I went to Point Loma High School in the 80's and spent tons of time in Mission Beach, it was like my home away from home away from home !!! Ocean Beach was my absolute favorite place in the world !!!
Aww yah on the boardwalk people watching is very interesting and fun! Like how you mentioned in your other video how fast locals realize who pays rent and who comes and goes each week.
Thanks - too FUN! Going to SDSU, lived on San Luis Rey and Oceanfront late 70's-80s. ($450 for 2 bedroom!) Just rolled our lives away on boardwalk (still roll here in CT) and swam that 75 degree Ocean, LUVED. Gr8 memories of abalone parties, Dan Fauts and Chargers. Very nice tour and great style you have. I will re-watch this to pretend we still live there, HA!
I loved my years in Mission Beach. Salem Court. I was either surfing or riding up and down that boardwalk literally every single day. Such a great time in my life. Thank you for watching, many more like this to come!
Amazing video! I'm moving to SD in a couple months, would love to live in Mission Beach! Btw, this channel should be getting more attention, always great videos with tons of details and real experience
Another great video.I lived in San Diego many years ago and went to Mission Beach and Mission bay.I love Belmont park, the rollercoaster is fun.I also love swimming, the water can be a bit cold yet on a hot day it feels great.I never had trouble with sting rays.I did swim in the bay once and it was nasty.
mission beach is an amazing beach. but be aware that that ocean water is freezing cold, but once you have been in there for a while, youll be going in and out no problem. i need to go back there soon.
Haha. That water temperature hits you for a minute, that's for sure. Also, I should have mentioned you need to shuffle your feet in the surf to scare off the sting rays in the spring and summer when its warm. You dont want to get stung, trust me. It sucks. Thanks for watching as always! I need to hop on your channel and catch up on your videos. Will do tonight.
@@wesleyguest oh yeah i do not want to get stung by a stingray and im trying to do more vlogging. like there are so many places i wanna go to but i just cant right now due to shortage of money and i have no rides to go anywhere. but im really trying to vlog more. and im really trying to grow my youtube channel. hopefully i will get to start vlogging full time.
FYI, surfing by the jetty may result in getting hassled by some ‘locals only’ douchebags… my buddy surfed there a few weeks back (we’re San Diegans, but normally surf other breaks), and he got some threatening shit-talk.
I live up in Orange County (Irvine) and have family in AZ. We rent a place in Old Mission Beach every year for 2 weeks in August. It's just a blast with the families' kids, parents, and grandparents all in one place. Kids love the beach and the boardwalk, and the adults love the ability to walk to a bar/restaurant any time of the day.
I'm curious?? At most amusement parks you can usually purchase a all day pass that gives you unlimited rides does this applies to Belmont Park? Also is there a charge for the volleyballs courts, how does this work?...Thanks
Great questions. Yes, you can get ticket bundles and passes for Belmont Park. Check it out on their website: www.belmontpark.com/tickets-passes/ For the volleyball courts, most of them are on a first come, first serve basis. There are 3 or 4 that can reserved for events and league play types of stuff. Thank you for watching!
yo, lived in a tri-floor at 815 San Jose Pl....right behind Mission Coffee (it still there?) anyway, had a blast (parking was a bit of a bitch) Mission beach is chill vibes 24/7..the surfing at s. mission jetty could mimic 'the wedge' in newport at times..couldn't believe we moved away after realizing the freeway access and commute to other areas was kind of a bitch '93 SDSU-ZURA ZOO/SD 4EVAAAA!!! .
The Mission is still there! Love that place. You were very close to my house on Salem. Maybe we threw shoes on the beach with Tecates 😆 way back when! Thank you for watching! 👊🏻
The water is 75 degree refreshing and great with that sun beating down on you, HEAVEN! People are super and still so beautiful there. Superior to Orlando hell on Earth.

I took a basic sailing class in August at MBAC. Going to take advanced sailing in November. Really nice people at MBAC.

It’s true right. Locals know the other locals

"Dan Fauts and Chargers." wow dude. lol. born in S.D. but moved away really young. Still remember cheering that air attack as a kid on the East Coast.
@@eQuariuz AWESOME to hear this. (I had my Jets-Fan Nephew cheering!) Very Cool!!!

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that.
Extremely well done, thanks alot
Thanks for watching! Love being down in Mission 🏄♂️
Great video! My family will definitely have to get over to south Mission Beach and check out the Jetty!
It's great down there. Lots of people out and about. Tons of kids! Thank you for watching Tami!

Haha. The bay. I’ve been in more then a few times. Hope I took a long enough shower 😆

@@wesleyguest I’m looking forward to growing my channel. My goal for this year is 100,000 subscribers. Once I start uploading more frequently.
I hope you reach it. That would be awesome.
Great video! I watched an old 8mm video from 1948/49. Fiestabahia Mission Beach! Just curious where that park was.
Saw a few pics from Fiesta Bahia. Looked like quite the festival 🎉. Thanks for watching 👊🏻
I went to Mission beach! I stayed in a beach house there! It is a beautiful place!
Love it down there 👍🏻. Thanks for watching!

There can be a&$holes anywhere you go. Mission Beach is no exception. Sorry you had that experience. Some people just suck.

I lived in Mission Beach, OB, and La Jolla back in 1968 to 1970. Military, surfer...man, it doesn't look ANYTHING like I remember. I'm glad I left.
Very different now. Thanks for watching
Huh? Looked pretty awesome to me.
I miss my San Diego 2003 moved to Minnesota 2014 can’t wite go back vist ❤ I had good time with my family friends in park

What is prettier/cleaner - MB or OB?
Very different communities even though they are close. I still prefer MB but I’m biased since I lived there for so long.
You didn't mention the Wavehouse at Belmont . . . is it gone?
It's called the Beach House now. The Wave machine is still there but defunct and permanently kept under tarp. Thanks for watching!
@@wesleyguest Bummer. It was fun :-)
It was super fun. It's still there, maybe it will re open someday.
San Diego is overpriced and over the last few years declined. Crime, trash, needles etc. The water is cold and gross.
