  • Using the Feather technique to craft a drinking glass. Beautiful silver blue fume with lines in a range of colors. Ultra durable borosilicate = dishwasher, oven, microwave safe! It should last for a long time.

I've never done lamp work, but my girlfriend braids hemp cord and makes bead jewelry. She is always complaining that good beads are too expensive and cheap beads look cheap. I want to learn bead making, and what will be necessary to get started. I guess I want to get involved in her hobby. Keep teaching, I'm learning.
    Thanks!

Great video. A lathe will set you back 10k or more. I would start by getting some bench rollers

awsome work as allwase mate. its a nice glass. i do wonder if you could modify a regular lathe for your needs . the ony thing with that is how to puff into a peace.... otherwise i think you could set up a torch to face one and use a cheep one... jsut a thougt. and i love your casual style its why i follow you along and your crazy ideas.

Sounds like you might have some soft glass colors that are incompatible with the boro... Someone played a joke on me that I didn't think was too funny when I was first starting and swapped out some of my color with soft glass and it wiped out everything it touched.. If it's not that in your case melt in more and check your kiln settings, some colors are more finicky that others, so color selection might be something to look into as well. Hope this helps

Nice cup! If you break down your 50mm by pulling points, you really don't need a lathe. I make most of my 12oz and 16oz drinking glasses from 50mm extra heavy wall points, all hand spun.
