  • This is my all time favourite live bait rig for chasing big Snapper and Mulloway at night on our close reefs ( 30 to 40 mtrs ). Live Pike on this rig is deadly!
    Good luck and have fun with this rig at night.

      @@Aussie-Fishing I tried the rig out yesterday with some livies at Jumpinpin and ended up with a bull shark on one and busted off multiple times on others by whatever was hungry - point is the rig works a treat for getting the hook ups - thanks

    Great vid. I’ve started pre tying my snell rigs/traces and wrapping them around a short length of pool noodle which i keep in a systema container. Great way to avoid tying knots out on the water.

      I keep each rig in their own small ziplock bag in a Sistema container as well. I find can fit quite a few bags in the container ready to go and no risk of tangling with the others 👍

    Thanks for your videos Shannon! I'm a rooky so a three-way swivel seems easier. Are there reasons you prefer not to use them? Cheers

      A three way swivel will work fine for this rig. I don't use a lot of swivels I just prefer to tie knots.
      Good luck mate.

      Hi mate a 3 oz sinker should be fine on that rig mate. It shouldn't break 40 lb fluro carbon leader.

    Is this a good rig for small whiting as bait? Thanks for the educational video regardless.

    Shannon any idea on how to stop the livie twisting around the main line?

    • @Aussie-Fishing
      @Aussie-Fishing  Год назад

      Hi Brian, Make sure you have a good sized sinker, say 10 ounce , shorten your branch line (hooks) sounds like its a little long. When dropping this rig to the bottom DO NOT let it sink as fast as possible, drop slowly by running the line through your fingers. Slow controlled drop should stop the twisting with the other changes.Good luck mate.

    Can you use that rig in the daytime?

    • @Aussie-Fishing
      @Aussie-Fishing  2 года назад +1

      Yes mate absolutely. It will work very well on Reds and Jew during the day. I only talk about using it at night because thats when I mainly fish offshore.

      Thanks for the video. What hook size do you recommend for mulloway? Are top and bottom hooks the same size? Nige
