@@badboy0607mate Murray has 3 GS, 2 Olympic Golds and has been world number one. He might not be up there with these 3 because no-one is, but he is definitely one of the top 30 players of all time imo.
The Big 4 and the Big 3 are referring to two different things. From an overall tennis history perspective, there's a Big 3, the three greatest of all time with the 20+ slams. But for something like 7 or 8 years there were four players who, aside from freak runs, almost entirely locked off the Slam tournaments, Masters and rankings. Murray won 46 titles, 14 Masters (7 of the 9, same as Federer, Nadal and Agassi). He got to 21 GS semi finals - only two fewer than Pete Sampras and 8th in the all time list. He also was ranked #1 for coming up to a year. Wawrinka may have won three slams as well but he was nowhere near Murray's consistent quality. The 'Big 4' was very much a thing.
Best way to put it really, i think its the newbies who keep saying its a big 3 coz thats all they have seen recently but they dont realise that Murray was always getting to the semis and was winning a lot of tournaments.
There is no more debate about who is the best, it is just beautiful what these three guys have given us over the last 20 years. Love to all three of them

I truly respect Murray... everyone Forney just how good he was... he was number 2 a lot of the time... ahead of Federer and Nadal... if not for injuries and the unlucky nature of being in this generation Andy would probably have had a career with more slams than Sampras

To understand the notion of the Big 4, you need to look at the history of men’s tennis over the last 15 years. From 2004 to 2007 tennis was dominated by Federer and Nadal, with Fed almost unbeatable in 2005-6 and Nadal almost unbeatable on clay. In 2006-7 there were a bunch of really good teenagers coming through and in 2007 one of them - Djokovic- started to pull clear of the rest and looked like he might threaten the Big 2, winning his first Masters in 2007 and the Australian Open in 2008. Through 2008 Murray started to catch up and by late 2008 it was clear that these 4 were way ahead of everyone else. From 2008 to 2010 they dominated with Federer and Nadal still at the top, but Murray and Djokovic not far behind and everyone else trailing in the dust. It was at this time they started to be known as the Big 4. If you ask whether Murray belonged in the Big 4 at that time, the answer is clearly yes. By most measures he was actually better than Djokovic over that period, and it was Murray who broke the 4-year reign of Federer and Nadal as the top 2 in the rankings when he reached number 2 in August 2009. (See added note below.) From 2011 to 2013 they dominated even more, now with Djokovic and Nadal on top and Murray and Federer a little way behind. Between them they won every top level tournament for those three years except the Paris Masters in 2012 (52 out of 53). If ever there was a ‘Big 4’ it was then. Did Murray belong? Clearly yes. He won 2 Majors (+ 2 finals and 4 semis), Olympic Gold , and 3 Masters, compared to Federer’s 1 Major (+ 1 final and 5 semis) , 1 WTF, and 4 Masters. Nobody has suggested that Federer should not be in the Big 4! Since 2014 their collective grip has been slightly less strong. Rarely have all 4 been on good form at the same time. Murray had a miserable 2014 as he struggled to get his game back after back surgery, but still reached quarters or better in all 4 slams and finished the year at number 6. He then came back strongly through 2015 and 2016 finally getting to number 1 ranking, only to succumb to a series of injuries in 2017. So the question should not be ‘does Murray belong in the Big 4’, but ‘does the Big 4 as a designation still make sense historically since Murray’s career record is not comparable to the Other 3′. I think the answer is still clearly yes. The Big 4 designation was never based on their career records, but on their domination as a group. That level of domination, over such an extended period, is certainly unique in the history of tennis and probably of any sport, and Murray has been part of that domination at every stage since the summer of 2008. They have all had their ups and downs especially since 2013, and Murray was clearly down in 2014 and 2017, but on the other hand was carrying the torch on his own for much of 2016. So the Big 4 does make sense, and only makes sense if Murray is part of it. ADDED NOTE: Murray v Djokovic 2008-2010 Was Murray really better then Djokovic in 2008-10, when the notion of the ‘Big 4’ first appeared? There was certainly very little in it. Some numbers from that period - Majors : Novák reached two finals, won one against outsider Tsonga (beating Federer on the way) and lost the other to Rafa. Andy reached two finals and lost them both to Federer (beating Rafa on the way once). Give that one to Novák, but not by much. Head-to-head: Andy 3, Novák 1. They met so seldom because they spent most of the three years ranked 3 and 4 so on opposite sides of every draw. They would usually have to get past the dominant Federer and Nadal and meet in a final, and that happened only once. 3-1 is not really significant. Masters : Andy 6, Novák 3 Titles : Andy 12, Novák 11 v top 10: Andy 32-19, Novák 30-31 v Roger: Andy 7-5, Novák 5-8 v Rafa - Andy 4-7, Novák 5-10 Overall match wins - Andy 165-45 (78.5%), Novák 196-54 (78.4%) - call that one a draw So by just about every measure except Major titles, Andy was more successful then Novák over those years. There is certainly nothing in their record to suggest that it was to be Novák who would take off and dominate the following couple of years. Murray v Federer 2011-2013 And just for a laugh, here is a similar comparison between Murray and Federer from 2011 to 2013 Majors : Roger reached two finals, won one against Murray and lost the other to Rafa, beating Novak on the way both times. Andy reached five finals, won two and lost two to Novak and one to Roger. Andy clearly on top there. Head-to-head: Andy 3, Roger 3 Masters : Andy 3, Roger 4 (plus 1 WTF for Roger and one Olympic Gold for Andy) Titles : Andy 12, Roger 10 v top 10: Andy 24-22, Roger 30-28 v Novak : Andy 5-7, Roger 3-9 v Rafa - Andy 1-4, Roger 2-8 Overall match wins - Andy 156-38 (80.4%), Roger 178-42 (80.7%) - call that one a draw as well So I would say Andy ahead on most measures, but not much in it.

🤝🤝🤝🤝
Happy Retirement legend RF 🙌🎾
the way they sit is also different..
Federer senza Novak Rafa e Andy, non sarebbe arrivato a tanto, si sono dati molto fra di loro i magnifici quattro credo unici nella storia
Federer and novak are friends.
There will always be tension between the three......because they were all vying for the top prize. I'm sure Federer is amazed that Nadal and Novak topped him. Still an all time great.
Big 4 = 68 GS 🏆
69 and counting 🎉
Love see Novak and Rafa sitting next to each other 😂😂😂😂😂🎾🎾🎾...
Yall know they don't have problem with each other. It's the fans creating it #smdh
@@ce7768 nadal doesn't like novak, there's nothing to create budd.
@@ce7768 you can even see how nadal wrote in his own book his admiration of novak, how he respects him as his biggest rival and problem throughout his career. not saying he liked him, but he respected him and had a better connection, all of that has disappeared throughout the years.
@@slXD100 okay.
Nadal didnt look att Novak when he was talking 😅 there is something
Cool ...
Let's here it for Roger. He is the real GOAT. I'm sick of hearing about Serena.
Totally agree with you i just dont get it !! How can people compare its almost like another sport because the women only play best of 3 sets
The big Four
Its funny that Roger says tennis is bigger than the Big 4 because its kind of not.
Why didn't Pete show up for this?
There haven’t been Big 4, just Big 3! ❤
3 GOAT and one legend
There has been a big 4 and there still is the big 3. It's two different things
There has always been a big 4 whether you like it or not.
Big 3 players players like djokovic, nadal and federer didn't mind having murray gather there. Why are you so talkative?
👏👏👏👏👏
Djokovic sat like a toddler !
Great players including Murray who was always pushing them to their final limits.Duece, Advantage. He would have been the Pete Samprass of this generation had the big 3 resulted to drugs
Roger body talk says that he's a bit nervous 😓
Sorry to all the tennis Karens out there. But it started as a Big Four back in 2008 and now it will end as a Big Four in 2022.
Stop whining and deal with it. Murray is obviously part of the group and you fools can’t do anything about it.
@Albert K. Your mom
@Albert K. Andy Murray have 3 major titles,2 Olympic gold medals, 1 atp finals title,14 atp masters titles
He reached 11 Grandslam finals also
Novak is the guy who beat them all! 😅
That would be Rafa
@@duncan3932 Novak has a winning record against Rafa, Roger and Andy.
Big 3. There was never a Big 4.
There has always been a big 4 whether you like it or not.
Is this the tennis version of Mount Rushmore
Murray is 11 - 14 against Federer.
Only Nadal and Djokovič have a better record against the Maestro.
Wawrinka is 3 - 23 against Federer just to compare.
Put some respecc on Murray's name.
Muzz is the only scotts I can understand 😂
