    Great video, night time illumination/driving is not often covered in RUclips reviews. I am hopeful that you will do a nighttime review of the Santa Cruz Limited which has ambient interior lighting.

    Enjoyed this video! Does it concern anyone else that the front turn signals are actually arrows pointing the opposite direction the truck is turning?

    About time someone made a night video to show all the lights of the Santa Cruz 👍. I am currently leasing a 2020 Hyundai IONIQ and once my lease is over I will go and look at the Santa Cruz. If I like it I’ll probably lease it and take it from there. Thanks for the video.

    In Canada the Ultimate trim level has ambient lighting inside the vehicle that lights up the door storage, center storage bin where the wireless charging pad is and the center cup holders area. There is no bulb in the glove box though.

    The front end running / headlight system is about the best I've yet seen on a SUV. And that includes the Telluride, which I also think looks excellent.

  • @jimji2774
    @jimji2774 Год назад +1

    Good video but I would add that the lower mounting level of the headlights creates some alignment issues. I am constantly getting flashed when using my low beams and the dealership says they are in spec so won't adjust them. Mounting the lights so low creates some real sensitive angles where just a slight change can create a problem either blinding someone or not seeing enough of the road. The dealer also told me they would have had to drop the bumper to adjust them. Makes me think they don't want us to adjust them anymore.

    I miss something that used to be included on almost every American car 50 to 70 years ago. Foot well lights. You opened the door and lights under the dash or in the lower doors would light up the floors so you could see them to enter and exit the car.

    Mike,...Two or maybe 3 omissions as far as lighting in this vehicle is concerned. No glove box light, No center console light, and No light in the tray/wireless phone charger area or cubby! Should also have all the switches on the drivers door lit, as well as the side view mirror switch. I believe the 2022 Tucson has all these lights mentioned, but missing from this Santa Cruz, as well as AMBIENT lighting in the door pockets and the wireless charger cubby. And also FYI,...My 2019 Tucson Ultimate has ALL these lights missing in the Santa Cruz & their ALL LED throughout the whole vehicle...Thanks for this great look at the New 2022 Santa Cruz lighting situation. Enjoy yer video/reviews very much!

    I Love the fact I don't need Fog lights. But the grill lights Shine bright enough so when you are enjoying Christmas lights without blinding people. I have no problem with any of my Lighting. It very well thought out. I have a problem with the left USB when you are in park. Very hard to get a man hands behind the Shifter to plug in your phone. The Stupid plug in your phone sucks in the first place. My KIA Soul plus didn't need any of that crap and I Loved it and without a light it's even harder to see. It's the little things that aggravates the most. Every car has its quarks !

    I just bought my santa cruz a couple of days ago and those lights not being there aren't as bad as it seems to be honest I usually turn on ally lights so I don't miss what I am looking for anyways so maybe that's why I don't mind it but what is bothering me is the side view mirror adjustment button isn't lit bummer, also the side view mirrors aren't dimmable for headlights beaming right at my face which sucks we are in 2021 its a 22 truck and my 2008 Cherokee had dimmable side view mirrors another bummer but besides that I love this CUV I'm a happy customer

  • @exoticcar5482
    @exoticcar5482 3 года назад +2

    Really Hyundai? You have such nice LED front DRLs yet you disappoint us all in the rear? It's annoying enough that they didn't even bother to use LEDs for the brake lights but worse still they didn't include a separate amber turn signal and yet this is a vehicle that came out this year smh

    • @AdonaiNate
      @AdonaiNate 3 года назад

      Ummm I wouldn't say "all" just you. I've seen no one else but you complain about that. And why does it matter? If you can't see those red lights at night then you're either Colorblind or just don't pay attention when driving.

    • @exoticcar5482
      @exoticcar5482 3 года назад

      @@AdonaiNate Really? I've actually seen quite a few people express the same irritation on models from the late 2010s up having incandescent bulbs, especially the turn signal. There was a similar night review to this that was uploaded for the Hyundai Sonata that came out this year and after scrolling through the comments I found someone on the same page as me. Also just saying I can see the red lights just fine. It's not like I can't seem them just because they're not LED. The reason for my disapproval is because tungsten filaments being used for lighting is just plain outdated and terribly inefficient. Great as a heater but awful as a light source. Practically every other light in the world has been upgraded to LED for a reason. I don't see why car manufacturers to this day still consider LEDs as luxury or premium features when they've dropped dramatically in price over the past 6 years. even a basic $20k Toyota Corolla hatchback has all LEDs in the exterior

  • @g7003041

    Oh well, I guess Hyundai have to cut somewhere to save cost. The bed trunk surely not useful or big as the Ridgeline. Otherwise it looks good.

    • @df3555
      @df3555 3 года назад +6

      Hyundai is not targeting a "bigger is better" customer. The demographic they are going after are active urbans, not suburban plywood haulers.
      The Ridgeline is almost 15inches longer than the Santa Cruz, and is a 3.5inches wider, and has a 3ft wider turning radius... some people don't want to drive nor park that. And despite it's bigger dimensions and V6, the Hyundai has the same 5,000lbs towing capacity and a payload capacity 200lbs greater than the Honda... so the bigger is better argument fails there.
