- here's how to unlock all of the prismatic fragments. not as simple as strand or stasis, definitely warrants some guidance. spoiler warnings for some campaign stuff. first impressions more likely after the raid comes out since i want to include the post-raid mission. short thoughts on tiktok right now.

Thanks for pointing out the campaign fragments. I beat the legendary campaign solo today and was so laser focused on beating the missions that I didn't bother to check.
I did the same. I don't think they've had any secrets through d2 campaigns until now. I didn't bother checking either.

I thought I was going to find one when I entered the room with the war beast statue. I looked to my left and all I saw was a wall in a dark corner. So I just looked the other way and kept going.

This is a way cooler way of rolling out subclass upgrades than the typical mindless grindfest we usually endure, I like it
I love this. I have to play in the open world and either explore or find cool little secrets. Way more rewarding. I don’t mind grind, but sometimes grind doesn’t belong. And I feel this is one of those cases.
Agreed. Figuring out puzzles is a lot more fun than “shoot bad guy, earn currency, spend said currency”. Bungie went balls to the walls tho because i can’t figure out some of them so I’m glad Datto made this.

@@sonnyankau9239 Secrets and rewards for exploration like this are what keep the game feeling alive. Sure, a guide may be neccacary for some, but rewards for exploration and secret solving will always beat just shooting bad guys for the 400th time.

Just glad unlocking for one class unlocks it for all, so glad Bungie is changing things like this and whatever your best gear score is to account wide and not per character anymore, that drove me insane doing everything three times and was so much pointless grinding.

I don’t understand how people find secrets in this game let alone so fast. Crazy stuff
tbh it's just kind of by accident, someone accidentally falls into a hole, finds something, lets people know, and it spirals from there.
As the other comment said, really just the accumulation of accidental discoveries, shared between players. With some few hundreds of thousands of players playing, you only need one of them to find any given secret and share it with others.
On accident usually. But, when you have however many million of us out there, finding these things on accident and then reporting back on it to each other, it's easier to pool our collective experiences together to paint a grander picture.
Community. Datto is not alone, even in his fire team. Not to mention an entire discord, clan ect
it's also the content creators literal job to find stuff like this, and will do 10 hour streams of playing the game where they look for this kind of stuff. People that play 1-2 hours per day could never find all of these on their own.
Today I learned three things:
- sped up Titan platforming sounds are funny
- sped up Destiny music at 13:49 sounds like a Tim Burton soundtrack
- the locations and mechanics of the prismatic fragments

Seems like bungie actually listened to players when they pointed out how grindy stasis and strand was. This is a genius way for players to explore the environment and be rewarded for exploring
how is locking class features behind puzzles & hiding places (all of which will be completely trivialized through a guide anyway) "genius"? lmfao

It requires you to spend the time to find them, and most of us are going to mostly find these by ourselves. I missed the chest In the plane but got the other 2 without any help. @@sonnyankau9239

@@sonnyankau9239 Genius is a bit too far, but it's definitely good, and how much you ruin it for yourself by using guides is up to you. Personally I use the guides to have a general idea on what to do and then enjoy experiencing things on my own.
Final shape reminds me of TTK days when you’d be looking for new things and going after collectibles a lot.
For anyone who finished all the cysts without getting all three memories I was just able to get more in the searing light cyst in the seclusion (found at the same place as slayer you just need to activate the other bird). Might also work for people trying to farm without finishing all six just havent tried it. It also happed to be the cyst where my last memory was located so maybe trying running the cyst in the location of the missing fragment.

I like the idea ofhiding them in the open world to encourage exploration and planetary events. I don't like hiding them in the campaign missions.
I don’t like them being hidden without any indication that they are even hidden or how to obtain them. Not sure how any average player could be expected to get all the fragments without a video when the fragments are essential elements to the game. People keep calling this a puzzle, but there’s no puzzle here at all, just hidden mechanics and chests.
@@TheHeadincharge yeah and not every player is going to look at RUclips. Exploring and planetary events are part of the game. Destiny has not really been a game with missable items in story missions. So to start now makes no sense.
@@tomz6594Yeah it’s really just such an odd choice to me. These fragments are super important to the game and having no prompt on how to obtain any of them feels like an oversight, especially when there are full quests for basically everything else. There are already quests that have you do world events, so why not add one to do five chests to get the darkness key? The hidden campaign ones are just ridiculous for the reasons you mentioned. Definitely doesn’t ruin the expansion or anything, but it would have been nice to obtain these without a guide.

@@TheHeadincharge At least dark and light memory fragments are something you'll get by chance while grinding & doing Micah's quest, but the campaign ones are almost impossible without hints if you don't know where to look. At least some vague unlock directions would've been nice, something like "This fragment can be found hidden in the Ascent mission". I legit thought the three I missed from the campaign were somehow related to the mutated cysts until I finally looked it up, before that I almost went insane because repeatedly grinding light memories kept sending me to the chests I had already opened.
Farming the vestiges in a cyst does indeed work. Thank you for the suggestion!
For the campaign missions, do they have to be on legendary or can be be done on normal?
I can confirm what datto said about deleting some if you have a 10 stack and just killing enemies in cysts. You can go straight to the cyst as well you don’t have to do alone in the dark (assuming you’ve finished them all)
I had 10 light and I deleted 6. I did the smothering darkness cyst and got a legendary light to drop from a random enemy. Was able to immediately grab my last fragment.

For farming I think it wants u to finish it before u go farm so if it's not dropping try fi fishing and redoing it. Or do the next cyst in order and get them there

The Cyst method did work where it seemed only that one Cyst actually dropped them
I completed Found in the Dark and Lost in the Light on my Hunter but now the additional supers and abilities are not appearing on my Titan. Any ideas? The quest is also missing
Def prefer hearing First to Last (datto guide music) over the sped up audio. That song is a bop and a half

I tested going back into the same Alone In The Dark mission that was dropping the light pieces (it was the second quest that dropped them for me) and the high tier enemies no longer drop more after getting 5 originally so as a heads up don't waste your time, just beat the mission and hope to get the next 5 in the next quest. Hope this helps.
Oi Datto it seems light memory fragments can be acquired by lit up enemies in the cysts that are next to the daily match made overthrow zone. So if anyone needs those still, give that a try
Idk if anyone will see this but honor 4:25 is actually quicker to start up the adventure in the Pale Heart Tower with the Cabal in that area, starts you up the top
I don't think the chest appears in the adventure, it might have to be patrol. I just tried this and the chest wasn't there.

I was able to find all but Bravery, Devotion and Sacrifice on my own. Not sure how they expected us to realize they hid those in the campaign, but otherwise I found the rest of it a lot more enjoyable than Stasis or Strand.

6:50 for those wondering, you don’t need to delete. Just spend the legendary vestige and the next one you collect merges. I had 5 blues that wouldn’t merge, then got a 6th and it worked fine.

for some reason on ascent (the part that says find a way forward) the guy that is blocking the mountain is immune what to do
None of the cist missions are spawning the guys to get the vestiges for me. No clue what's up
For the solar crystal encounter: If you are facing the runes, and count the dunk spots clockwise from far left to far right, the sequence is always 4-8-1.
Hearing this man say fragments brings me back to TTK and all those calcified fragments
You can also get Memory Vestiges of Light from Overthrow

Is it possible to replay campaign missions after you clear it or would i need to go through with another character?
There’s a node to replay them on the pale heart map.
I like finding them A LOT but I personally am not a fan of having to go back through the campaign missions for fragments especially since it isn't explained that they're hidden in the missions and not just the area missions took place in
Note: I'd like to clarify that the only thing I *don't* like about prismatic was the facets of devotion, sacrifice, and bravery,
I don't like repeating story missions in any game after doing it once, everything else about prismatic I thoroughly enjoyed unlocking especially if it took some thinking,
I only don't like how there is no information given about how fragments are hidden in story missions since it breaks the trend of most of them being obtained in free roam

I missed the first one in the plane wreckage. How do l get back there now to get that fragment?
@@Knightf6 you HAVE to reload the mission and progress to that area for EVERY mission fragment, hence the comment I made, they do not show up in the open world

@@papaclaps4136 I'm not playing final shape on my other characters it's not a lot it's just tedious almost exactly like how stasis was tedious,
my point is it's a good way of doing the fragments but without proper knowledge, making people backtrack is kind of annoying, if the fragments were specifically marked with hints that they were in the missions I think it would be better
(but that's just me since I had ZERO idea there were hidden fragments in the missions until people started sharing it)

How to unlock void and strand on my hunter, my 2nd character? Found in the dark and lost in the light aren't available after my campaign was over

the light vestiges aren’t dropping for me at all so idk if i’m softlocked out of it
I checked for some of these chest but they weren't there at the location. Is there something you're suppose to do to make them spawn? I even beat the campaign already 🤔
So if we didn't knew it can we go back to specific mission and just get them and quit?
IMPORTANT PSA!!!: if you are not getting light vestiges, delete ALL your vestiges (or use your darkness ones first, just make sure you have no dark or light), THEN go to a cyst mission. I’d recommend aerial ace as it is probably the easiest one to farm. Once you get your legendary light vestige, LEAVE. Do not farm up because you will bug out and not get legendary light vestiges anymore. I was on the verge of tilting till I saw someone say to do these steps. Save yourself the pain and annoyance

I think the ascent mission is bugged, cannot get past the first encounter where you have to break the blight to enter the snow part of the mountain. no matter what I do I cannot break that guys sheild and the apparent buff's to do it are locked behind a darkness buff that doesn't exist.
