I'm glad to see you again, continuing to react to Nightwish's music! Many surprises await you, since each of their songs is unique, and at the same time easily recognizable as Nightwish. This is due, in the opinion of many of us, to the genius composer who is Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard guy. I am very curious what will be your next steps in this journey of musical discovery 🤘
This band is such a collaboration of extremely talented and professional musicians. Each one a consumate artist in their own right. The result, every time, is masterful and enthralling. I think you have done Nightwish before, and if you have, you probably have received Gabriel's list. You can't go wrong following it, especially to insure that you get the videos that are best produced, both visually and musically. Next two probably should be Storytime, and then one of my personal favorites - Romanticide.
Welcome to the world of Nightwish. You will discover that Tuomas (genius behind Nightiwsh and composer of masterpieces) is the greatest composer of my lifetime. When he found Floor, his color pallet and gamut increased multifold. He challenges her and she challenges him, and damn does it work of all of us! Marco, male singer and bassist has unfortunately left the band, but we love him with all of our heart and wish him well. Emppu is the only remaining founding member, with Tuomas, and he is simply unrated for virtuosity and contributions to the sound of the band. You will create a very special place in your heart for him, as he is one of the kindest people on the planet. The drummer on the video is Jukka, and he suffered miserably with insomnia and had to leave the band, but contacted a friend and mentor, Kai Haito, to take his place. While Kai does not hit with the power of Jukka, he is technically one of the best drummers in the world. The person who did not appear in this video is Troy, the multi-instrumentalist, and now singer of harmonies to Floor. I'll be along for the ride, for I could see the passion and pleasure in your eyes as the song continued. See you soon with another Nightwish masterpiece.

Thank you, lovely reaction! Just Nightwish doing Nightwish things! And as you have surely noticed, although they are all outstanding, none of them standout. A couple of suggestions here for the future (but, please, Gabriel's list is way to go :-) And btw, a new subscriber here! "Dead Boy's Poem" is brilliantly beautiful and really touches the heart. It is the only song I've seen where Emppu does not smile as he plays. You can also see his emotion as he waves his fingers at the strings during the solo, almost wanting the poignant pause to hurry up. "The Poet & The Pendulum" requires a bit of background ... it is considered one of the "holy trinity" and is the most devastatingly emotional songs. I'd wait until you have a stronger feel for the band and their songs. In my opinion, the masterpiece and greatest composition of my lifetime is "The Greatest Show on Earth" and is the musical interpretation of the Richard Dawkins book on Evolution. It tells the entire story of this planet, and the life upon it, in approximately twenty minutes. It is so brilliantly composed, that I believe one should get college credits in evolutionary science for listening to it. Enjoy the journey!

Hello dear reactor, Nightwish is been my favorite symphonic metal band for years. I've seen those eras with two previous singers, first Tarja, then Anette. I have nothing to complain they fitted Nightwish at that time. And now Floor is there. I am so happy to have all of their studio albums since 1996 including the rare 1996 collector's edition album. I was at their last concert this year 16th June, and I tell you if you ever have a chance seeing them live go! When I drove back from Vaasa city (Finland) to my home (Oulu city) about 400 kilometers...I just was...what did I saw and listened. My cousin told me years ago that Floor is God's gift Nightwish (I don't believe in God) and I said Nightwish is God's gift to metal music. The people in that crowd I was, they were such nice and polite, we were all friends and polite people. Nightwish will publish their new album 2024 and after that they propably start touring again. I will be the first in line seeing them again. Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards) is our metal Mozart who writes and composes these beautiful music. And I have one question to ask him, but I don't say it in RUclips before I see them live. Have a beautiful journey with Nightwish dear reactor.

You couldn’t have picked a better Nightwish song, it gives you an amazing insight into what the band is about! Floor is the third singer they’ve had, Tarja (pronounced Tarya) was first, she was a trained operatic soprano and gave the band their original feel; Annette was the second, more of a pop rock singer she was ok but in a lot of people’s opinion the wrong direction for Nightwish to have followed - she also suffered from ill health which explains why Floor came to them. A lot of the newer fans and some of the older fans think that Floor was gods gift to them - there will always be those who are still faithful to the past singers but a minority now. As I said this was a great start, Romanticide is a great second reaction from the same concert, you will see Floor in a different light in this one, and more fun! A great third option is Yours is an empty hope, live from Wembley, here you see Floor in yet another different light! I’m not going to elaborate, it would spoil the fun! So now you’re a Nightwish fan gurl 😂 very predictable 😜 🌹
Hey Darrell, I basically agree with everything you said except this part; "Anette was the second, more of a pop rock singer she was ok but in a lot of people’s opinion the wrong direction for Nightwish to have followed". The way I see it is more like, Anette is a great singer, but not for a band like Nightwish, or any other metal band. Anette's voice is to tiny for that kind of music. And in that regard I do think the band made a judgement error to pick her as their leadsinger. However,....both Anette albums; Dark Passion Play (2007) and Imaginaerum (2011) are great albums. There was nothing wrong with the band when it came down to music composal choices.

I discovered Nightwish w/ Floor Jansen in 2018 and while Nightwish is one rabbit hole to fall into, Floor Jansen has had an over 20 year career including recently releasing her first SOLO CD which is more mainstream music and not rock or metal. Jump into BOTH rabbit holes because they are FUN, EPIC and AWESOME!!!
Nightwish and Ren reactions on the same channel, always a bonus. That about covers my Spotify activity, those are the two artists that get repeated endlessly. I highly recommend you go straight into the deep end and react to (In my opinion) their magnum opus, The Greatest Show On Earth.
@@bennybuffylove OK, well thank you for that. Both 10/10 for me in very different ways. Ren is an outstanding artist, incredibly multi-talented. IMO one of the most talented artists out there today. Have you listened to much or just one song and made the decision? You could listen to ten Ren songs and have ten entirely different sounds and experiences. I can 100% safely say that he is more diverse than Nightwish and Nightwish are my all time favourite band. More importanly his words connect with so many people on a personal level. His music changes lives, as I am sure Nightwish' music has done for some people too, but nowhere near on the same level. Hi Ren, Suicide, Dominoes, Chalk Outlines, Diazepam; all incredibly important and impactful pieces, Suicide in particular is out there saving lives.
Ok, I went in and checked out 12 Ren videos. Millions of views. My reaction is, how can there be so many people that got a taste for this crap, let alone replay it. And we all know, reactions channels will like and say anything to get subscribers. Besides, a lot of his stuff has a little or lot of rap crap in it. Rap is the worst noise that was ever started. My honest reaction, what more can I say.
Well, that just puts you firmly in the closed-minded camp with people who hate metal becase it is "just noise" or refuse to listen to Nightwish because they are "too operatic" failing to recognise that there is a lot more to their repertoire. So what do you dislike about rap? Is it the speaking rhythmically to a beat, which is the very definition of rap. Sooooo I assume you absolutely detest Romanticide, especially the live Wacken 2013 version. After all, that bit before the banshee wail... rap. Rap to metal music, but Marko was rapping. Dismissing someone because they rap is just closed-minded. I'm ging to assume you heard him start to rap and tuned out without actualy listening to what he was saying, also the songs I listed to you... very light on rap. All that said, judging by the tone of your response and the fact you just HAD to volunteer how much you dislike Ren even though no-one asked you, I guess everything I am saying is pointless. Funny thing, I was never particularly into rap, but Ren's music has opened my eyes a bit more. I mean they weren't as firmly taped closed as yours are, I would never dismiss an artist out of hand just because of their songs are done in a style I don't like. Your loss.

I think you interpreted the song and its parts very well. Nightwish is a really versatile band, everything starts with the composer Tuomas who is really great at building different moods and styles into songs. They don't just have one specific formula for what they do, they go all over the map. This song is clearly structured like a movie soundtrack and after all, the song has "Score" in its name. The first Pirates movie came out in 2003 and this song was composed in 2003/04, so there is certainly a little influence in that one part. Not too much though, so it's nice for the listener. Have fun exploring Nightwish, they are a truly phenomenal band.

Floors ending in itself make this performance the definitive GLS. So many like myself were captured by Floor with Wacken 13 GLS. But sound out the original Tarja version, with chorus. And sound out Andra Ariadna’s cover, she sings both the lead AND the chorus singers.
You can do it Roni! Tuomas the keyboardist composes most of the music and lyrics for Nightwish. He take inspiration from many movie soundtrack composers such as Hans Zimmer. The interlude is designed to create tension and anticipation. Well done. Hope to see you again very soon.

I think you'll enjoy The Poet and the Pendulum (the official live version). I think it's the song in which Tuomas finally unleashed his creativity after parting ways with Tarja, but it's got to be the live version, because Floor is so much better than Anette. Also, I'm a sucker for long complex songs that change, intertwine, and still tell a complete story.

And again a soul is taken by our Dutch Valkyrie Goddes of Metal, more Floor Jansen, watch the beste zangers 2019, she sings in different styles and different languages.. She sings O Mio Babbino Caro and from the gamecube game Final Fantasy Chronicals, Sound of the Wind, there is even a video with all the endings of GLS and a video where she even sings the Yellow Pages in a radio-show.. The interesting thing about the guitar solo, it's not improvised - it's scored to be played exactly as he played it. There is nothing left to chance here. It's not a jam band.

This band is such a collaboration of extremely talented and professional musicians. Each one a consumate artist in their own right. The result, every time, is masterful and enthralling. I think you have done Nightwish before, and if you have, you probably have received Gabriel's list. You can't go wrong following it, especially to insure that you get the videos that are best produced, both visually and musically. Next two probably should be Storytime, and then one of my personal favorites - Romanticide.

Welcome to the world of Nightwish. You will discover that Tuomas (genius behind Nightiwsh and composer of masterpieces) is the greatest composer of my lifetime. When he found Floor, his color pallet and gamut increased multifold. He challenges her and she challenges him, and damn does it work of all of us! Marco, male singer and bassist has unfortunately left the band, but we love him with all of our heart and wish him well. Emppu is the only remaining founding member, with Tuomas, and he is simply unrated for virtuosity and contributions to the sound of the band. You will create a very special place in your heart for him, as he is one of the kindest people on the planet. The drummer on the video is Jukka, and he suffered miserably with insomnia and had to leave the band, but contacted a friend and mentor, Kai Haito, to take his place. While Kai does not hit with the power of Jukka, he is technically one of the best drummers in the world. The person who did not appear in this video is Troy, the multi-instrumentalist, and now singer of harmonies to Floor. I'll be along for the ride, for I could see the passion and pleasure in your eyes as the song continued. See you soon with another Nightwish masterpiece.

"Dead Boy's Poem" is brilliantly beautiful and really touches the heart. It is the only song I've seen where Emppu does not smile as he plays. You can also see his emotion as he waves his fingers at the strings during the solo, almost wanting the poignant pause to hurry up.
"The Poet & The Pendulum" requires a bit of background ... it is considered one of the "holy trinity" and is the most devastatingly emotional songs. I'd wait until you have a stronger feel for the band and their songs.
In my opinion, the masterpiece and greatest composition of my lifetime is "The Greatest Show on Earth" and is the musical interpretation of the Richard Dawkins book on Evolution. It tells the entire story of this planet, and the life upon it, in approximately twenty minutes. It is so brilliantly composed, that I believe one should get college credits in evolutionary science for listening to it.

Hello dear reactor, Nightwish is been my favorite symphonic metal band for years. I've seen those eras with two previous singers, first Tarja, then Anette. I have nothing to complain they fitted Nightwish at that time. And now Floor is there. I am so happy to have all of their studio albums since 1996 including the rare 1996 collector's edition album. I was at their last concert this year 16th June, and I tell you if you ever have a chance seeing them live go! When I drove back from Vaasa city (Finland) to my home (Oulu city) about 400 kilometers...I just was...what did I saw and listened. My cousin told me years ago that Floor is God's gift Nightwish (I don't believe in God) and I said Nightwish is God's gift to metal music. The people in that crowd I was, they were such nice and polite, we were all friends and polite people. Nightwish will publish their new album 2024 and after that they propably start touring again. I will be the first in line seeing them again. Tuomas Holopainen (keyboards) is our metal Mozart who writes and composes these beautiful music. And I have one question to ask him, but I don't say it in RUclips before I see them live. Have a beautiful journey with Nightwish dear reactor.

You couldn’t have picked a better Nightwish song, it gives you an amazing insight into what the band is about! Floor is the third singer they’ve had, Tarja (pronounced Tarya) was first, she was a trained operatic soprano and gave the band their original feel; Annette was the second, more of a pop rock singer she was ok but in a lot of people’s opinion the wrong direction for Nightwish to have followed - she also suffered from ill health which explains why Floor came to them. A lot of the newer fans and some of the older fans think that Floor was gods gift to them - there will always be those who are still faithful to the past singers but a minority now.
As I said this was a great start, Romanticide is a great second reaction from the same concert, you will see Floor in a different light in this one, and more fun! A great third option is Yours is an empty hope, live from Wembley, here you see Floor in yet another different light! I’m not going to elaborate, it would spoil the fun!

Hey Darrell, I basically agree with everything you said except this part; "Anette was the second, more of a pop rock singer she was ok but in a lot of people’s opinion the wrong direction for Nightwish to have followed". The way I see it is more like, Anette is a great singer, but not for a band like Nightwish, or any other metal band. Anette's voice is to tiny for that kind of music. And in that regard I do think the band made a judgement error to pick her as their leadsinger. However,....both Anette albums; Dark Passion Play (2007) and Imaginaerum (2011) are great albums. There was nothing wrong with the band when it came down to music composal choices.

SO GLAD you got to this!!! Aren't they AMAZING???? I hate the music industry here in the U.S. (I'm in Florida). I discovered Nightwish w/ Floor Jansen in 2018 and while Nightwish is one rabbit hole to fall into, Floor Jansen has had an over 20 year career including recently releasing her first SOLO CD which is more mainstream music and not rock or metal. Jump into BOTH rabbit holes because they are FUN, EPIC and AWESOME!!!

@@bennybuffylove OK, well thank you for that. Both 10/10 for me in very different ways. Ren is an outstanding artist, incredibly multi-talented. IMO one of the most talented artists out there today.
Have you listened to much or just one song and made the decision? You could listen to ten Ren songs and have ten entirely different sounds and experiences. I can 100% safely say that he is more diverse than Nightwish and Nightwish are my all time favourite band.
More importanly his words connect with so many people on a personal level. His music changes lives, as I am sure Nightwish' music has done for some people too, but nowhere near on the same level.
Hi Ren, Suicide, Dominoes, Chalk Outlines, Diazepam; all incredibly important and impactful pieces, Suicide in particular is out there saving lives.
Ok, I went in and checked out 12 Ren videos. Millions of views. My reaction is, how can there be so many people that got a taste for this crap, let alone replay it. And we all know, reactions channels will like and say anything to get subscribers. Besides, a lot of his stuff has a little or lot of rap crap in it. Rap is the worst noise that was ever started. My honest reaction, what more can I say.
Well, that just puts you firmly in the closed-minded camp with people who hate metal becase it is "just noise" or refuse to listen to Nightwish because they are "too operatic" failing to recognise that there is a lot more to their repertoire.
So what do you dislike about rap? Is it the speaking rhythmically to a beat, which is the very definition of rap. Sooooo I assume you absolutely detest Romanticide, especially the live Wacken 2013 version. After all, that bit before the banshee wail... rap. Rap to metal music, but Marko was rapping.
Dismissing someone because they rap is just closed-minded. I'm ging to assume you heard him start to rap and tuned out without actualy listening to what he was saying, also the songs I listed to you... very light on rap.
All that said, judging by the tone of your response and the fact you just HAD to volunteer how much you dislike Ren even though no-one asked you, I guess everything I am saying is pointless.
Funny thing, I was never particularly into rap, but Ren's music has opened my eyes a bit more. I mean they weren't as firmly taped closed as yours are, I would never dismiss an artist out of hand just because of their songs are done in a style I don't like.

Faites le festival Open Air Wacken 2013, vous êtes sur de ne pas vous tromper, vous venez d'écouté la chanson 13 sur les 15 du set complet. Guitar player, Emppu is a co founder, meaning he is one of the original members when the band was born in 1996.
All but 2 members are Finnish, Floor is from Netherlands, and Troy Donockley (multi instrumentalist) hails from the UK.

I think you interpreted the song and its parts very well. Nightwish is a really versatile band, everything starts with the composer Tuomas who is really great at building different moods and styles into songs. They don't just have one specific formula for what they do, they go all over the map. This song is clearly structured like a movie soundtrack and after all, the song has "Score" in its name. The first Pirates movie came out in 2003 and this song was composed in 2003/04, so there is certainly a little influence in that one part. Not too much though, so it's nice for the listener. Have fun exploring Nightwish, they are a truly phenomenal band.

Floors ending in itself make this performance the definitive GLS. So many like myself were captured by Floor with Wacken 13 GLS. But sound out the original Tarja version, with chorus. And sound out Andra Ariadna’s cover, she sings both the lead AND the chorus singers.

I think it's the song in which Tuomas finally unleashed his creativity after parting ways with Tarja, but it's got to be the live version, because Floor is so much better than Anette.
Also, I'm a sucker for long complex songs that change, intertwine, and still tell a complete story.

And again a soul is taken by our Dutch Valkyrie Goddes of Metal, more Floor Jansen, watch the beste zangers 2019, she sings in different styles and different languages.. She sings O Mio Babbino Caro and from the gamecube game Final Fantasy Chronicals, Sound of the Wind, there is even a video with all the endings of GLS and a video where she even sings the Yellow Pages in a radio-show.. At the end the backtrack and the spectators are singing: My fall will be for you My love will be in you If you be the one to cut me I'll bleed forever...for some Prog music listen to Ayreon, Valley of the Queens and The Day The World Break Down are good ones to start with...

The interesting thing about the guitar solo, it's not improvised - it's scored to be played exactly as he played it. There is nothing left to chance here. It's not a jam band.
Yet it felt so natural and had a feeling to it. It was great!
