We seriously cannot BELIEVE we just spent the last few days chipping ICE out of the lake so we could access our waterlines...you seriously cannot make this up! 🤣 As frustrating and unbelievable as it was, it felt incredibly empowering that we were not only able to troubleshoot the issue, but we we tackled it as a family! “Too Gay? Not gay enough?” What in the actually f***?! Seriously straight/gay people y’all got issues if that’s the kind of questions you are having. I’m with Todd. Someone is about to get cussed out for an issue that a company has caused. Why folks are complaining about content because it’s not what they want? Those folks need to take several seat. They have actually have an option.
I watch y’all’s videos and podcast. I may not comment at times but y’all know life happens. Funny thing is after watching your videos for sometime now, I catch myself saying “Oh. Im a Todd.” I entertainment from your content no matter what y’all do. If I didn’t I’d scoot. No need for me to explain why in comments.
I’m going to make comments for the butt hurt folks. I can’t seem to get past the “gay/too gay”. I got a question. Is their a quota or a ratio of gay wet are suppose to be? I been gay a long ass time and I’ve read the handbook. Ain’t s*** in there about it.

I said something similar on Instagram...We are here for Ty and Todd NOT their "business sense' A band I dearly LOVE just had an episode of doxxing and really scary stuff from a 'fan' who got things twisted in their parasocial relationship. People have had the audacity to be ANGRY at the guys for making the moves they have and I find it absolutely disgusting how ppl will talk to another human online coming from some false sense of entitlement to be able to tell someone what to do.

Last episode T & T spoke about haters who are not impressed now that they are no longer working their asses off on the land. Honestly I am more invested in this new content as I find it more relatable. I wish them nothing but luck and look forward to this new chapter in their lives and feel lucky to be able to witness it.

Look on the bright side. If You both were still working regular jobs... I would compare the haters to people you have to work with day after day after day. At least being online you can ignore them and still be fine. I am sure with so many subscribers the haters are a very small portion of your audience.
I started following your RUclips channel because I thought the idea of living off grid is really cool. I continued watching because I really enjoyed watching the two of you, regardless of what you are doing. The podcast allows your viewers to learn more about the two of you. The two of you are what makes both your RUclips and podcasts worth watching. Keep doing what makes the two of you happy and don’t worry about the haters. BTW, We live in Maine and feel your pain with frozen water lines and backed up septic systems. Been there, done that.
If people don't like how things have changed they don't have to follow their account anymore. I'm interested in seeing where this journey is going to take them.
You two are pure gold. When life sends you a curve ball - and life sends you many - you sort it out and move on. As a fellow Canadian who has no desire to live off grid because of our winters and because I just couldn’t do it, I just want you two to thrive and be happy. Here's my tangent: I started watching a channel called "Foxes Afloat" because they were living and traveling the canals of the UK. They've moved on to living on a croft in the Scottish highlands.

I jumped to their channel and started watching. Ever since watching Outlander I have been fascinated with Scotland...and men in kilts.
I started watching them (Foxes Afloat ) from day one! And LOVED all the knowledge and history I learned from them! They are also the cutest sweet guys. And talking about depression on top of all of that takes guts to put out there in the universe! I just KNOW that they have helped many people who also struggle with the same issues. I loved watching their new boat being built , it was so cool to watch them have it put in the water. ( although I was a nervous mess, like sit on the edge of my seat! ) And now, we are STILL learning, along with them, about their new surroundings and the history. AND the grass fire made my eyes leak heavily. But they were blessed to making it through. I also love the honey bees. ANYWAY…..so sorry for the novel. My point is don’t judge! I enjoy both channels ! As an American , wayyyyy down south, they are a breath of fresh air to me with all that is going on in the world. They all 4 take my mind to “Far Away Lands” and I love it all! ❤
Cool video, My relationship of 5 years ended a month ago. The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her.
its difficult to let go of someone you love, i was in a similar situation, my relationship of 12 years ended, but i couldnt' just let her go i did all i could to get her back, i had to seek the help of a spiritual counsellor who helped me bring her back

Todd, you said, "... in 10 years, no one is going to know who Tyler and Todd are..." and added "...you can only watch people babble on a couch for so long." You and Tyler are far more precious than those statements indicate. Something you (possible) fail to realize is truly how strong and impactful your simple, candid observations are. You two operate in a world that, while at a distance, allows us to relate to you--understanding what you are experiencing, your joys, your disappointments. In a world where Social Media is meant to bring us closer together, your channels (both Tangents and your original channel) actually accomplish that. In line with many of your assessments about Social Media and content creators, much of Social Media is driving us further apart. By giving us a real, non-crafted glimpse into parts of your life creates the community you see below. I live in a high altitude mountain pass with a wood stove as my primary heat. It is a private road and shoveling is required to maintain access to my house. I want you guys to know that you are loved. Ignore the idiots who bash you or say anything negative! You have your own reasons for doing what you do... it's your life, and I feel blessed to be a viewer that gets to spend time watching you. You're both so amazing. I just love you. You're so positive and upbeat. I love the comment about letting Squirrel be the queen of the house. That is hilarious. I have a cat named Bitsy Boo as well, and I just love her. I can see that you love yours. Your dogs are so beautiful. I love watching youtube videos when people really show how much they love their animals... like the care you showed when your pup had to have surgery, and then you lovingly helped your dog walk for so long. That to me is wonderful. When you said that you are best friends as well as a married couple; that reminded me of my partner Jeanie who passed away in 2006. We were like that. She was my best friend as well as my partner. We spent all of our time together just like you guys, and I wouldn't have had it happen any other way. Now she's gone, and I miss her so much...

A couple of months before I retired a stranger gave me the best advice: take six months to relax and say “no” to everything. It takes time to adjust to not having things that have to be done at a certain time. It also takes awhile to fill those slots with what is enjoyable. As Tyler said, “every day is an adventure.” You two are so mentally healthy, balance each other so well, it’s a joy to listen to you on the podcast or watch the videos. My only problem with the podcasts being from the cabin…Squirrel doesn’t explore around in the background, or walk across the couch back. Love the tangent on the curated videos! Agree completely.
Don't change a thing, I'm 60 my husband is 51 and we totally enjoy your videos. At times I'm just so jealous as I'm in the sundown phase of life and your just starting the climb. Again you two are wonderful.

I found you guys because of the “off the grid” content, which is so completely unlike my current lifestyle or any lifestyle I would choose for myself that I don’t understand my fascination with it! 🤷♀️. Anyway, the point I intended to make was that, despite how I first started watching your channel, at this point I just love you guys so much I would probably watch your channel even if you moved to a big city! A grandmother here - I love how genuine you both are. Glad you have the cabin to reset and relax. Sorry about the water pipes. Two of the homes we lived in had a similar water freezing problem, and we had to run a tiny stream of water at night to keep the water from freezing. It was our only option at the time. Sad it had to happen to you.

I’m in VT so totally get the cold! In a past house had septic freeze and backup INTO the cellar on Christmas 🤢 And one summer having to bath in a pond for a month while still working full time as a nurse. These things can push you right to the edge! Hang in there, you both are so resilient and I love your stories. You are awesome just the way you are and whatever way you need to do things is perfect for you. Screw the haters. You two make me laugh so much! What strikes me the most about this episode is how much the two of you have learned in the last 5+ years. You've learned about RV living, geodesic dome life, electrical, plumbing, solar, gardening, building your own shipping container home and all that goes into that (both good and challenging) and now the lake life. We see that it can get overwhelming for you but you always come out on top and laugh together all the way! Great job!
I’m lost in admiration at how you guys cope with the winter conditions there! We are a bunch of wimps here in the UK - everybody is freaked out at the moment with temperatures in the low minuses and, with the exception of Scotland and northern England, a light smattering of snow! Keep warm guys and hibernate if you feel like it - tell those off-grid purists to do one - you have paid your “roughing it” dues. Love from England!💕💕

I absolutely agree with Tylor in as “if I never see a snowflake again, I will be so happy”. That is why my husband and I moved to Mexico last May. We don’t ever plan to move back to Canada. We love it here in Mexico. Best decision we ever made!! Good luck with your homestead you two. You’ll work it out one way or another.

I am 78 so i have learned some things. The best ever thing I learned is people project their feelings and beliefs on others. It has nothing to do with you guys but is all about them and you figured it out. Congratulations! Great job!!!!!! Always set emotional boundaries to protect yourselves. You are the most important! Keep going love you guys. One reason as a single woman I rented for years was I didn’t want to deal with the maintenance! Someone gave me a home when I came back to my hometown. It was next to my Mom so I could care for her. So now I have maintenance but I sold my Mom’s home to a great guy who renovates homes and resells. He has all the skills so he helps maintain my home for me at no charge. You guys are amazing!

I get what you're saying. I lived in the States for 13 years... Virginia. I know exactly what you mean. I keep up with the news and listen to it every day and am saddened and angry by what I hear as well. We in Canada pray for our brothers & sisters in the states that things will settle down and there won't be a mad rush from the states to Canada if the inevitable happens, hopefully all will be well.

I have watched you for several years because you are real...you are not fake, not trying to prove anything to anyone. I enjoy watching you conqueror the disasters and celebrate the victories. I come from a very cold country, and THAT'S why I never could understand how on Earth could you live the way you did. I thought that probably men handle cold differently or that you are just generally very strong physically and mentally. (which is obviously true, even if you do not feel like this). I loved this whole tangent episode! You two are such positive role models!!!! I spent 25 years in the US Amy, about 6 years deployed. This video reminded me of my last 15 month deployment. I found silver lining every day while deployed, and most certainly experience silver linings everyday since. I’m not in a 120 degree Fahrenheit desert, wearing 60 lbs of gear, and I, (mostly) sleeping at home in my own bed. So much to be thankful for every day. Thanks for this reminder.

You mentioned people not knowing who you are in future and I just had to share that while at Darcy and Jer show in Portland last weekend the 10 or so people I sat next to all shared how we found them. Mine was you guys, 5 of them all started following you guys after that conversation. I in turn started following 3 others on how they had found Darcy and Jer. It’s those organic in person experiences that will keep you relevant because some of us do look for genuine vs curated. Tangent of my own, my cat Clawd is in love with Squirell and my 6 year old asks every Sunday afternoon if it’s time to watch you guys.

I laughed, I gasped, I got angry for you, I just wanted to pat your backs and say, “Never mind those naysayers, you are doing just fine!” I think the experience on the land has made you both much more resilient than all those silly people ever will be!! We live in rural northern Ontario. We live in a 100 year old farm house that was my great grandfather’s. That being said, there is constant maintenance. 5 years ago our water line froze in February and the only thing we could do is wait for it to thaw(beginning of May) let me tell you, it was inconvenient … but there was lots of snow outside to melt and then we would fill up totes with water. Our friends from town would say we were crazy and not sure how we could do it. My answer was always… I’d rather it be the water line, than not having electricity or heat, imagine that!! You get used to the things you just have to do on a farm. Keep up the awesome work you two, but do take time for yourselves ❤

I can so relate to your struggles. I live in the country. I recently had water well issues. I know exactly how you feel. It would have been super helpful for the previous owners to leave a little manual giving you a heads up, but, oh, well. You are doing a great job rolling with the surprise leaks and freezes. Troubleshoot now to see what could go wrong this summer...lol. Kidding/not kidding.
I don't get the haters either. If they don't have anything nice or encouraging to say, keep on scrolling. And, btw, I use Earth Breeze, too. I bought a year's supply last year when they had a special.

I've been part of the TT community since the pandemic, and one of the reasons I continue to come back is simply, because "I see you, and thus I see me." You're not just a form of entertainment.
