Welcome again to the Wolf Den for a Tech-Tip. It's time to build a few more HD Croaker Floats for summer. Here's how I do it:
.051 heavy SS lure wire - Obtained on Ebay always from seller:
edgara1106salguero
4" Pear Floats - In bulks can be obtained at:
www.floatsunlimited.com - Comal
A few beads, and a heavy swivel to be used as weight to get float to stand straight up.
A vice is handy.
A live 3-4" Croaker, or a large Mullet and you're ready.
This is just "ONE" way of rigging a float for the job. SURE, there's loads of other options. I just like these, because I've used them for Croaker fishing to chunking baits to 100 pound Blacktip sharks, behind a shrimp boat over the nets. Emphasis is on "H.D."
Nice video Capt. Thanks I am getting into making my own floats. I don't have a vice I have to use wire bending pliers. I needed to know the type of wire use. this was very helpful.
I just did it a few times.....the pliers are the way to go. I just use the heaviest wire I can buy. Because I ended up using these mostly for shark fishing.
nice info mate
GREAT VIDEO
Awesome video!! Just ordered me some floats!!
great, ended up using these mostly for shark fishing behind shrimp boats.
@@CaptDavesSportfishing I'll use for striped bass on the Tennessee River.
@@EastTennesseeFishing I figured that...
You might look up Looping Pliers too. Nice video BTW!
HD is always good. Might adapt that type of float rig for Stripers in our river. Still looking for those soft foam sliding floats that you use. Damn things are hard to find. LOL
send email, I'll pass on where to get ''the best''....ended up using these for shark fishing.
