      For how much we have to pay out his contract and the risk of having to go through this same 3 year managerial cycle that we've seen with LVG, Jose, Ole and now potentially ETH I think we give him to the end of the season. Realistically we're not gonna finish higher than 6th even with a new manager who doesn't have "his" players so we may as well see if ten haag can do anything and give us time to look for the right man for the job if he is not it.

    Bruno Fernandes is Carmelo Anthony.
    Phenomenal individual player but we’ve yet to see him win top level competitions, in part because the teams/structures around him have been weak but also in part because there is a question of how much his star quality hurts the team? You said yourself he’ll work like a dog, but he’ll also press wrong, making HIS press numbers look good, but hurting the teams press cuz he’s not following the assignment. (Though tbf Garnacho looks like the problem in the screenshots.)
    I also agree with you about the hero ball thing, but then the question is do his Hero ball, high long shot and WOW pass tendencies put a ceiling on what he can achieve because he does too many high risk, high reward plays which look and feel amazing when they come off but also lose you the ball plenty because they’re high risk.

    13:40 arteta didn’t spend 600+ million to get his players in right away. He earned time by taking a broken squad, proving they could play at a higher level, then slowly getting rid of the players and replacing them.
    You can’t compare ten hags first two seasons to Arteta’s

    • @JFriisN
      @JFriisN 7 дней назад +2

      The point of the graph / comparison was exactly to show how Arteta's Arsenal made steady progress after getting adjusted. Ten Hag's United on the other hand has been on the decline since the first season.
      It shows that the two 'projects' are going in completely opposite directions and are nowhere close.

  • @karanabraham7906
    @karanabraham7906 7 дней назад +1

    It's honestly puzzling how it's gone so wrong for ten Hag. I know may have failed before him, but with LVG the games were boring, with Mou it was getting toxic, with Ole it felt he was too inexperienced. Then ten Hag seemed perfect, master tactician, he had a good brand of football, and he'd done well at Ajax. And yet, two years later, we've seen no progress tactically and the team looks pathetic. There's no point just sacking him now and hoping for the best with some other manager. There needs to be some sort of analysis from Ineos to make sense of what's happened and come up with a strategy to somehow start making some steady progress.

    I think the board should give ETH time and targets this season with clear communication. After this season's performance, they must change the Manager, but not in the current timeline. Tuchel is the great replacement for ETH (the only worry part is his relation with the previous boards). Apart from him, bring Julien Nigelsman IN.

  • @OoverHeaven
    @OoverHeaven 8 дней назад +2

    That red card getting removed was a net negative. Getting it scrubbed didnt change the result of the Tottenham fixture and now we’ve lost an excuse to give Fernandes a well needed hiatus so he can recalibrate. He was overdue a bad run of games, I think he’s just frustrated. Let someone else play CAM and then bring Bruno back in after some rest

    Our main problem IMO is whatever style that ETH wants is not able to accommodate Bruno and rashford who arguably suits more of a fast, direct and counterattack style. We have a mixture of players who’s suitable for different style trying to play together. Onana who’s more of a possession based short pass style gk has to now boot the ball long to try to find the forwards.
    I would also put the inability of dalot to invert to a 6 more often and Martinez’s struggles down to rashford’s inability to defend and unwillingness to track back. Dalot has to stick more to the left and often gets overwhelmed by opposition’s right wing and right back. Because of this Martinez has to do more to cover dalot which leaves a big hole in our central defence. It’s not coincidence that most teams tend to attack our left side.

    I think Ten Hag adopts a relational system in attack. Where it's up to the players themselves to come up with solutions. To be unpredictable essentially. The players just aren't intelligent or sacrificial enough to combine properly in attack. You don't really see "patterns of play" in Real Madrid, or under Ferguson. The players just play.

  • @VitoCorleone66
    @VitoCorleone66 7 дней назад

    Tbh first thing I said about ETH when he came is that his tactics from Ajax seemed a bit too naïve to implement in United. Let's not forget - he didn't want your typical no6 in the midfield, but FDJ who is a decent player, but not really enough when he's supposed to be the only midfield player, that does any defending. Eriksen is a no10, that's over 30 and had a heart attack a few years ago, yet he often plays as a part of a double pivot.
    The thing that surprises me most over the years is, that after the (tbh unjust in my opinion then and now) chasing Rangnick out of the club, he sacked pretty much the whole scouting department and pretty much never established a new one. We are like 3 years down the line and the dude is still out here bringing into the club his old players on huge transfer fees. He spent hundreds millions of pounds to try and recreate his old Ajax team (which biggest achievement was reaching a semi-final of CL once - great achievement for where that league is now, but at top of football not that impressive and for sure had it's limitations, yes - they beat Madrid on their way there, but it was post CR7 Madrid, with Vinicius that was still shit at shooting and got injured in the first leg, literally worst year they've had in the last decade) and yet he still complains, he doesn't have the players to play his 'style' of football. Whole defensive block atm in starting 11 are his players and a fullback, that was one of the only ones not having horrible time under him. Players like Antony were never good enough and while it's not entirely his fault for having this price driven so high up, it's not like he didn't know the player and didn't know, that he simply wasn't good enough. Depay had great stats in Eredivisie, Antony had average ones in comparison to even him..
    Idk, the atmosphere seems already ruined, everything in me says - sack him - but I honestly don't know who of the top coaches would willingly come to take his place xD You could scout someone from almost nowhere, like Spurs did with Ange, but on the other hand - you are so far along the way in this Ajax rebuild, that I'm not sure if you can even back out of it xD
    To finish - a question - where would you honestly expect ETH's Ajax to finish, if they played in the Prem? Because I'd expect them to be most of the time around where United are now, when ETH has those rare good days - on the edge of top4

    We didn’t have Dalot in the pocket 6 because Licha and De ligt got burned by opponent attackers running through and beating them in pace.
    Thats how we conceded goals.
    Dalot is probably our quickest defender. The structure is all over the place, players not being put in the situation to play to their strengths + them also being in horrid run of form (correlation does not imply causation)
    Strange strange “rotations”. Some of the bottom half and relegation teams look to be better setup than us.
    Our squad is definitely 4 - 6th finish on paper. Severely underperforming and it’s not looking good

    • @anirudh_cr
      @anirudh_cr 2 дня назад

      We also have had a really good summer window. Lot of good players - brought in - addressed a lot of issues on paper. LB situation is still an absolute joke. We haven’t played with a proper LB in over a year.
      Ten hag has to prove he can get better results out of this team. He has been given the support and backed in the window. He has to show at the very least a proper style of play. Right now it still isn’t really clear how we play one game to the next. The only thing consistent is that we are really shite

  • @skvisions7036
    @skvisions7036 7 дней назад

    United season on season have at all critical stages players out of form. If from 11 players on the field of play, up to 4/5 don’t pull their weight, it’s required from the remaining 7/6 to carry the team, it is not tenable along a long stretch of the season. All that’s needed from the rest is to commit an individual errors leading to goals. 1/2 underperforming can be negated, more than that it’s a huge issue. Eventually it spreads over the entire squad, the burden and expectation would weigh any player down.

  • @UTube-gs1yf
    @UTube-gs1yf 6 дней назад

    They have a few major problems. Casemiro, Fernandez, Rashford are the three biggest.
    They have the combined salary of 6 really good EPL players, but are themselves below average.
    Then there is spending huge money on Antony & De ligt (no better than Maguire), Martinez chases balls like a child and gets out of position.
    Sell Bruno and Rashford in January - might start to see some improvement.

    I don't doubt what you're saying about the players and staff loving Bruno Fernandes at 1:41 and I can definitely see why people use it as a defense of his character and captaincy, but I actually think that it is a symptom of what's wrong at the club.
    The fact that everyone loves him make it seem to me like those people have got their priorities wrong when it comes to judging characters in a club. It is those horrible judgements of character that has mostly let the club go into the rotten state it is at now imo.
    And this doesn't only apply to Bruno btw, right now he's just the face of bad characters in the club, but everyone that sees no issue with him is just as bad.
    EDIT, just want to clarify:
    I don't mean that you're part of the problem for liking Bruno, the criticism is pointed towards those who directly enable him to keep that role in the club!

  • @mettycarpenter3267
    @mettycarpenter3267 7 дней назад

    We need to start looking at making it a proper 4-3-3 formation. Like city arsenal and Liverpool was and Real Madrid.when Casemiro had Kroos and Modric either side of him…
    Mount could do Modric role.
    Ugarte/Casemiro in the middle
    Bruno doing the Kroos role..
    Ugarte is the no.6
    Bruno the no.8
    Mount/Eriksson the no.8/10
    That will help with defending in wider positions.numbers in the middle.
    The fowards will sort themselves out if we can get the midfield right.
    I’m not worried about defence.
    I like it…. But Shaw is needed At leftback to complete the back line.
    Rashford attack from left
    Amad assist from the right. Like Saka.
    Ras in the middle….
    When I look at the team right now…
    We need a Frankie De Jong…….
    In January!!!!!
    No foockin about.. a few tweaks and couple of players.. and we could be up there……I truly believe that!!!!
    GGMU!!!

The difference is that almost all of Artetas signings were god and they made the team better, Ten Hag's arrivals have been horrendous and no clear direction, whereas Artetas signings have always been calculated and smart.

    Greenwood would have been a huge difference. Greenwood and Rashford as inside forwards with Zirkzee as a 9,5 would make sense. In addition, 2 number 8’s with a 6 instead of this crap and perhaps things would be different. Casemiro Erickson and Maino. ( yes, Bruno out because of lack of positional sense / intelligence) Ait Nouri would be a huge signing as left back as well. ( Shaw is crap )
