Haven't seen this idea. Maybe she's the justice lords universe's supergirl? I can easily envision a scenario where that Kara was imprisoned by lord Superman and on release she ends up having to flee her world due to people on that earth's (understandable) mistrust of superheroes in general and kryptonians specifically. And The actions of that world's superman might explain why she'd want to distance herself from the S shield.
I honestly don't see Superlord imprisoning his cousin (or, adoptive cousin?). She could honestly have just be doing stuff off world or away as Power Girl.
@ProjektTaku I can pretty easily see a scenario where Kara doesn't go along with lord superman takeover. And instead of killing her he locks her in a cell with red sun lamps.
Since I’m a big fan of Marv Wolfman & George Perez’s Titans run in the 80s, I would’ve loved to see Donna Troy. The individual mythos for characters who weren’t Batman or Superman didn’t get enough time to be properly fleshed out. And Wonder Woman’s a big example of this. Always been a big Donna Troy fan, so I she makes some appearance in the future. Maybe she can cameo in the Beyond era
Hey don't jump right to Terry so quick. We should get the WW:TAS show for her to appear in first...and for simplicity...just don't mention anything after "Who is Donna Troy" for her origin...it gets to being a prime example of reboots while Hawkman is the definition.
@@Superlad9494 honestly, I know the show is especially despised by fans, but I genuinely think Donna’s origins in Titans is just a much cleaner story to use over the comics’ and their convoluted continuity problems that her origin suffered from. The show just had it where Wonder Woman rescued her from a fire and adopted her, taking her in as an Amazon. We don’t get all the details of the process. But we also don’t have a bunch of the amnesia stuff, or changes that came after Crisis
@@joeker5208 that origin is also from the comics, just not from the 1980's, but rather the 1969. Marv Wolfman & Gil Kane came up with that origin in Teen Titans No. 29 at the end of the first Bob Haney run...after reading a codifying issue in Bob Kanigher's Wonder Woman run with Wonder Woman No. 117. Wolfman just elaborated it in the iconic story to have what has become known as the Dark Angel of the Titans of Myth origin be set up. I wouldn't mind keeping it 1960's simple either...it fits on one page when needed for those big team-ups...like Hawkman's silver age origin does.
@@Superlad9494 I’m aware of the origin appearing in the original 60s Titans run. However, there’s a few details I prefer in the show, such as Donna being a child, and not an infant.

Keep doing all the great work Coral, and keep being excellent yo!!
My headcanon was a little convoluted but what I figured would happen was Galatea would accidentally absorb Supergirl's memories completely (when the headpiece broke) and think she was literally Supergirl when she woke up, reinforced by the fact Supergirl was now absent from this time. She'd try being Supergirl for a while, do some good, eventually someone figures it out and convinces her that she's Galatea. She would have to come to terms with her past and feel undeserving of being Supergirl but also not wanting to be linked to Cadmus anymore, thus becoming Power Girl.
A DCAU character I’d like to see in future? One wearing Alex Ross’s Red Robin costume. Could be Tim Drake, trying to prove one final time that Joker’s torture didn’t affect his ability to be a hero. Could be Jason Todd, completing training with Deathstroke.
I am always amazed to see how eager those who worked on the DCAU are on talking about even specific things like "what happened in this episode?" No one would be mad if they were to say "listen, you're asking me questions about something I worked on 20-25 years ago, I don't think I can help" or even just ourtight avoiding it because they want to distance themselves from what they were doing when they were younger.
24:41 wait… I could’ve sworn Aquaman showed up in later episodes of JLU… did he really only appear is season 1? And what reason?! …. Oh my god I’m turning into James.
Power Girl is my favourite superhero! Next to Hal Jordan Green Lantern and Batman. I was always bummed out by what they did with turning her into Galatea.
Young Justice. We got Tim, and both Kon and Bart were shown pretty frequently in style guides/merch. Would not be too much of a stretch to have Cassie, Arrowette, Secret, or Empress show up. They are my favorite DC team after all.

ive studied this for a long time My conclusion is Galatea is Power Girl with Super Girl's personality Imbedded All the makavellian traits she has are displayed by the heroic Supergirl we know in comics especially Dark Supergirl Galatea is amazing and she cant be killed by electricity like that so i dont understand that choice Her being a clone made the plot more interesting What makes PowerGurl stronger than SuperGurl is the fact that PowerGurl powers come from Magic not Alien genes so shes immune to more and they cant be taken away as easily
I really love this video! Congratulations on coming up with not one but two really good potential origins for the DCAU’s Power Girl, James! You guys always do a great job of using continuity to create a story that’s still thematically interesting and not just lore speculation. Y’all are unironically one of the best to ever do it ❤️
I would love to see an actual DCAU Blue Beetle. Maybe give Ted Cord the robo suit and have Jaime Reyes be the 1st or 2nd BB to mix things up and make it fresh
it's kinda crazy that completely unrelated teams kinda unintentionally made a whole new chatacter and character arc with the daxamite thing character based off of power girl appears, flies off with the chance to return, power girl shows up later (with little relation to supergirl or galatea)... and all of this because the people working on the (unrelated) books liked power girl a lot.
Supergirl's use of electroshock therapy belonged to the past, the therapists of her world would agree. Yet despite it being an outdated method of therapy, it worked on Galatea, so now she is Power Girl.
One dc superhero that should've appeared in the dcau was Connor Kent Superboy, I really was expecting him to appear since they put Miss Martian but was disappointed.
My answer would be Cassandra Caine. Can't tell you how mad I was when Beware The Batman said its mission statement was to use the underutilized Bat-Cast... then immediately hit at the only Batgirl to ever make it out of comics...
She was twitching last we saw of her. Meaning she’s still alive enough to be moving unless it’s a post-mortem spasm. As for her disappearance after her final appearance? We’ll have to assume that there were a lot more adventures happening during the gap between JLU S2 & S3 and the gaps between the episodes of S3 where she might have been involved. Same with Firestorm and other notable absent heroes. The Patriot Act does have Leaguers we never seen before or after the episode. It’s not outside of the realm of possibility to assume she not only survived but lived to become a member of the JLU roster. Perhaps apart of a version of the black ops JL Elite or simply doing her thing offscreen the entire time.
I love these videos! Some times I can't belive who all you're able to talk to, these guys are legends who really love sharing things they have worked on! You give them a chance to see how much they have ment to us all!
I would have loved to see Raven In the DCAU and see how they would have tackled her story with Trigon and if here Design would have been more comic inspired or Teen Titans inspired
Really cool connections you were able to uncover with that tie-in-comic deep dive! And I couldn’t help but laugh at the “adjacent” bit at the end 😂 Considering they both require similar amounts of assumption, though, but one is based on two different tie-in-comic series while the other just an episode of the show itself, perhaps Occam’s Razor demands the public-nickname-for-Galatea theory-or maybe the DCAU’s Power Girl is just some generic superhero with no specific backstory… 🤔
She ended up in a coma, woke up with no memory or a mixed-up memory that led her to think she was Karen Star, and came back calling herself Powergirl. She subconsciously created a costume similar to what she had before but not exactly the same. :)
Given my profile picture, it's a gimme who I would've killed to see in the DCAU, especially given a certain Booster Gold episode was originally created with him in mind
I would’ve loved to of seen more of the other sidekicks in the DCAU. Like members of the Teen Titans, or at least had an episode that introduced them all whilst also bringing Robin into Justice League rather than being left in Gotham to twiddle his thumbs while Batman is fighting gods n monsters.
I wish in future we get more Simon Baz love! Between the dcau and other media we’ve had all lanterns from Hal to Jessica in films and tv but still waiting on Simon who’s got such a good story that I loved back when he debuted!
a small return of maxima comes to mind to at least show what happened to her after lobo. since last we saw her was that episode and her minor cameo in CW super girl
I've read some fanfics that took the Post-Supergirl route but none that I can recall using the psychic link angle. And hey, Gleechan! Nice! And thanks to Flash in that one panel for saying what we were all thinking.
Regarding the QOTD: i think Vext from the shortlived 1999 Keith Giffen book of the same name would've made a fun one off episode character or minor recurring presence, his position as a god of bad luck but without any control of it has a lot of potential for interesting storytelling in a children's cartoon (see something like the disney programme Milo Murphy's Law running for multiple seasons with a similar premise) seeing the JL Members have to deal with threats and misfortune caused by the simple happenstance presence of a character who himself means no harm. Would be fun
QOTD: Technically, I’m not sure this character never showed up, but to my knowledge, he didn’t. And that’s John Constantine. He’s one of my favorite DC characters, and I understand he’s a bit more “adult” than you usually see in the DCAU (B&HQ not withstanding), but I would love to see him one day in a future project. A DCAU version of Justice League Dark would be amazing, especially since we have a good chunk of the roster introduced with Swamp Thing, Etrigan, & Zatanna.
To answer the question I would have loved to see Donna Troy in this universe to add to Wonder woman's story that we could have seen a little bit more of in my opinion.
I love these 30+ minute breakdowns and investigations into early 00s DC Animated tie-in material, where the final answer is just an artist going "i really like drawing this character, no one told me no, so i did it"
Wild Thumbnail and since we know at one point there were multiple speedsters in the dcau main universe (obviously there is in other universes like JLords and golden age world) I would love to see the other flash of this universe (wether it’s Barry or Jay)

@@whitestar0060 eh, considering she's still new to earth and extremely impressionable, I can see it happening. I mean, he convinced MM and Bats.
I second this, Donna is actually my favorite Titan.
I know we got him in young justice but I always thought DCAU Superboy would be cool. You can even tie him with bizarro’s origins and have him be another attempt of cloning Superman
I think he is in the comic tie-ins but that would've been fun. Jacket or Shirt Superboy tho?
@@ProjektTakuShirt for me. Jacket looks too hipster and not in a good way.
@@michaelandreipalon359 I like it, gives him a bit more personality and "spunk".
@@ProjektTaku I prefer the shirt look usually but I think the jacket look could look cool in Timm’s style
I always get a smile on my face when i get the notification that the watchtower database posted a video!
I wish we got Superman’s pet horse Comet.
And Bat-Mite. Not as a toy, but ACTUAL Bat-Mite. I want to see him and Mr. Mxyzptlk have a big barfight-style brawl that spans all of space-time. And then he and Harvey Bullock go on fun adventures together.
Hey, I can dream, can’t I?
Fuck!
You took my answer
Sad we’ll never see Gilbert Gottfreid’s Mxy paired with Paul Reuben’s Bat-Mite 😢
Ah, Comet, Superman's pet horse that dated his cousin.
Wait... *checks notes*... nope, that's right.
World's Funniest ahh epsiode.
@@thegreatandterrible4508 Comet (as Brion, his human form) also went on a date with Lois Lane, although he was upfront about his condition.
I can't stop staring at the fan art done by Glee-chan, they nailed the look

Oh sweet a Power Girl episode!!!❤ 😊 All during my birthday month! Quite the sweet treat I got!!!💪❤️
these videos are so well researched, crazy that they don't immediately get hundreds of thousands of views
Show ya friendz!
They do…
New Watchtower drop... Thank you Datapeeps. Gonna be watching this bad boy on my break today. Can't wait!! 👏🏻🤙🏻
I think about people like you while I'm editing all the time. I remember working at a pizza restaurant and watching my favorite creators on my lunch break. Makes my heart warm to know we're keeping the magic going ❤
@@CoralBlue-2 Hey I appreciate all the hard work the whole team does. I apologise I don't know all the interworkings and behind the scenes peeps that help bring all it to life. But thank you, and everyone else who puts their time into these.
I've been watching the channel since the beginning, worked 4 different jobs since then. I regularly revisit old vids too and they are comfort for me. Being a guy with PTSD and Anxiety Issues as well, it's nice to have something that reminds ne of the good times of childhood and chatting with my old buds about the cartoons, comics, characters, and stories that made my life a bit better. So thank you Coral for your time, work, effort, and everything you and the others do.
This video and all of the channel, along with the DCAU are special to me. As corny and as lame as that sounds. Keep doing all the great work Coral, and keep being excellent yo!!
"The green one", Beast Boy, is a character I would want to see in the DCAU.
My answer to the QOTD: I wish I could have seen an animated Jakeem Thunder, I think he's pretty cool.
That's a good headcanon.
"Over the last 32 years...." I immediately stopped and melted into old man goop. 😂
I am always amazed to see how eager those who worked on the DCAU are on talking about even specific things like "what happened in this episode?"
No one would be mad if they were to say "listen, you're asking me questions about something I worked on 20-25 years ago, I don't think I can help" or even just ourtight avoiding it because they want to distance themselves from what they were doing when they were younger.
24:41 wait… I could’ve sworn Aquaman showed up in later episodes of JLU… did he really only appear is season 1? And what reason?! …. Oh my god I’m turning into James.
The Question: “Don’t ask me no questions. I’m the only one with Question Powers” iykyk
Power Girl is my favourite superhero! Next to Hal Jordan Green Lantern and Batman.
I was always bummed out by what they did with turning her into Galatea.
I absolutely LOVE that Dan is just is the antagonist in that call
QOTD: The Ragman. He was in Justice League Unlimited #15 but never anywhere else.
Young Justice. We got Tim, and both Kon and Bart were shown pretty frequently in style guides/merch. Would not be too much of a stretch to have Cassie, Arrowette, Secret, or Empress show up.
They are my favorite DC team after all.
20:18 Not in a million years was I expecting someone to reference Monsters University
that new intro is SO GRAND
and it only took last Friday to lock it in!
8:20 "hardcore nerds that are still talking about these shows" lol im currently rewatching JLU everynight before bed. So im deff one of these hardcore nerds lol which i realized while watching one of your videos one time, i thought to myself "wow im a nerd"
I still just like the idea that Galatea survived and chilled out and became a hero. That’s my headcanon.
8:32 Yall wrong for this segment omg i was dying 😂
19:50 wow, the irrational degree of anger I felt at that answer made me realize how frustrating digging for info on this must've been
I wish we got to see detective chimp in a official dcau on screen appearance!!
I would love to see Donna Troy aka Wonder Girl aka Troia or whatever nickname DC wants to give her next time. Or even Cassandra Cain Batgirl! She’s another one of my favorites.
There, you get a TWOfer for the QOTD answers James!
my answer for the QOTD : i want detective chimp
ive studied this for a long time My conclusion is Galatea is Power Girl with Super Girl's personality Imbedded All the makavellian traits she has are displayed by the heroic Supergirl we know in comics especially Dark Supergirl
Galatea is amazing and she cant be killed by electricity like that so i dont understand that choice
Her being a clone made the plot more interesting
What makes PowerGurl stronger than SuperGurl is the fact that PowerGurl powers come from Magic not Alien genes so shes immune to more and they cant be taken away as easily
3:28 NEW INTRO WHO DIS????
A character we never got in the DCAU that I would have loved to see is the Green Lantern character Jade. We got Obsidian but not Jade
Maybe give Ted Cord the robo suit and have Jaime Reyes be the 1st or 2nd BB to mix things up and make it fresh
it's kinda crazy that completely unrelated teams kinda unintentionally made a whole new chatacter and character arc with the daxamite thing
character based off of power girl appears, flies off with the chance to return, power girl shows up later (with little relation to supergirl or galatea)... and all of this because the people working on the (unrelated) books liked power girl a lot.
Supergirl's use of electroshock therapy belonged to the past,
the therapists of her world would agree.
Yet despite it being an outdated method of therapy,
it worked on Galatea, so now she is Power Girl.
This is definitely gonna be the most viewed Video on channel due to the... Great writing and good research. Yeah
I loved the black haired Ace. That story was so dang sad though.
One dc superhero that should've appeared in the dcau was Connor Kent Superboy, I really was expecting him to appear since they put Miss Martian but was disappointed.
Conner does appear in some marketing materials from the '90s! We'll be doing a whole video about that eventually 😁
@dcauwatchtower That is so cool, I cannot wait to see the video.
Galatea wasn’t the only clone, somewhere in Cadmus’ storage was a second Kara clone released after Cadmus shuts down
Better question: Whermst Power Girl?
I really appreciate the dedication to put this together. Just the editing alone is so time consuming. Nice Job.
My answer would be Cassandra Caine.
Can't tell you how mad I was when Beware The Batman said its mission statement was to use the underutilized Bat-Cast... then immediately hit at the only Batgirl to ever make it out of comics...
I swear I'm looking at her eyes.

24:36 about to be the most replayed second😂

Tracts of land, said a Young Justice tie-in?
I'm always so impressed by your research in these episodes
Looking back did Galatea die? Cause we never saw her ever again
After the Crisis she did 😂😂
She was twitching last we saw of her.
@@lewisaino funny, but that was a version where there was no Darkseid. In mainline 508, there is a Darkseid.
My first exposure to Powerful was JLU, so needless to say I was confused as a kid when I found out she was actually a good guy in the actual comics
10:12 that's literal fake news, Joker died from a very thick bullet-arrow in his chest.
Depends on who you ask 😏
She ended up in a coma, woke up with no memory or a mixed-up memory that led her to think she was Karen Star, and came back calling herself Powergirl. She subconsciously created a costume similar to what she had before but not exactly the same. :)
Given my profile picture, it's a gimme who I would've killed to see in the DCAU, especially given a certain Booster Gold episode was originally created with him in mind
Galatea's alternate universe counterpart from the universe of the Justice Lords
I'd have loved to see Animal Man show up in the DCAU. He's been my second favorite DC character, behind the one talked about in this video.
Nightshade has always gotten me curious as her powers would of been awsome to bring in Raven to par with.
Wow, this is a rather specific walk through my childhood I certainly did not expect today.
QOTD:
Technically, I’m not sure this character never showed up, but to my knowledge, he didn’t. And that’s John Constantine. He’s one of my favorite DC characters, and I understand he’s a bit more “adult” than you usually see in the DCAU (B&HQ not withstanding), but I would love to see him one day in a future project. A DCAU version of Justice League Dark would be amazing, especially since we have a good chunk of the roster introduced with Swamp Thing, Etrigan, & Zatanna.
great video thanks, its wild how many people you had to go through to solve the question
To answer the question I would have loved to see Donna Troy in this universe to add to Wonder woman's story that we could have seen a little bit more of in my opinion.
I don't think I'll ever get tired of Watchtower Database videos-how could I when they are always this great?
🙏🙏🙏
I love these 30+ minute breakdowns and investigations into early 00s DC Animated tie-in material, where the final answer is just an artist going "i really like drawing this character, no one told me no, so i did it"
Wild Thumbnail and since we know at one point there were multiple speedsters in the dcau main universe (obviously there is in other universes like JLords and golden age world) I would love to see the other flash of this universe (wether it’s Barry or Jay)
