Girl you must’ve read my mind. I just told my sister I’m going to Swim lessons this year. This is so vital! Especially for us black people. I can’t wait😁🏊🏼♀️🏊🏼♀️
UNEXPECTED UPLOAD AND FUNNY THING IS IA HAVE THIS ON MY 2022 GOAL LIST....I NEVER KNEW HOW TO SWIM SO I AM DEFIANTLY GOING TO FIND MY LOCAL YMCA....THANK U FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT💗💗💗💗💗
This honestly gave me so much motivation! I want to learn how to swim so bad just to have a skill that'll be very useful to me and others and to also enjoy activities.
@@NikkiFarah what type of swim cap do you wear or does it matter? I use isoplus to wash the chemicals out my hair but I can't find a decent swim cap to avoid damage.
I’m so proud of you!!! I hope anyone considering lessons gives it a try, I think feeling comfortable in water opens up a world of possibilities (not to mention water safety- so important)
I work for the YMCA and I once was AFRAID of the water. I have recently been taking swimming lessons and I LOVE it. Swimming is so relaxing. I am getting better every day. Looking forward to learning more.
This is definitely confirmation, as I also saw Kandidkinks talk about taking adult swimming class. This is such an important message for our community. Thank you for sharing❤ BTW can you share your fitness journey on RUclips ( I'm not on other social platforms)?
I wish there were disability funded programs or something for it, I’m 22 and still wouldn’t be able to help myself if I fell into water cause I couldn’t learn as a kid 😔 definitely an important skill to have
I understand completely! This is really your sign! In our class a young lady was paralyzed I believe from the waist down and got to a point where she didn’t need the floatie
Contact your local recreation department or your social services office and ask! It’s definitely worth a try, there are programs that offer free or low-cost activity classes for people with Medicare and/or Medicaid (and sometimes you just have to qualify) so it’s worth a shot!
If there is no program for disability swim lessons then you should try to go to a regular swim lesson because I have a disability and it is arthrogryposis and I learned to swim at a regular swim lesson and now I am on a swim team and in April I am going to a international meet
Girl..., stop reading my thoughts🤔👀. I can "swim" 😒😒 BUT am not comfortable in the water. I'm signing up me and my 3 half ass swimming children for lessons today. Too many of us ❤🖤💚 drown unnecessarily. 💋💋💋💋💋💋
This is great..I'm taking my 10year old granddaughter swimming classes at the Y and going to enroll my 7year old grandson also.Really I should go for my self I need to learn how to swim just in case. She is a quick learner and she has been going since last spring.
Honestly I was thinking about doing .. I’m 29 I can’t even swim at all I used to swim a lot as a child I didn’t pushed myself. If I did I would’ve had join my swimming team back in HS .

I hate putting my head under water, I probably will never learn lol
That mindset will not get tou to learn as you already made your mind up that you wont.

This is so inspiring!
I could have taught you for free, you could have said $100 but good luck anyway.. God bless, Happy New Year...
How did you protect your natural hair? Did your hair get wet even with the cap on? Did you wash and deep condition after each swim?
After many swimming lessons with poor instructors and frustrating results, I finally gave up. Not everyone likes swimming.
