About this Channel: This channel chronicles my journey as a sheep farmer from the very beginning. My primary occupation is in business management. In 2020, I discovered the principles of regenerative agriculture and embarked on a journey with the end goal of building a profitable small farm on 23 acres by 2027. Thank you for joining the journey!

I love your channel, shepherdess. Loved the video. I and my family moved to the Shenandoah Valley from Dayton, Ohio when I was a senior in high school, (1986). The valley is breath takingly beautiful. I don't know if you know this or not, But a young George Washington surveyed the valley for the owners, the Fairfax family. Also a huge number of civil war battles were fought in the valley. This area of the country is full of history.

I just stumbled upon your channel a week ago and highly respect the work you are doing! I bought a small farm at the foot of the Blue Ridge mountains in the Shenandoah Valley 4 years ago and began my journey raising beef cattle! It has been quite the journey but we are finally starting to figure it out. Polyface is on my list of places to visit and I have read a lot about what Joel is doing but have never made it out there! No excuse now since you came all the way from Texas and Polyface is literally in my back yard. Thank you for sharing your journey so that others can learn from your experiences. It’s really cool to see my home, city where I work and valley I grew up in on your video! Keep giving God the praise and sharing your faith and He will continue to bless you!

We got our cattle (6) on our new 23 acres 12 days ago and are rotational grazing. Although we were told by the person we boarded them with they would be difficult to move without range cubes and would never stay in 1 poly braid paddock we have had no trouble so far. They used to run from us but now we can get 2 feet from them before they start to move.

I've been trying to get my husband to have our cattle on a rotational grazing schedule here northwest of Fort Worth. With the drought this past summer, our land is, well, bare, sadly. He wants to fertilize, I want to plant grass seed and cover crops. What seeds should we plant? I've convinced him to allow me to broadcast seed in fall and then spring, I just don't know what to plant?
