Blimey katie, last time I commented on one of your videos you had about 50 subs & 100 views☺ Youve done an amazing job! I find music such a personal thing that the idea of joining a vinyl record club that someone else has curated would be an unnatractive proposition. But i fully understand the appeal, particulaly if you live miles from any record shop. I quite like the niche ones. I found one that did 60/70's horror soundstracks with updated sleeves in the style of Hammer Horror posters. Great video, great resource, youve thrashed my sub count & ive been at it 4 years! 🤣
ha!! Thanks for being one of my OG early commenters. Look I have no idea why I have those subs! - but i have had a few shout outs from people which i appreciate. My feeling is that there are SO few women in the VC - that it may just break through a bit? Love your channel.
That`s a lot of record clubs Katie. I was impressed with your impressed record club for the nice touches they do for the buyer. I dealt with columbia house till they started to send me everything that I didn`t ask for and not what I ordered. I now find the odd album that I was looking for in thrift stores.
Good morning Katie. I appreciate your knowledge & understanding of all these record clubs. This was very informative. I never ventured beyond Columbia House in the 60's. A few friends subscribe to Newvelle Records who issue new releases mostly of jazz & blues. Be well.
in the US the biggest was Columbia House Club where they would run promotions like, "25 Records or Tapes for 1¢" If you agreed to subscribe which now one really did. Great video. Thanks so much.
@@cordesrecords I don't think they did. As kids we would all sign up and then not pay. I think a friend of mine was getting collection notices from then for a couple years afterwards. Funny. Keep up the good work. Your channel will keep growing.
Jazztone - this has become a sub-collecting for me. In NJ, USA, I find even near mint for $1. It featured 12" records, which I believe were repressed of 78" and was around 1955 - 57. It was an offshoot of the Concert Hall Society. Great subject. Nice to watch your entertaining and enthusiastic episodes. The Upserters - Lee Scratch Perry (his nickname) - the best in Jamaican dub music - fun music. Universal Music Group (UMG) - The massive record company (verve, etc) is starting a music subscription record 'club'.

@cordesrecords from good to excellent - a surprise for such simple packaging. As you realize, collecting sub-areas can be a fun part of a hobby. You wonder if the recordings came from a licensed record or a new work. I find 'audiophiles' discount these because they were mail order and not from a collectible brand. For $1, they represent a minimal purchase. Look up on Discogs the listing's; some are big bands and lesser-known artists, but you'll also find Charlie Parker, Mary Lou Williamson, and Jack Teagarden. It is enjoyable and interesting to watch your episodes.

Lee Scratch Perry and the Upsetters thumbnail got me to stop and watch. Legendary album. It's Dub Reggae by the way.
It's so out of my comfort zone - I am pleased some people know what it is!! :)
