- The Centennial Edition Shelby Mustang is here to celebrate and it is packing extra performance. Under the hood is a 5.0L Whipple supercharged V8 that is pumping out over 750HP & is mated to a short throw 6-speed manual gearbox. On the outside you will find a plethora of special edition badges, 20in forged Sheby wheels, custom hood and rear spoiler. Gotta imagine this car is ridiculously marked up for no reason. Just buy a GT and slap a whipple on yourself and be in about 1/4 of the cost. Then you get to tell this guy he has some sick $100k badges

While I actually agree with you and would do the same this car would hold its value and actually increase greatly in value in 10 to 20 years.
@@carlojoseph5858 I doubt it. At the end of the day it's just a GT. Sure you'll get a little more in resale, but highly doubt it increases.
$230k Mustang GT is hardly affordable to most folks. At that price, might as well buy a Huracan or GT3RS!
GT3RS are north of 500k now 😅 if you can even find one

Agree about the steering wheel. It should be covered in a special way.
they could have put that logo somewhere inconspicuous like the wheel caps or the key fob, not a fan on the hood like a sponsor logo from nascar.
I flashed back to Mr. Whipple of "don't squeeze the Charmin" back in the day when I hear Whipple Supercharger.

That Oxford White is banging. Looks beautiful even if its not the best ever. Don't care for the big penny on the hood, I think they added enough flair for Shelby on it.

Its worth a pretty penny. The big penny fits in that sense.
The prop rod fits for track purposes. Don't want to be out there trying to get under the hood with a blown hood strut. More reliable at the end of the day. 💙✌️
Absolutely it needs brakes. I have a Whippled 10R80 2020 GT with the BMR catalogue out back plus H&R coilovers but it was only when I upgraded the brakes to a big Willwood front and rear config did the car feel awesome around canyons. They stop on a dime and the car hardly falls over its nose anymore under heavy braking. Best bang for $ you can get and that's coming from a friend of mine following me in a GT3 RS. People, please upgrade to a big brake kit front and back when you boost these!

Mr. Shelby was a member of the WWII generation. He did so much for Ford and should be honored. This car is stunning!
I guess you can upgrade pads and rotors. If you want and add a aluminum dead pedal. I need the roof to go up and down and a automatic. I can live with the prop rod. Get rid of 5 Pennys. Just a Shelby horn button would be nice. Keep the one on the back. Great review. Thanks you two !!!

Hey Joe, great review as always, nice car , but good heavens the penny on the hood is sooooo cheezy, hopefully they offer a delete for it.. awful miss on that .. also, can do away with the Shelby profiles and signatures everywhere, wtf.. even on the seats! Omg! the car is literally called "Shelby" .. lol... ... I'd like it kept subtle, simple, perhaps just Shelby Centennial door sill plates.. and the small plate on the right side of the dash that celebrates it.. that's just me.. love the stick shift tho, interior really nice, got that right except for the profile on the seat of course!!

Great mustang the six generation mustang still looks good despite a seven generation mustang is out. The only thing I don’t like about it it’s not automatic. I can’t drive a manual shift Joe. Please start showing the interior of the car when you show your driver footage. Just like you did on the range rover from yesterday review keep up the good work Joe I love watching your reviews.

@@G.G.001You're going to trade the tremec 3160 for a Getrag MT-82? You can always put a Whipple on the Mach 1. I will never trade my Mach 1 for this.
I don't care for all that black on a white car. Stripes should have been silver, like on the 2007 Shelby GT. Take a look at the all black one, which actually is really nice looking.

Joe, Not digging the silhouette of Carroll Shelby on the hood. I’d have preferred a small medallion on the dash, or a pair of tasteful badges on the fenders. Sweet car though.

The logo on the hood looks terrible... but the rest of the car looks amazing.
I don't like the large centennial hood decal. An emblem like that on the rear panel mounted towards the front of the hood would have been classier.

There is no such thing as a Shelby “pretender” ‘67 GT 500 was the first big block pony car. Centennial Edition is a beautiful car that provides a superlative driving experience. Too bad they are so valuable that none of the owners will drive them much.

The wheels are lame. They look like they belong on a v6. They shouldn't have put that medallion where they did on the hood. It should be right above the headlight on the corner of the hood, offset from the stripes. That would have looked great. At least the brake jobs will be cheaper when you burn through them tossing that puppy around. Great car minus the wheels and the placement of the graphic on the hood. And yes there should be more SHELBY swag implemented in the interior too.

230 k, for a mustang, have you been drinking, for a month straight. They are sitting on lots everywhere here in Michigan. Not worth the money, he couldn't even smoke the tires on takeoff. He said it that! Dodge has the best cars, when it comes to power.
