I think the hallmark for an industry plant is a meteoric rise without any discography under their belts. It gets pushed through every outlet that you should listen to them.

i used to watch aryia awhile ago when he used to make music tutorials. seeing almost all of that erased makes those memories feel like a fever dream. he had a lot of old music too that i was a fan of but there’s no trace of that either.
That's unfortunate. People in music will often get rid of their old music in an effort to rebrand.

If I remember correctly, he was a student of the guys from Simple Pickup back in the day, hence the “simple sexy stupid” name. Those guys ended up having feuds, one dude stole the other dude’s girlfriend, all the videos were deleted, they tried to be business men blah blah. Forgot all the details, but it’s kind of what you’d imagine. Pickup artists selling overpriced tutorial and then fucking each other over lol

I think it’s fair to say that is new image is really fake, though. He may have made many of the decisions of his own volition, or maybe the label pushed it on him, but he’s clearly being fake.

However, if the label decided to sell him as something he wasn’t, and that something was a true, dyed-in-the-wool pop punk fan and singer-songwriter, that would make him an industry plant. The difference for him is how many of these decisions were his. If he always liked pop punk, especially the way MGK did it, and simply used his label to get more promotion and money to make his unoriginal vision a reality, he’s not an industry plant. However, if the suits decided to try to make him into this MGK clone while presenting it as his authentic self, and he just went along with it, I’d say he is. The truth could also be in the middle.

there’s so much more that you guys haven’t found it’s crazy, years and years ago i would watch him from time to time as i was very young, then every few years he’d pop up in my recommended with some random content, he had a music production tutorial phase that was honestly quite informative for anybody starting out. kinda hilarious to randomly see him now in some strange tik tok phase

I knew Ariya back in 2016/17 when lots of creators & comedians from vine were trying to make comedy skits and upload them to Facebook,IG, and RUclips. He never broke out of doing low budget skits or shock content unlike others that did like kingbach, Logan Paul, Lilly Singh, etc…
My guess is that it’s just another attempt to follow trends and grab some quick fame. Just like his time spent working with Connor Murphy & other “prank” channels.
He’s known for working with people who are upcoming & relevant at the time. He follows trends and then drops them & the people for the next big trend & new upcoming influencers.
Being an industry plant is quite impressive, its like a real job.
I can’t believe that “doesn’t have a pickup artist course” is the painfully low bar for MGK to walk over.

It is pretty simple. Aryia made videos and got recognized by SimplePickup which was one of the biggest RUclipsrs during the prank era. SimplePickup made jumpcut academy where they would make people’s channel big. SimplePickup was so big that they would have connections to big other RUclipsrs and Aryia fit right in. Over time Aryia would have connections to people like Amanda Cerny. As the prank era made it hard for his channel to keep running, he started focussing on music. First he grinded doing his own average thing for a long time but without results. At some point he just started making these style of cringy songs and they did get traction so he stick with it unfortunately.

Industry plants are usually scrapped hard for a while til they got a break on the inside. I don’t enjoy the music at all, but I understand playing music for a while and wanting music to finally pay rent and feed you.
Moreover, as musicians, don’t we all try to help each other get gigs? I understand the mystery of the meteoric rise from nowhere, but I just don’t get the desire to tear these people down. Their music will make or break them at this point.

I've been listening to his music for 4 years now, and at the time he had already had plenty of music released, and even back then we had a hard-core dedicated fan base and none of us have left his side, we've watched him struggle, and succeed and find his spot in the music industry.
