I’m in East Texas. I love the green watch! I have 3 gold pocket watches that belonged to my husband’s grandmother. One of them is an Oris watch with a scene on the front cover. It also has a chain. I should probably sell them because none of our kids are interested in having old stuff when we’re gone.
This was so fun! You took us on a personal Antiques Road Show. I loved when you asked us what we're liking so far and if anything is caught our eye. It feels like we are two friends hanging out showing each other our Thrift finds, which is what me and my friends do. Thanks so much for sharing your video, I really enjoyed it 😊 Watching from Rockford, Illinois, USA
I retired year and a half ago. Vintage jewellery is my new hobby. I now have a small Etsy store. I found out you have to keep things moving if you want to continue buying. I bought what I thought was a necklace for a dollar at a St Vincent DePaul thrift store in Ontario. It turned out to be a vintage watch fob in 14k gold worth $3,000. What a thrill. I am learning lots and enjoying the journey. Do you sell your finds?
That's a fabulous haul Pauline. The Stella & Dot, J Crew and the big gold flower are all really great pieces. Take care and i hope you have a wonderful week! 🤗✌️I'm watching from Edinburgh, Scotland 🏴
@ Your most welcome! I go to VV often and find a lot of great finds. I don’t gravitate towards the jewelry, but perhaps I’ll look the next time I go in. I did ask the staff if they do jewelry bags anymore and she yes but they go fast. Hope I get lucky and get one of these visits.
I liked the large duck brooch. US citizen watching from Japan. How did you get the worth of the items? Is the worth an appraisal type worth or the price the same items have sold for at auction or eBay?
Worth is subjective. I look at what is being asked, sold, google lens. So it could be that value today, and tomorrow more or less depending... worth is still hard to pinpoint in my opinion. Time of year, worth is higher too... or lower... confusing, I know. But that is where I start. And also, the value is regional, some stuff is Canadian, so here the demand would be different than selling it in USA... so worth is hard to pinpoint until in my opinion you list it on eBay for example and see if it sells... but I never trust google lens even though I do use it. How do you determine worth?
