- A 1992 diesel-electric drive LeTourneau L1000 wheel loader digging off overburden from on top of a coal seam and loading it into a 100 ton Euc R90C. The Euc features a custom fabricated box that is undergoing field testing; because of this, the loader is required to three pass the truck.

@TheWheelloaders Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
One of the finest wheels loaders ever made, When I first started mining at Quintette coal we had several including an L1100, then later on a L1400 for our 240 ton 830's. Beautiful machine.
Looks like the arms have had some repairs done
@UnitCrane514 Sure I do, always something new! I don't know if you joined my Facebook yet but that's the best way to keep up to date with what I'm in the process of filming or locating.
In theory any engine that stays at a constant RPM is far more fuel efficient than one which is constantly changing RPM like in a conventional wheel loader.
Your videos are fantastic. Very much enjoy and learn from them. Thank you for all your hard work.
@PAmining Hello Locomotive - or new D-7e. That would be a cool video - I suspect they are not widely used in mining, but a video on a D-7e of them would be interesting (if you have the time). Thanks.
Nice crisp video, a welcomed sight on RUclips! The L1000 looks so small compared to her big sister, the L2350!
Awesome video, really is a loud beast. Watching that got me thinking that it would be really cool if you could somehow show the impact these large machines can have and some of the techniques used for cutting and filling in these large mine operations.
Great video - thanks for the quality work. Are all of LeTourneau's loaders diesel-electric?
@56pw Thanks man! Yeah there was some reason why the truck was being shorted a bucket but I forget the exact the full details.
Just loved your video Justin
Ya think they would let me operate that beast for a day for free LOL
Thats enough to make your mouth water hahaha
awsome
Thats great footage there PA! I was going to say that the loader should be 4 passing the truck then I read your discription about the proto box,But it still looks like theres room for one more!! LOL
@LanceCorpralDavidS Oh yeah. Any mining truck can get stuck
Wow,that Le Tourneau looks huge ! And heavy ! Nice.
@LanceCorpralDavidS Depends on how bad their stuck
Excellent video 👍👍👍
Great video.
Kyle
@Bomaz727 Thanks. Walk arounds are for kids!! That will be coming up in the future
@nickiordanis Thanks. Absolutly, that's a good idea. I'll have to think it over and see if I can make something happen
@muckrunner308 I've seen times where trucks almost go over the burm and need a hoe to pull them out.
wow, reel nice, i was somewhat hired to advertise a letoureau parts.......i know a guy selling parts for one, hes parting it out
@FordGuy61 Thanks. Oh yeah 17yd is a far cry from 53yd!
9 times out 10 when our 793s get stuck if the operator is smart and takes there foot off the pedal as soon as they stop moving you can normally tip the load and drive them out, if there a clown and keep the boot in and dig them down, they gotta tip the load then get a D10 on the front to pull them out of the hole they've dug
@jserra17 Your welcome, and yes they are
1000 is big, but there's much bigger
COOL!!! Do you have any future vintage equipment walk-arounds???
LeTourneau should of kept these old cabs on their loaders. The newer 50 series cabs SUCK...
excellent video... I sure hope one day you come across a Cat 994 or Komatsu wa1200.
@Bomaz727 Hahaha!
@PAmining Well i'm a big kid and i can't wait lol
How many different sizes of front end loaders do they manufacture?
@PS 400 Have you run across a Northwest excavator
with a straight vertical mast cabled boom and stick but hydraulic bucket?
@PAmining it must be hell to get them out
Do those dump trucks ever get stuck?
excellent Video.
Cummins powered qsk
Awesome machine! i hope you did a detailed walk around of it
@edktm Thanks!
You have outdone yourself on camera angle, very cool
@bankrun04 Be careful what you wish for lol
