Hi. My advice is to try a Gefell M71s or UMT70. Those are using the original M7 capsule with pvc membrane like the famous u47. Those are also transformerless design like tlm range. The gefell m71s is one of my favourite transformerless mics.
I have all of these microphones and the TLM 49 sounds nothing like an AKG P420. If anything the P420 is much more similar to the TLM 103 and uses a copy of the K87 capsule not the 47 capsule used in the TLM49.

Personally I have a tlm 49 and hands down it’s gotta be top 5 best mic ever made the tone is very detailed full and rich dope set up

TLM 103 ❤💯💪BETTER saturated WITH the music. ALL were good tho. Akg mxl not enough differences to buy a Neumann in MY opinion.
What are your settings on the Avalon 737 for the TLM 49? I'm curious.
For this test it was flat EQ, 4:1 ratio with a -10 threshold.

You should give the TLM 193 a go. Thats my favourite of the TLM range which I believe to be the most versatile also.
I’m very curious about the 193 far as sound how would you describe it I don’t see or hear to much on it I have the 49 and it’s reallly good on hip hop
