Thanks for a great video. Suzuki is no longer selling here in the US, and I'd enjoy having a Jimny. I'll have to settle for my 2004 Vitara V6 5 speed 4x4. Suzuki builds a great vehicle, I love the off road capability in my Vitara. Great cars and loved the video you made.
It sounds like a Diesel truck at least when you take it off the beaten path but I am quite impressed with how you demonstrated its off road credentials. Don't you think its suspension set yo would be too firm on the road albeit it performs exceptionally on the desert? For most buyers, this would deter them from purchasing one as it is not a family car and the wallowy ride around the corners further steals from its charm. However, those looking for a second car and adventure seeking buyers might consider it as one of their serious considerations.
My partner and I ordered an Auto because she can't drive manual, but after test driving both, the manual was so much better to drive and she wants to learn manual while we change our order.
Jimny use abs for increase offroad capability as it don't have LSD on its differential (it using open diff). Probably its why suzuki don't give true stability control off.
No, the standard comes without the screen. Also standard is Bluetooth. I went on RUclips to see whether the screen was a better option but it seems that it's best to not get it
my first car is a 2009 jimny. Only reason i sold it coz of my family ( hate it to the core) as it was my only means of transportation. Which means space is a big problem...!! I dont get it why suzuki not considering a 4 door version??!!?? Yes it is a good 2nd or 3rd option car. In fact a good weekender...
fristly...i like ur video but u dont need low range in sand. u shld use high range and leave the low range for rocks or steep falls. .... traction control shld not interete when off in sand thats so annoying like in pajeros! .....but great to have this traction control on rocks as there is no rear diff lock....so traction control will defintiely help there and would be enough for this light wieght car i guess.
Definitely don't need low range in sand - but traction control is too intrusive in Hi Range. The ideal solution would be some sort of system to disable traction control completely. Thanks for watching!
For some reason all the Jimny's I have seen online for sale have a basic entertainment unit I'm UAE. Do you know why there's a difference? The car you are testing is it from Suzuki?

You wouldn't know by any chance when they will be getting it back on stock would you? Seen it on Dubizzle for 80k to 100k for the manual version which is just crazy!!

In addition to a proper ABS/Traction/Stability disconnect, please can Suzuki add a manual shifting option on the autobox? It would help when off-road.
The auto works fine actually - it locks in either 1 or 2 which is all you need offroad
In Europe this comes with a touchscreen by Suzuki (not some Chinese company), push button start, cruise control and auto climate control
Sadly, we're not in Europe!

If one or two wheel diagonaly off the road it using abs for kicking torque to other wheel.
I am sure there is hack for the ABS/Traction control....ABS fuse, or perhaps a switch to kill the connection on the speedo sensor

A stretch Jimny wouldn't be a kei car and receive tax benefits in Japan

It should be widely available in stock now in the UAE according to the last update Suzuki had for me - check with the showroom.
