Guys, if this happens, you can check the clutch cable. In my car (2001 WV Caddy 1.9), right next to the engine, it is 1 meter long and looks like expensive bicycle locks. After finding your cable, go under the car and find the clutch cable from below. There are 2 hexagonal pieces that connect the clutch cable screw to the transmission and hold it at the bottom. 1 small, 1 large. If you tighten the small one (do not tighten the big one, only the small one. If the big one rotates, keep it fixed in place and tighten the small one). Your clutch will go halfway instead of going all the way to the end and staying there. (think of it as driving with half clutch and half throttle) If you do this, you will repair your car enough to take it to the mechanic.
Yes older car have a cable for the clutch and the throttle body but newer cars have a hydraulic system so there is no cable so your method wouldn't work and you will need a mechanic even a car with the cable would need a mechanic because the clutch cable only starts to become loose is because ur clutch is getting worn and 1 day you will still need a mechanic to replace your clutch or you can try following a youtube guide yourself on how to do it either way youl still need a mechanic weather its a garage or youtube

@nathangrimes-os9mm what car do you have and what did they exactly change just the clutch or any slave cylinder with it or flywheel n tbh that does sounds expensive the most people charge around here for a clutch is 300 to 500 depending on car n that's with parts n labour did u go to an independent garage or was it main dealers also depends where u live aswell for a example if you live in London it is really expensive around there but yet again 1.480 does sound to expensive that's to much but u need break down what they actually did to your car
