I have heard that league has a rock-paper-scissors game where poke beats disengage, disengage beats engage, and engage beats poke. If that's true, then why does engage not work into these hyper-poke comps? Is it because many of these poke champions are also good at disengage and have non-committal ults - e.g., maokai r, gp/rumble r, lilia e + r, etc.? I feel like engage at least partially explains GenG's game 5 loss to HLE in the summer finals. Hanwha had yone, jax, rell, and vi and just repeatedly burst Chovy. I get that GenG's comp wasn't 4 poke champions and a support, but it was still kaisa and corki with tanks.
I think it’s that ranged champions are too tanky. Engage champions that jump on ranged squishies just die too quickly, so we see an arms race of more poke instead of the traditional counter that is hard engage.
Thank you for this video, I had no idea why CBLOL teams were picking GP because the performances were atrocious
hahaha yea they saw the LCK win record and sought to neutralize it

This is a great video. What do you think is the biggest contributor for causing the ARAM meta?
