Maintenance free landscaping from all types of weeds & unwanted grass. I used regular & commercial weed barriers then applied red lava rocks, black charcoal rocks, & white marble rocks that transformed this garden into an amazing experience.
Where to buy? Amazon or other retailers. Type in “Weed barrier landscape heavy duty fabric” the price varies of the size you choose.
Where to purchase Lava Rocks? Home Depot or Lowe’s Store.
Used 95 bags combined with white and lava rocks. $4.50 each = $414.00
Border / Commercial barrier: $185.00

I'd like to know this as well. Eventually soil will blow in the wind and accumulate in the rock, and seeds WILL germinate. So, what do you do when you have weeds growing in your rock? Thanks.

Where will the rain water go? It'll drain back into your foundation! If you are in a freezing zone, you're foundation will crack and the water will seep into your basement.
He didn't remove the soil and grass to regrade and assuming the original grading's is correct (looks to be sloping away from the foundation correctly in some angles) the water will move away from the house regardless of what you put on top. I think water movement will be even quicker since there are 2 layers of barrier/large aggregate at that top layer and no soil or grass to slow down and absorb that water. Yes, water will still seep through but not as much will be absorbed.
I would've landscape the brown gravel area for some life back there and make that white gravel walk path stand out more though.

I love the black professional garden ground blanket. Why did you use the lighter weed barrier, also?
He did not need to use the lighter weed barrier. My guess is he just wanted to be sure nothing would ever grow through it.

I just wonder how about after rain? Is there any water standing issue with it?
I had it done in my backyard using this fabric plus the regular fabric. It will take time to seep through it but eventually it will. it also depends how much rain.
How does it work so far, any problems with weeds?

Why you don’t remove the grass first?

do you have a link to the barrier ? and you did not fold the tarp 6 inches under near edges and I can see your tarp against the wall.
How many bags did you use and what was your price point. I know it might different for me I just want to understand how it was under $600.

Boy you spent probably 10x money easily on bagged stone than loose stone. In like a Nissan frontier size truck you can get 1/2 yard pretty full bedford 20.00.
What will happen to the grass underneath?
The grass will die. So there was no need to spray it with grass killer or remove it first.
