Wow! You are such a good teacher. The filming was great, and you addressed exactly what I was looking for which was how to finish the edges of the tank tops I'm trying to make (as well as the hem) to look more professional. There is a class on Craftsy about this, but I can't afford it. (Note: You should try to be a Craftsy instructor and get paid.) Now I want a topstitching machine and I'll bet it's way out of my price range. I'll try the other workarounds. Thank you again.
I have used a twin stretch needle to complete binding on my spandex projects. I found the needle to leave a nice finished edge. Saying that I did go through a couple needles experimenting... do not backstitch with twin needle as it will break.. instead use the "fix" function on your sewing machine or overlap stitches as you did on binding.
I really enjoy watching other people sew as well..... I'm not a fan of double needles but mostly because there's always some mishap whenever I try them. I'm also unsure if it would be enough stretch? Maybe someone that's tried a double needle on this type of binding will leave a comment.
thanks so much. I bought 13 curtains for almost 9K but they came with hooks which doesn't work on rods. so i decided to do some sewing on ma own to convert it to work on plain rod.
Just a side note. It would be easier to fold your binding and serge the end first leaving a couple of inches loose on each side so you can join them at the sides seams. Then coverstitch if you want or just straight stitch the serge bit down about 1/8” from your seam.
Would a double needle be of any use sewing the binding, or would it not be stretchy enough? I enjoyed this tutorial a great deal. Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks; very useful. Note on Wild Ginger.. As far as I can tell this software won't work on windows 7 since the requirement for net framework3 .5 sp1 is not compatible with windows 7.
I have all the machines that I dream of a then some. Emroidery conected to the pc wth the digitaliser...etc.4 others machines for zigzaz , fancy stiches etcc,,,serger (2) and a couplemore in storage. @22364014 Hmm, I've been using Wild Ginger with Windows 7 without any problems, both version 4 and 5. There's also little mention from anyone in the WG forums about Win 7 compatibility that I've seen.
Hi I tried with a regular t-shirt pattern and I cut out the back side and the final product have a wave under my arm holes, it is any way that I can download the pattern?
