Could easily have been a 1:1 arcade conversion. Too bad they didn't do it. The thing that's the worst about this port is the frame rate; it's soooo low. On a standard Amiga 500, it runs at 12.5fps, which is a 4th of the standard 50fps. So, it runs slow and very choppy/jerky. On an Amiga 1200 it runs much faster, too fast; no extra frames added though, just sped up, which makes the choppy/jerky scrolling smoother, but not OK when the game runs too fast. Thanks to the power of WinUAE I made it run somewhere in between. He runs a bit faster than the arcade version, but it's a bit smoother and not as slow as on a A500.
00:46 - Moved the 3rd hydrant and got the blue hat, which makes me immune to the tiny ghosts that drop/falls from the planes.
01:18 - Moved the third cactus and got a pill that makes me invincible for the rest of the level.
02:35 - Moved the second cactus and got an extra life after I captured the thingy.
12:20 - I killed myself on the last level to show what that looks like.
The game has no ending and just restarts from level 1, so I killed myself and added the high-score there instead. -

Because that's how the Japanese drew his nose on artwork, and this versions programmer at least did their homework on something for this game. Everything else though, nah. Correct nose size, check, Ghost House levels, Pac-Land, we have a problem. No high score jingle either, yuck.

Another version missing the Ghost House levels, just like the Famicom version, inexcusable for a machine proclaimed to be powerful.
I could never get across that pool at 2:07. Every single time I would fall in the water and fail.

Loved this version on the Amiga, but I always thought the scrolling was worse than what it is in this video.

Looks like they deliberately made a mockery of it by having stage 2 music all the way through because the Amiga would have done such a good job of the conversion they would have lost money in the arcades. Similar thing with Mega Drive Eswat, Shinobi, Shadow Dancer excetra. It was all about the money 😮

This game looked awful, but I remember it was pretty fun to play, though I never got past the first few levels... 😅
It's a fun game. Don't know about this port though.
where's the music for when you get the pill also the round 7 maze type stage is missing?.. the c64 has all this in it so why not the amiga version?
I remember buying this as it was cheap and being fairly nonplussed by it. I thought it was an average attempt at an average platformer.
Well considering it's from a time before Super Mario Bros it's not bad at all.
Not a game I've ever played so I can't comment on what is better but even as a platformer its no more than average. Give me Manic Miner any day.
At 2:07 it was like jumping at round 3.

This, my friend, is a shitty Atari ST Port, there was actually a much better version being made by Grandslam when they suddenly scrapped that and slapped out a port of the Atari ST version
