So sad The Farewell wasn't even nominated for any Oscars, it was a brilliant film with an all Asian cast. It's like the academy can only recognize only 1 Asian themed film for the Oscars ( Parasite) and sadly one Actor/ Actress of color Cynthia Erivo for Harriet was nominated this year in the acting category.
There have been plenty of seasons where multiple non-white people were nominated.
The Academy-headed by a BLACK WOMAN-does not sit down as a small and elitist board to decide the nominees. They hand out INDIVIDUAL ballots to HUNDREDS of people that ANONYMOUSLY votes for their favorites.
Quit being a race baiting nit-picker.
P.S. The first non-white Best Director nominee was Asian, the first non-white Best Director winner was Asian, and there have been plenty of Asian productions to win the Best Foreign Language Film prize.
