One of the better applications of Heartshadow is Crota; if nobody brought Tractor Cannon (or if you just wanna use this to extend someone else's Tractor Cannon) you can do a Heartshadow heavy attack into an aggressive shotgun shot and then back to Heartshadow for another heavy to perma-weaken Crota and do reasonable-ish damage at the same time. Shoutouts to Aegis for pioneering that one.

I did use weavewalk with the dawn chorus build before it was nerfed(they nerfed threadlings/NTTE turret dmg when you are in weavewalk), you tag the enemy with sky-burner then enter the weave, the scorch ticks deploy perched threadling, the scorch ticks also regenerate melee energy.
You will always have full melee as long as you dont over use it+ have invis/dmg reduction on command.

Ruinous Effigy, Wanderer Tangle, Eager Edge sword. The idea is to prep up whatever ball you want or need before invading. get devour up, then start chucking nades, slide to break, then barricade / lance / melee something to get the nade regen flowing while you kill things with your gun, then do it all over again.
alternatively, bloodline + armamentarium + shards + leg mod that grants armor charge on subclass pickup + nade kickstart.

i present to you one of the builds of all time: "oops! all overshields!"
as the name suggests the goal is to be able to get an overshield from every weapon and ability equipped. if it wasn't already obvious this is a void titan build. this is not what i would call an endgame build. or a pvp build. or a particularly useful build.
    aspects: bastion + offensive bulwark
fragments: can't remember the fragment names off the top of my head (will maybe update after i wake up (its 1am in my time zone))
    melee: throwing shield
grenade: vortex grenade (applies weaken with the proper fragment)
class ability: whichever barricade you prefer
exotic armor: no backup plans (armor mods aren't super important across the board so run whatever you feel like)
kinetic slot: a (legendary) shotgun of your choice (1-2 punch recommended for punching reasons)
energy slot: vexcalibur (catalyst optional, but i personally use grave robber)
power slot: any (legendary) weapon with repulsor brace (for example, the regnant heavy grenade launcher (regnant can also have destabilizing rounds, so probably run that in the other column))
with this, you can get an overshield from 1) your barricade, 2) your (charged) melee, 3) your kinetic slot, 4) your energy slot, and 5) your power slot (provided whatever is blown up is weakened/volatile first (being able to apply weaken with a grenade helps)). ironically, you don't get an overshield with bubble (the super i usually use with this build) unless you wear the helm of saint-14 (i think).
"but," i hear you ask, "why?" the answer is twofold: having an overshield speeds up your grenade recharge rate, allowing you to weaken chunky enemies more frequently. more importantly, though, having an overshield gives you a ~25% damage boost (i think) to both your shotgun and vexcalibur melee. Getting kills with either also refills your overshield and refreshes the timer (up to 15 seconds with the fragment). this was definitely better when double special was a thing, but probably still works fine overall (i haven't played the game in months). if it doesn't, switch out the kinetic slot with a weapon of your choice and the exotic armor to whatever you prefer, as, at least for me, vexcalibur is used more in the build, since being able to guard with the glaive provides a quick and easy way to get a bit of overshield, which is all you need to gain the benefits listed above (though i am biased as a glaive enjoyer).
as an added bonus you become purple. barricades and guarding with vexcalibur also make your allies purple. this is good because purple is the best color.

Arc-lock, The Stag, arc weapons (Delicate Tomb or Grand Overture, depending on if you want ad clear or DPS), spec for maximum traces. Nothing crazy, just constant rifts with souls and 25% damage reduction. A fantastic utility option people aren't using. Another Warlock option, again not too convoluted - Strand-lock, Karnsteins, Vexcalibur - strand suspend, solar cure and resto, void overshields off the glaive; glaive melee kills cause 3x cure and procs resto; use the obvious melee etc mods and the obvious Strand artifact mods this season.

I got you a build that I really love! It’s called Fast As F*** with Friends and it’s a Lumina and Speedloaders on a solar subclass. After dodging near a teammate for a bit of extra stats, get a kill with lumina and shoot your friend. Rinse and repeat for up to an additional 50 AE, 55 handling and reload speed, 0.89 reload modifier and 35% more damage basically all the time for you and your friends. It does feel like a bit of work to pull off but with a healing grenade and the dodge that gives you radiant on a solar special weapon kill (I use a judgement of kelgorath with incandescent and demo for the upped healing grenade charge but it’s just preference), you can just keep up 55% increased damage and a ton of handling and reload speed (which really offsets the whole, “having a heavy clunky glaive” thing) basically for free. The only issue with this build is that it doesn’t really work solo, good luck proccing lumina on yourself, but yeah have fun with this, it’s one of my favorite builds ☺️

Assassin's Cowl on Threadrunner PVE. That's it, that's the build. You get all the Strand hunter goodies like Woven Mail and Grapple and Whirling Maelstrom while also getting like 70% of the safety benefits a Nightstalker would have via grapple melee or regular powered melee kills or finishers. The artifact was mega conducive to it last season because Whirling Maelstrom printed ammo combined with Elemental Armaments (even after that interaction was nerfed), but it may still scratch an itch this season. Great for encounters where getting from point A to B is a big part of the challenge like Abyss or Exhibition. Just don't catch the rope dart unless you're okay breaking invis.
Used to also be great for GMs due to the aforementioned artifact perk last season, but I'm not sure it's as worth it now that it's gone. Whirling Maelstrom is kinda like Witherhoard in that you just set it down in a pack of enemies and it'll kill them all even if you have to take cover, and between grapple and invis you're reasonably decent at rescuing dead teammates.
Might also be a fun PVP setup, but there are a million ways to do Threadrunner PVP right now and some are pretty dominant, so idk about that one.

I have a pvp build that I consider off meta since I'm probably the only hunter who plays strand in pvp without threadlings or threaded spectre. Also, I've never ran into anyone using it against me.
Spoiler: It's literally just my strand PvE build but in PvP.
    Grapple grenade
    Whirling Maelstrom + Widow's Silk
    Fragments: Ascent, Generation, Binding, Transmutation
    Exotic: Cyrtarachne's Facade
Primary: Any strand primary you like. Quicksilver is accessible enough but the iron banner strand auto is nice too. Personally I use Rufus' Fury.
    Secondary: Your favorite shotgun/glaive
Gameplay: Aggressive. You exist to do 2 things: make tangles and grapple melee anything that moves.
Every time you grapple you get woven mail, even if you just quickly tap and cancel it to leave a grapple point. Any kill with woven mail active spawns a tangle. Grab the tangle, throw it into a crowd while grappling onto it to fly through the map and melee whoever is in your way. Survivors of the melee are to be executed via shotgun/glaive or they will die to the maelstrom if they don't move quick enough. The tangles, Whirling Maelstrom and the grapple points all serve to keep up your grapple usage as you can grapple to them with no cost. This will ensure you have woven mail, tangles, maelstroms and melee kills all game.
Your -whirling maelstroms- green beyblades of death are not to be underestimated either. If you can't make it to a tangle to pick it up, shoot it to have it roam around after any neaby enemies. Note that while you can't pick up enemy tangles, you can shoot shoot them to spawn your own green beyblade.

Here's my off-meta GM Arc Warlock using Rat King, Vesper of Radius, and a Glaive.
Subclass: Chaos Reach, Arc Soul/Lightning Surge, Electrostatic Mind, Blinding Grenade
Aspects: Beacons, Resistance, Brilliance, Amplitude (Shock and/or Focus work too).
Weapons: Rat King, Albedo Wing (Replenishing Aegis + Lead from Gold) (or approx.), Hot Head/Arc DPS Heavy
Mods: literally anything for high Resilience/Recovery, Insulation on boots, plus maybe a Utility Finisher + Charged Up + Damage mods
    Exotic: Vesper of Radius
Gameplan is throwing down Blinding Wells at enemy spawn points, slaying with Rat King to become Amplified (slaying arc debuffed (blinded) targets), cause Health Regen, and become Invisible. From here you can use Glaive to explode Thrall level enemies, Blinding their larger allies, and gaining even more rift energy from Insulation + VoR's innate perk. Find the next add spawn, throw down a rift, clean with Rat King, and probably get your new rift back before your last one left from the double orb pickup of Kinetic Siphon + Spark of Amplitude going into Insulation.
You have Invisibility, Glaive Shield, and Blinding to get you out of trouble, to Rez allies, and all chain into each other meaning you can blind entire floors of adds from thrall up to Unstoppable Ogres!

I have a solar titan build with Precious Scars that’s dummy fun. Basically use the melee radiant fragment, and then all the fragments that boost scorch and ignitions, and let the uggo hat do all the healing. Use a good incandescent weapon (Zaoli’s works well), and just blow stuff up while giving everyone heals.

I *love* strange theory-crafted build concepts - Sure, they're not "meta" but they really emphasis what Destiny 2 should really be about: build crafting; it's one of THE best parts of the game imo and sadly a lot of creators get so hung up on "the best option available", when plenty of stuff exists that's GOOD, just not broken.

Hi Datto, one build that i have been having fun with that was talked about in chat (original poster was a twitch user named Xtra) was the Stylish Excecutioner Monte Carlo setup. The goal of the build seems to be to emulate suppressing glaive from the witch queen launch season.
To start the chain get a melee kill that procs stylish excecutioner. Then activate the beyonet on Monte and your next stab after the too stylish debuff wears off will weaken and turn you back invis. While invis activate the beyonet again and repeat.
The original user that posted the build used khepris sting on hunter for this as they said the damage increase would help get a smokebomb kill. In my testing the 50% increase to the shit damage of smokebomb is still shit damage and found either omnioculus or graviton forfiet to be better for this.
The build is extremely fun and if you'd like i can post my dim link.

Edit: And sometimes if you're lucky, you can throw the barri-nade right on someone and they will take dmg from the barricade and the suspend.

Not quite sure if this has been covered already or how off meta this is, but something I’ve been running quite a bit lately is heirarchy of needs+prometheum spur+mindspun invocation with shackle grenade+weaver’s call. The main fragments that you need are thread of generation and thread of mind. The idea is that you camp in your rift with weaver’s trance and guidance ring and pick off enemies from afar.

Blink got buffed to be by default almost as good as it used to be with Astrocyte, now it feels kinda redundant to use that exotic if you aren't using it to get value out of volatile, so from experience I think Transversive is a better exotic, as you can get to the orbs faster and also find and rush into enemies more effectively.

I personally use a Monte Carlo for a weighted knife centric build. Forget what the aspects and fragments are, but it's built around keeping Radiant uptime for as long as possible, trying to get precision kills with the knife because it'll refund the knife, your dodge (which should be Acrobat for more Radiant), and give you Radiant. Pairs nicely with Sixth Coyote, Sealed Ahamkara, and Ophidia Spathe.

Stasis titan with armamentarium and elemental charge... and Quicksilver storm. You can run this set up with wicked implement or Vurglas but I choose to fuse the Darkness subclasses.
Dispite the nurfs to grenade kickstart you can still use elemental charge and stacks on stacks to significantly buff your grenade regen by constantly getting 4 armor charges per grenade throw.
On top of this you can take advantage of quicksilver storm and to create tangles and your grenades to create lances. Using both of these will help you clear rooms very quickly and control the flow of the battlefield. On top of this having two grenades and a towering Barricade let you make a fort... which is fun and on occasion useful when your teammates inevitably die in a silly place during a GM nightfall.

Devour voidlock, Monte Carlo, Stag, 100+ RES/REC/DIS, and all the ability energy aspects and mods you can find? That's the Ability Uptime build that's been glued to my Warlock since the season started. Retrofit with Target Lock/4th Times, and the Arc Rocket Sidearm with Voltshot make the build stupid fun. You always have an ability to use, devour heals entirely on a kill and extends the timer so it's hard to die if you're cognizant of your surroundings...just stupid, stupid fun. and this season, the only champs i have problems with are Unstops.

It's probably meta, but it's also just fun. I posted a build on your 10 builds for the season video for Solar Warlocks. I used it all last season, and I'll likely be using it all this season. Mantle of Battle Harmony + 100% radiant uptime + potentially 100% restoration uptime.

For me: swap salvation’s grip with finality and use an incandescent elemental. Heavy doesn’t matter but incandescent fixed odds is neat. Goal: same thing. Make crustals, shatter them, profit. Now with explosions. It works in tandem with finality’s whole deal.

My current favorite build is a void hunter support build focused on making the enemies take more damage and to do less damage. I was lucky enough to get a lethal abundance with slice and onslaught so when i dodge i go invisible and after shooting someone they get severed. On top of that with the artifact perks and void subclass fragments picking up an orb of power gives both unraveling rounds and devour. With this i use divinity as my special weapon and i use the single shot tether with the orpheus rig exotic to fire tethers all the time and make orbs for everyone.

Really disappointed to not see Mothkeeper's Wraps here. I've been running them on Strand with the clone and beyblade (Widow's Silk gives you a third grenade, but your uptime is 100% anyway) with Fury, Warding, Generation, and a flexible fourth fragment (Ascent for reloads and stats every time I toss a moth, Evolution for bonus damage from the threadlings from both the artifact and the clone, Propogation for easy Unraveling rounds outside this season's artifact or Continuity for longer unravel/sever from the beyblades/melee.
The moths are... surprisingly adept at crowd control as long as you throw them a little pre-emptively? The blind is fantastic and pairs great with Buried Bloodline by outright nuking redbars and softening up orange bars for the instant Devour proc. You can also combine the sever from your melee, the Woven Mail from Warding and the overshield the moths can provide you to just... sit in front of any enemy in the game and not die. And when you get bored of that, just fart out a clone and watch the GM Unstoppable Ogre completely forget about you and try and stomp the scourge of the Crucible.
Super fun build- Mothkeeer's feels fantastic when you aren't trying to forcibly pair it with Ex Diris, and Strand Hunter is the perfect catalyst for this flavor of spice.

  • @lykonic1763
    @lykonic1763 6 месяцев назад

Not sure if it counts as "off-meta" but I haven't seen anyone else doing it: on my Strand Warlock, I was pairing Monte Carlo, Swarmers, The Wanderer, and Weavewalk. Monte Carlo keeps my melee charges topped off for normal use as well as Weavewalk, Swarmers and The Wanderer combine for suspending Tangle detonations that also release Threadlings, and make Threadlings unravel to create more Tangles. Threadling grenade and Weavewalk just add to the Threadling horde. Threads of Generation and Evolution are both great, and I topped it off with Continuity and Finality (could probably swap Finality out for something else but hey, free Threadlings). As long as you can manage your Tangle cooldown to keep getting more, you just keep chucking suspending Threadling bombs at stuff, then use your grenade and Weavewalk to add even more Threadlings (plus good survivability from Weavewalk) while Monte Carlo keeps your melee topped off for however you choose to use it. I've not only had a lot of fun with it but it's probably the strongest build I have on Warlock.

I run something very similar to the first build! I replace hoarfrost with Precious Scars or CRL and use a Demo+Headstone Horror Story and Indebted Kindness. I feel that Scars does a pretty adequate job of giving you just enough survivability to stay in the fight even when the content gets a lot harder. Indebted does an amazing job at taking out beefier enemies while being ammo efficient, and Horror Story makes an absolute joke of your grenade cooldown. I went from being a Void main to Stasis Main over the course of this year and I'm so excited for the rework which I hope we get before Final Shape.

The second build, you were supposed to use "weavewalk" instead one of the other aspects and and the "thread of evolution" fragment.
    How it works:
-Tag the enemies with scorch, weavewalk, scorch again for melee energy with Dawn chorus. Repeat
You spam threadlings. Take 90%dr in pve. And scorch from gun; tagging enemies for threadlings to jump out and attack them.

Okay hear me out: a support warlock build not on solar or void or strand or stasis, but on arc without Coldheart. This build is based on fallen sun Star and nezarecs whisper. Nezarec’s whisper is to both up keep amplified and a shield and healing. Fallen sun Star is to feed both you and your allys abilities and they don’t need to be on arc. You can use anything the other two slots. You should use arc soul ofc bc it’s good ofc and good in endgame. Very basic build but the potential of ability spam from both you and your allys and to become a walking tank at a moments notice with the Glaive in addition to giving yourself amplified to dip out of dangerous situations allows you to play very aggressively while also supporting your team and in gms allows you to get some of the most ridiculous rezes especially with the correct fragments. Cannot recommend this build enough. So fucking fun, and I say this as someone who isn’t a big warlock fan.

so i do have a build, play titan use aeon safe with sect of vigor, strand with banner of war, into the fray.
Have thread of transmutation, thread of wisdom, thread of warding and thread of generation, have shackle grenades and rally barricade.
The only required weapon is vexcalibur, its a very heavy support role build but instead of using banner of war for myself i use it for teammates since when they get kills within the banner the duration get increased. Aeons give a 2x resist when they are low heath and swap to vexcalibur to give them and myself overshield and tangles giving woven mail (btw they stack). but i do suggest having lucent blade and void reverses/holster/surge, and proximity ward and dont be too aggressive let teammates do the heavy lifting

PvE build for fun (good for first 2 rounds of coil) that works around the least used hunter mechanic in the game - stasis shuriken
Ager's Scepter / Sixth Coyote / coldsnap gernades / grim harvest / touch of winter / fissures, bonds, rime, shards, conduction
everything else is pretty much up to player preference
the whole idea behind the build is freeze everything / have fun / throw SO MANY shuriken
Also yes noted this post will get lost but its my first ever personal build so wanted to share - also worth noting this build is not perfected so weapons and fragments are still being toyed with for more shuriken fun
yall have a lovely day - see ya star side

I run the Hoarfrost build but without Salvation’s Grip and with Howl of the Storm. You don’t need Stasis crystals coming out the wazoo when your abilities already generate a ton of them, so your add clear is just your abilities and your primary weapon. Your special and heavy weapons should be dedicated to boss damage.

Voidlock, veritys brow, vortex nades, travelers chosen, feed the void and chaos accelerant. Throw nade to proc osmosis and devour and volatile rounds, kill 5 enemies and boom you have a baby nova bomb, rinse and repeat. Graviton lance also works but TC gives you a little fall back if for some reason your loop for getting nades back with veritys and devour dont work.

Aspects = knock em down and on your mark
Embers = torches, mercy, combustion, wonder, resolve
Monte carlo for if I miss the knife. Assasins cowl to be invisible the whole time. Armor mods I'm too lazy to type out.

I dont see anyone running it, but its so fun.
wirling maelstrom +assasins cowl = the unseen beyblade master.
Fragments/mods for melee regen, and a grapple for an extra sourse of melee kills, and youre invis all the time. you can perfectly place your beblades in high-end content without worrying about being immediately sniped.
The only downside is that blueberries steal your Beyblades like they are the playground monitor in 5th grade.

So my warlocks primary base form has always been rat king and karnstein. Absolutely fantastic.
But the one that actually surprised me was the final one because that is essentially my warlocks void build but I use it for pve. I used to combine that with warmind cells and essentially any enemy in the game I could blind and still can. The movement is crazy and the orbs generated give me health, blind enemies and the dunk is pretty powerful.
Blinking out of a group of enemies making them all volatile and coming right back to dunk....oh. the explosions. 🥰

For the stasis Titan build I have some notes on ways to optimize and differentiate the build, I call my build Icebreaker. The key main differences to my build is instead of running a shotgun I run Kelgorath’s Glaive and the Fire & Forget linear fusion. Why run a Glaive and why specifically Kelgorath?
Well for one I like to use the Glaive as an alternate form to melee, incase I don’t want to go flying or save it for a group a crystals further away, also normal glaives suck for breaking crystals, taking 2 hits instead of the one uncharged melee except for Kelgorath that has the Hakke origin trait. With said origin trait, crystals can be broken in 1 smack vs the sluggish 2 smacks. Add on close to melee and demolitionist, and you’re cooking.
In terms of fire and forget, I tend to use it as my single target damage weapon, I have a meme roll that uses Chillclip headstone, but you could always put better perks. However the reason I put chill clip headstone is that it works with the build and also helps slow further away enemies and champions. Yes I’m not able to generate the same suite that salvations grip provides.

On your astrocyte Warlock build for PvP, what was your stat distribution? I wanna give that build a try. I know to shoot for 100 recovery. But what’s the second stat you built for?
Did you shoot for 100 mobility since that exotic boosts blink and blink keeps you very mobile. Or 100 discipline since that’s always a safe option? Or maybe 100 resilience since that helps you take more damages to get close enough to detonate the orb?
