who need lots of amazing role models. I love that you are doing this for your daughter and sons.
Hi Shannon! The female role models picture books are amazing!! I'll be putting it together as a unit study in the spring along with some games and other books. The books are very inspiring and already my daughter wants to be a scientist, a scuba diver and a pilot after reading some of the books.
Pepper and Pine that sounds lovely. My oldest has requested to learn about a new female role model weekly and do some activities. What games are you using?
You want really get resources, and biography stuff that’s not boring about women look up history checks ,it’s a podcast and it’s really well done. I love that stuff I love history but this is one of the best resources I found. Most of their episodes are appropriate for all ages but I would double check, because there a couple notability . The Marie Antoinette, ones that are a little bit iffy.
Hi hannah! Do you get to keep all the educational materials or do you have to give them back to the school who gave you the money to buy them, at the end of the year?
Sam and Dave Dig a Hole is one of the most loved children’s books at our house! You should pick up Iggy Peck Architect and Ada Twist Scientist. Iggy and Ada are in Rosie’s class so the books are similar to Rosie Revere. They are tons of fun! (Iggy is our favorite!)
On that book titled “Geometry Lessons in the Waldorf School” (by Ernst Schuberth)it is “volume 2” for grades 4&5. I have looked EVERYWHERE trying to find “volume 1” and can’t even find it mentioned anywhere. Do you have any idea what the title of volume one is or where it can be purchased?
Hi Hana, where is the info for the document you created of all the books? There are some fantastic ones I will be on the hunt for over the coming year. Thanks for showing us these. It is so good to be able to get recommendations and see inside the books.
wow, so many great books! thanks for the shout out Hana! love ya and your obsession for books! this is so not going to help me being a wannabe minimalist! lol! so so AMAZING!
Any recommendations for picture books about inspirational male contributors to history or science with beautiful illustration? I have 3 daughters and one son so I am overloaded with everything female, but I would like to have some beautiful and inspiring picture books for my young son... there is a lot out there to sort through and I am stuck with buying my books online (we don’t have a library) so I can’t browse or flip through before buying. Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
So far I think only a couple of states offer that model of education, but as a lot of states have charter schools, I don't see why they couldn't do that too. What state are you in?
Hi Hana. I recently found you, and love your videos. Even though I do not have children, I love seeing the many books you have purchased for teaching your children. Also, thumbs up for home schooling your children
Good price for all those wonderful books! I'm from Oklahoma and I homeschool i have it made when it comes to laws here there prettys not one! I will be looking into these books I have heard of some of them from other homeschool parents
Pepper and Pine I don't have to have records nor do I have to report to anyone!its very nice! But I would have to say even though I don't have to do any of those things I still teach them for College!
Pepper and Pine if one of my children were in public school and I decided I wanted to homeschool all I would have to do is sign child out of school that's it!
Pepper and Pine would also like to add 180 days of school they have to exempt like I said no one to report to and alllllll the years I have done this no one has ever knocked on my door or called me needing any proof
I agree with your thoughts about the Who Is and Was and etc. Books. They are GREAT and just getting to the point which for some of my students is the best. I am a wordy person so I like more content but my son especially like just getting to the point.
Dorothy(my almost 2 yr old) got I dissent from a family member for Christmas. Clearly it was a little early but I’m excited to read it to the boys now! These are all such great books Hana! Making my list for when its time stock up again for me in the spring time! 😊 the geometry ones you shared are going at the top of the list! The Who was books are the same for us! To the point, easy enough for my 3rd grader to read, and fun enough for me to read it aloud. With My young ones they are a good fit!
The Who Was books along with the You Wouldn't want to be series are top notch educational books. Trade textbooks for those books and kids will love school!
My grandfather knew Eugenie Clark! He was a commercial fisherman in the area where she carried out most of her research. I bought the book for my youngest son for his birthday, but we haven't read it yet!
Aah, I completed this video in 4 sittings!!! It is so exhaustive, thanks a bunch for all the insight. Really helpful And now I'm just wondering how and where do you store your books, mannn you are a library yourself :) Forget about organization, pls share how do you manage to keep track of what to read when.
Oh my, I think I've reached our limit! Since these books all technically belong to the our charter school, if there are books we find out we don't like, we just returned them and another family can use them. So far I have a mix of organization tools, but honestly, I need to revisit our current organization!
Thanks for replying Hana :) For me, I just decluttered his old books & some books that I do not resonate to, Im supposed to sell them off in preloved kids items groups but honestly they are just sitting in a bag, Im so terrified at the thought of taking their pics & putting them up for sale ...it is so time consuming!
For the books about women you could turn it into a mini unit for your daughter when she gets older. It would suit her as you said in previous videos that she is territorial about her work.
Hi Hana, Is 4th & 6th grade to late to begin a Waldorf homeschool curriculum? Would teaching two children using a Waldorf curriculum be difficult? I'm enjoying your videos. You have a lot of information.
Hi Michelle, I don't think it's too late, but there may be an adjustment period. Also, it also depends on what you want to do long term. If you are only homeschooling for a year or two, it's easier to stick to something the kids are familiar with. Otherwise, yes! Do Waldorf :)
Michelle Channell...I had the same question...I was wondwring if you did switch to Waldorf with your kids and if so how it is going? I would love to switch but feel we're so entrenched in what we've done that I don't know how receptive my oldest would be at this age (I have a 7th grader, 6th grader, 3rd grader, and 3 year old). Thanks if you get a chance to respond!
Salam Hana, I don't know if you own or have heard of this book, but it may be good for a botany unit study or just to have in your collection, it's called "A Forest of Stories" by Rina Singh and Helen Cann.
another thing you can do with the dust covers is tape them on to the book with a couple pieces of scotch tape on either side :) Thanks for doing this! i went and added each picture book to an amazon list so we can check out/buy them
NativeBeautyxo Hana is traveling now so there might be a delay in her response. Jumping in hope you don’t mind. Some states in the U.S. (like California where Hana lives) provide funding to homeschooling families who are enrolled via a charter school. Hana has a video about the 3 types of funding available in California. Check her playlists
Here’s the link to the video I mentioned about homeschooling options in California ruclips.net/video/uDjJG5a0Sig/видео.html If you live in a different state in the U.S., your best way to find out funding options is to look at your state’s dept of education
Thank you Aisha for jumping in and answering this question. Yes, I was traveling ;) I know there are free public online schools like K-12 (I think), that can be used throughout the US, and brick and mortar charter school in several states, but as far as the unique model where you can receive the funding from the charter school to buy materials might be isolated to California. But I don't see why if can't be done in other states? It would be a lucrative business for sure!
Wow what a great book haul! I love being able to see inside of a book before I go ahead and buy it so this was very helpful. The two voice poetry books look really neat as well. Have you seen the book 'The Prairie That Nature Built'? I think you would love the illustrations! www.amazon.ca/Prairie-that-Nature-Built/dp/1584694920/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1514597598&sr=8-1&keywords=the+prairie+that+nature+built
Hi, Hana (from another Hana ;-D)! I was just curious to hear about how you incorporate religious beliefs into your Waldorf education. Are there certain things you look out for or avoid when choosing your Waldorf material, or do you explain differences in belief systems as you go along? Oh, and my son got The Antlered Ship as a Christmas gift. It is such a beautiful book and he really enjoyed the story :-)
Hi Hana! You are the second Hana I know who spells it that way (other than myself ;) We do teach all the faiths and spiritualities when they come up in the curriculum. We haven't done anything formally with the Jewish heritage yet in school, but we do in other discussions. Since the curriculum is spiritually rich, it's an opportunity to trade out a verse or poem with one that more accurately represents a person's faith. I don't usually leave things out unless it's for time, or interests or something like that.
So many amazing books. I always watch your videos thinking I don't need more books. You always change my mind.
Oh haha! I know there's always the library ;)
I max out our library card ;) They just don't always carry your pretty books. Ha
I love that you have Norse Mythology book. I am Norse Pagan and was very suprised when you pulled that book out. My heart did a leap. I will definitely be purchasing these Charles Kovacs books. The Geometry books look like a better guide to shapes rather than public school explanation.
A joyful noise is lovely
Well those nature books are like my absolute favs. Those picture books are such neat additions. Man, I need some youngers to buy books for. Tfs
Oh those nature books are like coffee table books! just gorgeous.
Agreed. I think I could live comfortably in a large library. Seriously-I'm like Belle in Beauty and the Beast...love me some gorgeous books!

Oh thank you! We just visited the Palace of Versailles, so learning more about Marie Antoinette will be fascinating.

Awe that's a charming book and so cute! Thanks for sharing the book recommendation.
wow, so many great books! thanks for the shout out Hana! love ya and your obsession for books! this is so not going to help me being a wannabe minimalist! lol! so so AMAZING!
Oh Lindsay, I think I can't have another book! I think I derail the minimalists!!

How did you go about finding a charter school that would fund you?? Is that only in certain states?
So far I think only a couple of states offer that model of education, but as a lot of states have charter schools, I don't see why they couldn't do that too. What state are you in?
I am in Florida. This is the first I heard of a Charter School funding homeschoolers. How wonderful! I love all your book hauls and your channel.
@@tarah7050 I'm in Florida too and have been trying to figure out the same thing.
@@theoriginalmamivibez1298 I don't think FL offers this type of funding. It's only available in a few States.
Hi Hana. I recently found you, and love your videos. Even though I do not have children, I love seeing the many books you have purchased for teaching your children. Also, thumbs up for home schooling your children
Thank you for the list of books! I found myself taking notes through out. We homeschool using educational funds also. Such a blessing🙌🏽
Ah yes you do! You can easily get these using your funding :)
Good price for all those wonderful books! I'm from Oklahoma and I homeschool i have it made when it comes to laws here there prettys not one! I will be looking into these books I have heard of some of them from other homeschool parents
Ah, you're in one the easy states to homeschool in! What do you have to do homeschool? Just tell the district or state?

Yep! I'm agreeing to you agreeing...hehe :)
My boys LOVED "Sam and Dave Dig a Hole"!
Yay! Such a creative book.
Do you have a video on the charter school homeschool? I would like to know more about that.
I have this video
ruclips.net/video/Onu77-3hOsk/видео.html
As far as I know, these kinds of charters (that offer funding) are just in California.
Dorothy(my almost 2 yr old) got I dissent from a family member for Christmas. Clearly it was a little early but I’m excited to read it to the boys now! These are all such great books Hana! I completely understand the time commitment to sell. Maybe pass them along to another homeschooling family? For free?
yes some of them are being passed on for free :)
For the books about women you could turn it into a mini unit for your daughter when she gets older. It would suit her as you said in previous videos that she is territorial about her work.
Yes!! That's sort of the plan. I'll be sharing my thoughts on these books and positive female role models on International Women's day.
Just swooning over those books.......
Now all we need is a big comfy chair in the school room and our fantasy library will be complete!
