I'm told by Korean speakers that the little girl speaks formally to her dad throughout the movie, indicating she doesn't feel close to him until the scene where she's begging him not to go, when she finally shifts to informal "close friends and family" speech, so for Koreans that scene hits even harder as a result.
Thank you so much for that info, I didn't know that, and next time I watch that movie I'm going to cry even more when I get to that heartbreaking scene.
I don't know if someone else has pointed this out yet or not but evidently they used break dancers for the zombies because they have the physical ability to go through the contortions we see.
The infection time depends on how close the bite is to the brain. A bite on the foot or leg takes a minute or two to change and a neck or face bite is just several seconds.
Gong Yoo, the actor who plays the main protagonist later had a leading role in the series "Guardian: The lonely and great god". In this series there is a scene when he visits a movie theater with a girl, and the movie they are watching is the "Train to Busan". He completely freaks out and screams during the movie, and completely embarasses the girl. It is a really funny scene, just hilarious. XD
So I've watched train to Busan as well as guardian the lonely and Great goblins. I never knew that the movie they were watching was train to Busan. I got my mom into watching guardian the great and lonely God. It's so good. I've loved him since coffee prince. Him and Yoon Eun Hye. She is the best cryer. She cried her ass off in lie to me.
30:08 Yes, that guy is one of the great movie villains and I’ve seen many say that he is worse than the zombies with his high kill count. And it is sadly true that it is realistic behavior.
The father didnt give her the present to try and buy her affection the following day is her birthday so it's a birthday gift. Thats why he finally agrees to take her to Busan because its what she wanted for her birthday. Noone is really noticing the staggering woman because 1) they are in a culture where you mostly just mind your buisness and if anyone did notice her they would probably assume she is drunk or on drugs, they would treat the homeless man the same way like they are invisible 2) if you noticed when the father and daughter are heading to the station its still dark out so its really early in the morning and many of the passengars fall back to sleep once they are on the train like the father did. His parenting might be lacking in the beginning but I mean he did fall asleep and the little girl needed to go to the bathroom, she seems old enough to go by herself without telling him first. They dont know a zombie outbreak is about to happen.
Yeah true true. Still tho with the present, even if it’s for her birthday he clearly wouldn’t have bought the same gift if it was out of love or care. He was merely trying to just meet an expectation that you need to get a gift for your kids birthday. That’s the point of the scene. He isn’t paying her enough attention.
@@thecocoacouch i agree he was probably so busy with work he forgot what he had given her for Children's Day the previous year. Also doesnt excuse how he doesnt know what his own kid is into and had to ask a coworker what kids are into lol. still I loved his redemption arc, when he realizes how close he was to being like the selfish villian and began to put everyone else before himself.

If you liked this movie, you are gonna like "Kingdom" & "All Of Us Are Dead" which are both South Korean zombie series...one is set in the Joseon Dynasty and the other is set in a High School.
OMG I love "Kingdom" it's one of my favorite series fr. It's such a cool take on zombies with all this great lore on them. And people fighting zombies with arrows, swords, and powder riffles makes things pretty interesting. Plus the cinematography is just gorgeous, there were so many beautiful shots.
There is also Happiness which is one of my favorite zombie shows. Kinda similar to train to Busan but in a rich apartment complex. It definitely has themes on classism.
Greetings Mate! I’m glad you took me up on my recommendation of this tremendous film! It’s the only Zombie movie that’ll have you in tears. Plus, the little girl gives, what I believe, is the best child acting performance I have ever seen! She’s absolutely remarkable, wow!
one of my favorite things about this movie is how selfless so many characters were. the train conductor who was determined to keep the train going despite not knowing if there were even any survivors, the people who kept doors open just a few seconds longer to let more people through, and even the soldier at the end who, even after being given the order, hesitated long enough that the girl was able to start singing. it's very telling to me that, despite the cast being full of young, strong healthy people, the survivors at the end were a young child and a very pregnant woman. i feel like in most other apocalypse movies, the members of society who are generally seen as "weaker" (like children, the elderly, the sick) die early, but in this movie so many people were courageous and selfless so things were different. really inspiring to me. another thing I like is how similar the main character is to the "villain" (the other businessman). they're both very wealthy, and they're both selfish and are willing to sacrifice others for their own survival. but as we see the main character starts to change, and even sacrifices himself to save his daughter and the woman by putting his hand in the zombie's mouth so it would bite him instead.
18:00 i just noticed how the homeless guy just went ahead and walked out when everyone was telling him to, makes me think he's used to getting kicked out in spaces bc of his appearance
Lol... At the edge of my seat watching this recap with you despite having seen the movie a couple of times already. 😂 This is one of many amazing Korean movies out there...a very well-made zombie movie!
Trust me, you’re not the only one who HATED that character and all of his selfish acts that got so many ppl killed from the father to be, the 2 high school kids, the 2 older sisters and the train conductor. But you’re right, in a situation like this or any stress filled survival situation, ppl would truly act like that prick. But kudos to the person who portrayed him cause you know it takes talent to portray a character that horrible haha All in all, this is a great zombie film with great character development. With all the zombie films out there, this one is at the top of the list next to George A Romero’s Living Dead films. A few I would recommend I think you’ll like: The girl with all the gifts (2016) has a stellar cast with a great story and Return of the Living Dead (1985) is a great comedy horror that has gained a huge cult following due to its focus on the 80’s punk rock scene. Cheers mate!

This is so strange. The subtitles near the beginning are SO different to every copy of this I've seen on every streaming service. Like in none of them did she say "I think there are zombies hiding here" right after getting on the train. Zombies weren't even mentioned for ages. The man had said if she didn't finish school she would end up like him (the guy hiding in the toilet) and she told him that her mother said anyone who says that is a bad person. To which the man replies "she must have failed school." Nothing about zombies at all. Where did you find this copy? o.O I'm actually wondering now what these subtitles left out that didn't let you know it was her birthday and that's why he was getting her a gift. this is SO odd and seems like someone's troll joke making up their own lines for the movie lol
Speaking of your quote at the end about being "genuinely scared of those zombies", that reminded me of my own reaction after I saw the [Will Smith] movie "I am Legend" (if you haven't seen it, you should!) ... in a theater on my college campus, and since I lived on campus, I had a 15-minute (BIG campus) WALK home alone IN THE DARK on uncrowded sidewalks (!) I am a horror movie enthusiast but that was the freakiest after-movie experience I ever had lol. "I am Legend" is not only freaky but has some heavy elements in it as well, like this one did.
Zombie movies are my favorite movies too! I'm so glad you enjoy them. For me I love all apocalyptic movies/shows because you see people from all walks of life overcoming their differences and working together with the ultimate understanding that we are the same.
I know this video is a year old, but I've only recently found this channel and have been binge watching most of his videos lol. I just wanted to say that the baseball player is the same actor that was the son in Parasite. He's also in Okja, which is a fantastic Korean/English movie by the same director as Parasite, Snowpiercer, and The Host. Highly recommend Parasite and Okja for this channel.
Train to Busan is my favorite zombie movie. It is absolutely fantastic. It is also so damn heartbreaking. I cried so much while watching it. And that f*ckin' businessman made it to the top of my most hated characters list. Just detestable.
Silent watcher here! Have been for around a year. If you liked this film, please check out All of us are dead (which is a series). Similar premise (zombie apocalypse in Asia), but it begins in a high school. They manage to keep the action central, whilst also completely humanising the characters, making you love each one. I think someone like you, who has such great emotional intelligence, would love it! Thanks for what you do, makes my day :)))
2:19 it always takes one to start an apocalypse. Worst nightmare one of my worst nightmares, scientists usually the cause of it, it's scary but mostly sad to be in this situation well scary when living it but sad when watching it. Stupidity is everyone's downfall.
The actor that plays as the father is also in: • Goblin Korean Drama - Show Trailer ruclips.net/video/8AcNEVUzV4o/видео.htmlfeature=shared - Show OST (Music Video with some clips) ruclips.net/video/wdHeiVf0mds/видео.htmlfeature=shared • Squid Game mini series (as the main man recruiting people to enter the game)
This is one of the best zombie apocalypse films ever made. Far superior to most of the genre. '28 Days Later' isn't a zombie film though and I'll die on that hill. LOL. The original 'Night of the Living Dead'(1968) and 'Dawn of the Dead" (1978) set the standard.
Such a great movie, it took me too long to watch! The dad is the subway guy from Squid Game/Round 6. I just found your channel with Top Secret, subscribed! Apart from other slasptick such as Hot Shots and Spaceballs, I HIGHLY recommend the series Interview With the Vampire (AMC), only 7 episodes, your fellow Aussie Sam Reid as the iconic Lestat! It's based on Anne Rice's books, there was a great movie in 1994 and a NOT so great """sequel""" around a decade later. But the series unexpectedly swept me off my feet!!!
If you liked that one check out these as well, they are all made in Korea, each has an all star cast of great actors, and are still being shown on Netflix now. Sweet Home, All of us are Dead, Kingdom Ashin of the North, and Kingdom the series, all are Zombie moves, Kingdom, and Kingdom Ashin are set in the 1400`s , I`d suggest watching in the original Korean with Subtitle, vs watching with English voice actors. most voice actors dubbed movies just sound bad.
Nice reaction! The subtitles were absolutely trash, I'm sorry you didn't get to experience the movie with the official subtitles, they add to the story.
Heyo, just wanted to drop a line to say how much I'm enjoying your reactions. Love the FRIENDS reaction, as well as this one. I will stay tuned for more and I hope your channel continues to gain traction! :)
I saw this movie a long time ago, I thought it was excellent but I never want to see it again, not even a snippet because it was so distressing and sad.
I watched this many times,i love kdramas Chinese dramas Thai dramas and zombie movies alot of horror scary groosum stuff, zombie movies or shows are more sad than scary and man all it takes is one to be infected to start an apocalypse plus stupidity is usually theor downfall and also people who will do anything to save themselves so yeah.
for me this is the best zombie moviee i cant believe it got me so emotional even when i watch the reaction of this. btw i lovee your rection pls keep doing thiss. And if i can recommend you a great zombie series is called “happiness” its korean zombie series played by great actors, great stories, good characters, and the music... i cant even describe u have to experience it
The subs that say "Don't go, father! Come with us." isn't correct. It's closer to "Don't go. It's my fault/I was wrong." She's blaming herself, likely for wanting to go to Busan.
Helu, coming from your Hacksaw Ridge reaction vid & wanted to leave a recommendation! If you're interested in seeing Andrew Garfield in another quite different role I really recommend watching "Under the Banner of Heaven". Such an amazing series, one of the best I've ever seen.

No hate So many reactors are saying the dad should've chopped off his hand Let me tell you something.... chopping off hand to prevent the infection to spread is generally used in American and European movies, in Asian movies it's not that common

To which the man replies "she must have failed school." Nothing about zombies at all. Where did you find this copy? o.O
I'm actually wondering now what these subtitles left out that didn't let you know it was her birthday and that's why he was getting her a gift. this is SO odd and seems like someone's troll joke making up their own lines for the movie lol
Yeah…pretty disappointed on my end after hearing this from lots of folks.
Near the end where he gets a phone call the guy said "Our plant started this" they didn't work at a plant, I think they just funded that plant
Oh that would have been awful. Yeah that films terrifying hey.
"Y'know what? I would honestly just get naked. I'd just be like 'look at me'."
No need to threaten us with a good time, ya massive tease.
😂
Zombie movies are my favorite movies too! I'm so glad you enjoy them. For me I love all apocalyptic movies/shows because you see people from all walks of life overcoming their differences and working together with the ultimate understanding that we are the same.
Who would of thought a zombie movie would have so many characters get nice development and resolutions to show growth.
Yeah I love seeing that in apocalyptic films like this!
I’m loving your reactions mate. Great job
Train to Busan is my favorite zombie movie. It is absolutely fantastic. It is also so damn heartbreaking. I cried so much while watching it. And that f*ckin' businessman made it to the top of my most hated characters list. Just detestable.
Bruh Seok-Woo activated the manual so that the door doesn't auto and accidentally slide open. It stays closed.
I loved watching this with you. Thanks for creating new memories. 😊
the subtitles are kinda off at some parts lol. Love this movie btw and love your reaction
Yeah I heard 😔 cheers tho!!
Train To Busan is right up there with 28 Days Later in terms of infection.
It always gets me when the dad dies.. I cry every time man-
Silent watcher here!
Still one of my most favourite Korean movies. This is so iconic.
2:19 it always takes one to start an apocalypse.
Worst nightmare one of my worst nightmares, scientists usually the cause of it, it's scary but mostly sad to be in this situation well scary when living it but sad when watching it.
Stupidity is everyone's downfall.
The actor that plays as the father is also in:

• Squid Game mini series (as the main man recruiting people to enter the game)
RECOMMENDATION: All of us are Dead. It's a Korean zombie TV show. You would love it!
Nice reaction! The subtitles were absolutely trash, I'm sorry you didn't get to experience the movie with the official subtitles, they add to the story.
Yeah. I was so confused.
Heyo, just wanted to drop a line to say how much I'm enjoying your reactions. Love the FRIENDS reaction, as well as this one. I will stay tuned for more and I hope your channel continues to gain traction! :)
Thank you ☺️ fingers crossed hey!
And if i can recommend you a great zombie series is called “happiness” its korean zombie series played by great actors, great stories, good characters, and the music... i cant even describe u have to experience it
Its usually humans the scientists some worker that starts the zombie apocalypse
How didn’t I know you watched this?? Oscar, Gong Yoo and Choi Woosik in one frame? Yes please
this is a good gateway to korean cinema :D hope you react to more in the future
Made me cry then, made me cry now 😭
17:42 min. I agree with you, no one likes the group mentality of fear. 😐 But it happens. 😑
Anyone who doesn't cry on this movie at least at the last scene, doesn't have a soul and I don't trust them
As to the ending, I wonder how many people they did kill thinking they were infected
26:45 3, that includes the fetus, you forgot to mention it when you talk about the woman and the kid.
@6:00 Re: "The War of the Worlds"... PLEASE try and find a video of Jeff Wayne's musical that you can react to... You'll thank me. ;) :p
3:06 but I mean he was tired so he fell asleep and she shouldn't have wondered off without him knowing
You might also like the movie "The Night Eats the World".
The subs that say "Don't go, father! Come with us." isn't correct. It's closer to "Don't go. It's my fault/I was wrong." She's blaming herself, likely for wanting to go to Busan.
21:10 I wouldn't feel comfortable keeping my back facing an open door like close it
Oh my ur reaction in this r so cute n raw, hope u will keep doing it~😊
I love japanese and Korean movies/shows
Have you ever seen "I saw the devil"
I don't really know if you like disturbing movies
I haven’t and I’ve heard of it. Not sure whether I could see it but I’ll look into it more.
Helu, coming from your Hacksaw Ridge reaction vid & wanted to leave a recommendation! If you're interested in seeing Andrew Garfield in another quite different role I really recommend watching "Under the Banner of Heaven". Such an amazing series, one of the best I've ever seen.
This one? This one is a masterpiece.
Love all you’re work and keep it up! If you ever wanna visit milwaukee and come to our film fest, let me know! Once a year we have 3 theaters that show indie films from around the world! Great opportunity to meet directors, producers and plenty others! I would love to set you up downtown and show you around!!
Thanks again for the donation!!! Sounds awesome! I’ll have a think about it when I’ve got the channel more established ☺️
15:27 HAHAHAHAHAHA that "AH!" got me laughing so hard gosh
14:30 isn't it obvious to that evil character that if infected they turn quickly so quickly
No hate
So many reactors are saying the dad should've chopped off his hand
Let me tell you something.... chopping off hand to prevent the infection to spread is generally used in American and European movies, in Asian movies it's not that common
"This guy's kind of a workaholic"
Note: All koreans are workaholic
Speaking of these types of movies... would you consider reacting to the movie "Miracle in Cell No. 7" (preferably Korean version) ??? I've seen some really intense movies, but I personally "still can't believe" my own reaction to THAT movie... (!)
Hey Oscar! It would be so cool to see you react to 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later
Have you thought about watching The Walking Dead series? Just the greatest zombies series EVER!! It'll keep ya on your toes for sure!!
I watched the first 2 seasons years ago and don't remember much. Maybe I'll watch em down the track!
What bootleg version did you choose? Cause in the original there's no scenes where the girl says "I think there are zombies hiding here"
Bra, you just pop up when I finish watching train to Busan for the 10th time and want to watch some reaction 😅
20:45 i with you on that , like i despise him so much
Is it only me or the subs are wrong? I have seen this movie multiple times and I swear some lines were different.
Possibly? I wouldn’t know.
@@thecocoacouch it looks like just the beginning was weird the rest seems fine
@@thecocoacouchyes when the little girl and the main villian guy are talking after the homeless man is discovered they dont talk about zombies. The man tells the little girl basically if she doesnt study well in school she will end up like the homeless man to which the little girl says my mom says anyone who says stuff like that is a bad person. The man replies with something like, then your mom must of flunked school. Most of the subs are right thats the only part where they arent right i think. Im just curious if you like zombie things have you thought about doing reactions to the TV series The Walking Dead?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that and was confused, having seen this amazing film multiple times, both subbed and dubbed.
@@mwroach1251 I watched this movie way too many time xD
