Leaving off the hose clamps from all those connections is a good idea. Much better to quickly reconnect after separation than splitting the line which causes cutting out bad sections and having more connections to reconnect at spring thaw.
Now I understand why most homesteads don't have kids running around your either too busy or too tired for the nasty great job on the windows Greg, it's turning a house into a beautiful home
Those windows are BEAUTIFUL. I remember that awesome smell in the woods after a rain and when everything comes alive again. You are so fortunate to have that beautiful property❤
Just think the views out of those four windows will never stay the same like a Painting. Enjoy the four seasons. The wood work around them looks amazing so congratulations to you both. xxxxx
Window trim looks great. Door casings and baseboards and crown molding and... never ending list of things to be done. But at least the water is flowing. Thanks for the video.
There ain’t no doubt off grid self sufficient ( as much as possible ) is no joke ! It’s not for lazy people that’s a fact country living and self sufficiency is constant work every day especially if you live In a real cold climate.
You guys are awesome the way you work together, You get a lot accomplished, Katie is tougher than Woodpecker Lips, watching her load those logs on the truck was impressive, Greg you are one lucky man to have a partner who is there to help carry the load with whatever projects you are doing. All the best from Florida USA.
Your intros are just the best. Really doing an epic job with terrific results. What a team , but your menagerie just makes me happy and smile every time. What joy you’ve created for them 🥰🤗
You guys are doing a very beautiful basic home. It is something that I never do, so watching you two work your magic is great. Beautiful home that is coming along nicely.
Katie & Greg, I have gone back and watched all your videos from the beginning. You both are doing a great job on your off grid property. I'm a 71 year old widow from Central Iowa, USA
After you cut the tree down, I see the color of the tree, I would safe it for furniture inside, the tree color looks awesome, I’m impressed what super woman Katie is , ❤❤
I always love seeing all the adorable animals in the beginnings of your videos 🥰❤️ and you guys, that master bedroom corner window section turned out BEAUTIFUL!! 😱❤️ The firewood and water are always your constant struggles, but you always have a good time while working, and you two make a great team. Love ya both! 😊❤
Spring is here! Y’all were able to get a lot done. Windows look great, plenty of firewood,& water is good to go. Excellent progress Katie,& Greg!💯👏🏾😀🫶🏾💜✝️🙏🏾🇺🇸
Good to see your still standing and your happy and didn’t cut off you wennie then you’d both be unhappy . I had a bad one with a grinder on the pipeline it also didn’t bleed a lot and it was in the front part of my hip unsure what it’s called but to the bone. Anyway they are a dangerous tool doesn’t matter how safe you’re trying to be . Just keep putting your show out it’s awesome
The Mingo Marker Firewood Measuring Tool - Chainsaw Firewood Marking Tool - Log Paint Marker -Firewood Measuring Tool For Chainsaw - Logging Tools (Mingo Marker With 6"-12"-24" Wheel. Not sure if you knew about this tool. 😊
Reminds me of living in the north when I was young. A lot of work for a couple of weeks worth of heat. Go easy on your back ! It will catch up to you in the future.
For being off grid, you're not missing much and what you are missing is probably not missed at all. Camping with all of the conveniences. Have good days!
Your trim boards around the windows look Great. I do love the view from those corner windows. Looks some nice firewood. Glad you got your water running to homebase. Hugs from Santa Barbara. Have a Great & blessed week. 🤗😘🌹🍷😎🙏👋
Sorry you just use 2’ boards 1x6 put rows of small nails or staples an inch apart then cover the boards . It’s a easy simple way to keep bears wolves anything that chews things up mostly bears and you don’t have to hide them just on the ground where you think they will step
I always enjoy the opening scenes you put together with all the animals. It's nice to see them all just milling around and all getting along so well together. The window trim turned out really nice! That is a beautiful corner of your house with a stunning view. If not for the fact that the stairs come right up there, I'd be tempted to have a nice chair there just to sit and look out those windows 😉. That was a lot of work on that tree - Katie, you never cease to amaze me young lady! Have a great week ahead you guys. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
You have done a super job!! But honestly, Katie, you might be able to lift all that now, but in later years it will tell on you~! Be careful!!! Always exciting to see what you are up to.
Good morning, how are you folks doing today? Hope everybody's having a great Day Out there. Keep up the good work and be happy. I guess you're gonna get everything else done I Get you guys later
Opening shot of the house, really nice how pretty your home looks. Its come so far, and the windows are very pretty. Katie is a true Mountain Woman, lifting those rounds, you two are quite the pair!! Stay safe
I love watching you guys work together! Katie, you're so strong, it's not even funny!! Greg, thanks for always pointing out how good it smells or how great the fresh mountain water tastes. Those are things we can't experience through the video, so I appreciate how you always point it out you so we can imagine it! ☺️
A person here said to use the tree for furniture. It made me think of the $350 log on wayfair they were selling as an end table. Take two of the logs from the base, put them on end in the house, and you have Wayfair end tables. Looks like you will have a good bit of firewood from that tree. Now just have to split it, luckily there is plenty of time until fall. And congrats on getting your water back. The windows look great, perfect view coming up those stairs. I have a question, I asked this before and I apologize for asking again. What is the breed of the brown haired dog. I know you said it was Australian, but thats all I remember. Thank you.
When shimming frames you need to put a shim in fat side first and another shim thin side in over the top. Keeps the boards square. This means cutting the fat side of the shim to the correct thickness. Takes some time. And maybe you are doing this already. I just couldn’t tell. 😊
My husband and I watch you all the time. We love your place. Reruns, everything. We saw you frame your bedroom windows. I loved it, you did such a great job. So glad for you. Gods Blessings on you.😅
I just can't say enough how absolutely amazing the work that the two of yall do,just simply beautiful. Your finish work on your window trim looks so great ?Thanks for sharing your dream with us ,my girl and I that is...GODBLESS and Stay sharp, Stay safe,See yall soon 😊 on a side note my Husqy chainsaw out does my Stihl every time...I keep up maintenance on both equally but the Husqy out works the Stihl by far and large .IDK .....I caught The Thumbs down and can't agree....love yall...❤😊
Very nice job on the trim around the windows it looks amazing ! That was a big tree good to stay ahead incase you get a hernia getting the big ones ! good job being safe with the saw girl you got it done :) Yes the big boy too ! Nice having running water even when you have to run up the line a few times :)
What kind of windows are those. Home depo Specials? All new windows have a 3/4" wide slot that's 3/4" deep on bottom top an both sides for Sill boards to slip into an seal out any dirt an allows for adjustment to flush each one with finished wall. All be building this summer an ripping down the 14x70 mobile home. 15 years late but better late then never. I'll have a few years left to enjoy it. It all be on my channal here in cold country north western Ont. Canada. It -4c tonight low of -19c no snow this winter strange.
You're right there the still in the better power saw then the Husqvarna I ran them both And yes the voice part of a computer doesn't know how to spell still power saw

@ 18:10 looks like time to start building the second woodshed / best thing about two is one is always seasoned and ready and one is ready for new wood when it comes available
Window finishing just gorgeous! I'm doubly impressed with the lof lifts onto the trucks .... in Aus we would need a front end loader for a piece of eucalyptus that size!!
Nice work on all window trims, glad you can make yr own wood out yr trees like smell of wood.saves on money to!! Katie be careful dont over do it you either greg.i really love your house n properties n watching you both!!❤ stay safe!!

Better not make Katie mad buddy the way she handled that fire wood she would be a force to recon with.
The windows trim is stunning… it frames an everchanging seasonal view God as nature as art. Beautiful.

What I like about you house design is the fact that you have a rooftop patio and can add an addition should you ever want to. ❤️🇨🇦
There ain’t no doubt off grid self sufficient ( as much as possible ) is no joke ! It’s not for lazy people that’s a fact country living and self sufficiency is constant work every day especially if you live In a real cold climate.
You did a fantastic job on those windows. The plants really set it off, and the view is amazing! That must be SO satisfying!

The power, dedication and perseverance, is astonishing to watch Katie toss logs around like a WWE wrestler.
She needs to have her legs do more of the work. Kate, you are bending your back to much. It will catch-up to you later in life.
That's one thing I don't miss is getting firewood for the stove.
Good to see your still standing and your happy and didn’t cut off you wennie then you’d both be unhappy . Finally first like!
❤ u guys from Mississauga, On.
Suggestion for getting window trip plum and square instead of using shims. Use sheet rock screws as shims. Generally, it only takes 6 or 8 screws
The trim, plants and views make the corner unique. A sight to behold.

Absolutely beautiful 4 window setting and view…it is all coming together as a product of Visio, taste, planning…and STRONG WORK ETHICC!😎👍
Is there a reason you don’t bury the water line? Maybe too many tree roots in the way. We love you two. You are such a good team.
