I honestly couldn't give a shit if we get to see "big matches". Super League is for TV viewers, not fans. Great Man City vs. Barcelona in Saudi Arabia for the 500th time. Under Super League qualification criteria, a smaller team having an amazing one season, don't get rewarded with a chance to play the best teams in the world. That's what I love about football. It's a meritocracy. Under their revised qualification rules released in 2023, a team like Girona or my club Aston Villa would start in the lowest level of European football, despite if they finished in the Top4 in their country. Becuase the Super League knows that Sheriff from Moldova beating Real Madrid is bad for business. Or FC Copenhagen knocking out Man U. Or Juventus or Spurs having a bad league season and failing to qualify. Everything about it is designed to make things as easy as possible for the traditional "big clubs" while putting every hurdle possible in front of smaller teams. That's why the Super League concept is massively unpopular in places with lots of fan owned clubs like Germany. The only clubs that want it are the old guard. The clubs that think they have a right to compete at the top level on name value alone, but are seeing their dominance slip through their fingers. But that's life. Empires rise, empires fall. English teams won 6 Champions Leagues back to back in the 70s and 80s - then didn't win another until 1999.
The so-called Champions league is the Super league cause it was made to be a competition for 5 countries. 5th place teams are now qualifying directly. The 5 countries have guaranteed 20+ places. That is the super league being called differently and only theoretically different cause with 5 teams having a guaranteed place the richest will always be there. If Man Utd e.g. needs there will be 6 from those leagues one day. Those leagues started to be over-represented when others were more competitive and those leagues are watched cause people go along with what’s fashionable and the gap increases. UEFA started creating the league for the rich and the league for the poor long time ago.
lets not pretened that the UCL is much better for this, we now have 16 teams from 4 leagues + another 2 spots that will go to those leagues so 18 teams from 4 associations, and also the 5th ranked league gets 3 and a play off, 6th gets 2 and a play off and 7th gets 1 and a play off, how the fuck is it fair that 2 positions difference is 2 whole ucl spots, in total this seaosn w ehave 24 teams from the top 5 league and interestingly enough 24 teams advance to the next stage which is 2/3 teams so 2/3 teams are from 5 leagues, lets be real here UEFA are also greedy scumbags
Tbf, England was banned from playing in Europe in 1984 after the haysel disaster and was only allowed to play in Europe again in 1991 (Liverpool was allowed play again in Europe in 1992) but interestingly the England ban lad to the creation of the EPL in 1991.
@sehu1291 Football indeed should be constant but that doesn't mean we shouldn't evolve and seek to improve the game But obviously not in the form of the Super League
The Super league is a system that keeps rich clubs at the top and the poor at the bottom. With the 3 divisons in the main "star" league only 3 teams get relegated, while 16 get relegated in the other two divisons. So smaller teams will 60% of the time get back to 3rd division. And even when you have a good seaoson for example this season Leverkusen will never get awarded for their league performences and will just rot in the 3rd or 2nd division. While big clubs like for example Chealse could realisticly get relegated but still finish 13th in the star league allowing them to countinue playing in Europe. So in my opinion #NoToSuperLeague
The Super League is like a group of spoilt, self-entitled kids in a school. who have a vastly inflated impression of their own popularity, who arrange a party, where they invite all the kids who are considered cool and popular, plus they may allow a handful of the less cool and popular kids into it, but most of them aren't invited. However, the self-appointed cool, popular kids then discover how popular they really are, when hardly anyone wants to attend their shitty little party! And by the way, I am no fan of the Premier League, just in case any of the plastics, who haven't a clue how real fans think assume that. Many of them seem to think that only Premier League fans are opposed to the ESL! That is how out of touch they are! Yes, let's get rid of the laughably and inaccurately named, Champions League, Europa League and Conference Leagues _ _ _ _ _ and re-instate the European, UEFA and European Cup Winners Cups, with their knock out formats!
Premier League distribute money across the football pyramid. Other european leagues bulked up a few fat clubs and thats what gave the demise of smaller european club. Tv rights were shared in PL.
I mean Super League is an attempt to for individuals to make as much as money as possible, to maximize European football potential in terms of profit. But I do think the blu,e silver and start league format makes sense though.
Good video mate I’d say tho European leagues need to join together to great new pyramid Replacing their current leagues think would make them stronger and compete with our premier league However do believe the new ffp rules will stop premier league teams competing financially as much well least the smaller financial ones
Scottish clubs should join the European Super League. Clubs like Glasgow Celtic, Glasgow Rangers and Aberdeen should join the European Super League. Clubs from countries like Scotland, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Iceland, Northern Ireland, the Irish Republic, Greece, Denmark, Ukraine, Finland, Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands could compete with clubs from the big countries. My idea would be three hierarchical divisions of twenty with two north and south divisions of twenty below that.
Why are you copying and pasting this same comment throughout all these videos? Are you doing it for a PR firm, to drum up support for Scottish clubs getting into it, if it happens? I'm Scottish and I hate the idea, as does everyone I know who has expressed an opinion in it anyway. If there are 80 clubs in it, and there are something like 55, or something leagues in Europe, how many Scottish clubs do you think will get into it? How easy will it be to get into, if a club isn't in from the start, or if they get relegated from it? Also, remember the initial ESL proposal? The creeps behind that proposal will still be in charge. What's the betting that they decide to do away with promotion and relegation once it's been running fore a while? (Actually, I suspect it will not run for long, as do they really think that all the fans of the THOUSANDS of clubs, who will be effectively excluded from it, will watch it?) Florentino Perez claimed that 4 billion would watch it. Should anyone who makes such ludicrous claims be trusted? He is clearly taking us all for fools! 4 billion is HALF the population of the ENTIRE Earth! Think of all the people that you know, including women, children, babies, toddlers etc.. Are 50% of them football fans? Also, even amongst football fans, as I've said, huge numbers (especially of the core, highest contributing fans) HATE the idea and will not watch it!

Maybe in other countries where outside of the top tier no one cares yeah, sure but some 4th league clubs in England get nearly 20,000 fans. Also, stop judging success by the Champions League, it’s a cup competition. Other countries moaning about the EPL is ridiculous. It’s an open market. They don’t have as competitive and appealing product. Simple as. It isn’t the Premier leagues issue. This is a societal issue where we moan other people are rich and it’s evil. Instead of fixing our own issues and working on ourselves. La Liga was only ever so popular because of Messi and Ronaldo. They had that dominance for 10-15 and did nothing with it. In terms of growing the whole league as a product. No one is watching Levante vs Sevilla.
The superleague isn't replacing the premier league or any league. It's meant to replace the champions league. How is it a closed shop when they're planning to have over 80 teams participating with no permanent members? Is the premier league with its state-owned clubs, not a closed shop? The 4th division club you're talking about can qualify for the SL like the UCL, what difference does it make?
