I must thank you all for your great and encouraging comments, most for and a couple against! I must say that when I recorded Norman and myself playing in this jazzy style of the Shads "Rock" music, it wasn't aimed at using it as a backing to him painting at all! We just felt it may just add a bit of interest to the background! For those who really loved our backing, they would surely have turned it as loud as the wished and watch Norman paint! Those who found the music too loud, offensive or irritating, they would be able to lower or ultimately turn the volume off!!!
I have been working very hard at developing a loose and painterly approach such as this. It's deceptively difficult; Mr. Teeling makes it look so effortless. Lovely painting
Hi Charles, How inventive ... these are excellent jazzed-up interpretations of the old Shads classics ... who knew they could sound this good! I do remember seeing Norman's work in the post office on O'Connell Street back in the 1980's when I lived in Dublin for a while.'' Thanks for sharing Norman's artwork and the results of your excellent collaboration. All the best, James
Loud and irritating music, did you listen to it before posting? This is a wonderful painting, fascinating and dramatic use of colour and dynamic composition; I really like it. But it has nothing to do with the style of Edward Seago (1910-1974) in terms of colour use, values, or composition.
I do agree with you, music is very irritating and far too loud. I had to switch off even though I was interested in the process of his painting. Also I didn’t think it was at all in Seago style.
I love the painting and love the music! It is like the brush is dancing with the band.

I love this style of painting.
thankyou Lalaoui and James! I really appreciate your great comments and will pass them on to Norman too! I know he will be really pleased

Beautiful. What kind of brush is that?

If you dislike the music you know you can turn it down, right?

The music ruins the whole video.
Nothing at all like Seago, If anything perhaps Matisse. Not a fan of the music.
