Why do people in these survival movies tend to act so stupid. They don't bother to pick up items to use in self-defense, look for tire irons, guns, axes, or such. They also don't make a plan. They just wander around like a bunch of dummies. Alphas are people of action and would immediately make a plan to survive and would immediately look for items and supplies to increase their chances to survive.
I strongly agree with you, but remember common sense is not common, most people tend to panic, start crying, or praying to their god for help. I would hunker down some where, like the Winchester pub, in Shawn of the dead, and wait for every thing to blow over. Lol

This is the perfect example of how not to survive staying with someone who is bitten, trying to reason with someone infected and having almost no basic survival instincts..... just painful to watch

This is the UK, they dont have a lisence to use weapons of any sort and self defence of europeans is illegal here you wait for the police or you will get arrested for racism against a foreign virus.
When you experience traumatic experiences on a massive scale you aren’t going to think clearly. You are just running on instinct. Plus not knowing in a zombie scenario if the blood itself could cause infection could be another reason of leaving the weapon behind. Just my thoughts behind the reasoning here

Everyone had the same random mutation from radiation? I think they had a cool idea but then didn't know where to go with it so they turned into another zombie movie. Pretty poor plot. The acting was great.
