My friend, if you don’t mind me saying this, the reason you’re having so much trouble throwing the yo-yos is because of your technique. You’re throwing the yoyo with your palm down. Always throw the yoyo with your palm up and make sure it has fully left your hand before turning your hand over to catch it. Also, when holding the yoyo in your hand palm up, make sure the string is going from your finger to the yoyo over the top of the axle, not under it.

The best beginner responsive yoyo for the money you'll find is the Yoyofactory Whip. It's only 5.99 and I learned everything from trapeze to brain twister to barrel rolls to double or nothing with it. Great value.

hell yeah! You are one 100 percent right my friend!! I completely agree. and even playing the whip unresponsive is actually a lot of fun and works well, too. i keep a little yoyo "store" in my room and i am fully stocked with them lol...for all you younger kids, you can get yoyo factory whip at Hobby Lobby! How cool! I am one of the few who can't STAND the spinstar/snapshot/plus (all same yoyo, they keep changing name), whatever else name it has lol, it's a dangerous yo-yo, it snags a lot, especially if you are a beginner. also, replay pro comes responsive* now so ???. Also, poolarity - please don't think I'm hating, I absolutely LOVED your video and agree with most of what you are saying.

@@vision821k4 Right! Since that post I made a month ago I have learned many more complicated tricks on the whip. I am going to get a second one very soon so I can make my current one unresponsive since I wore down the response pads that protrude out a little. It's the most fun and longest lasting fun you can have for $6!! I have been thinking about trying the responsive replay. I really like responsive yoyos a lot. Another amazing responsive yoyo is the Duncan Freehand One.

Even a "toy" unresponsive yo-yo needs to be thrown down with a flick of your wrist. My Duncan Butterfly slaps back to my hand with lots of velocity. It looks like you're just dropping it, or pushing it down with your hand, and that doesn't generate the power it needs to climb back up - It can't come up any faster than you throw it down - that's physics.

For any beginner...don't "Patty Cake" the yo-yo like he did on the video. You want to get a lot of torque by having you palm up and whipping your wrist down.

Watching this just to see what someone would say about the best beginner yoyo, id say the spinstar is best i was hoping this would show me some that i should look into but i kinda have all except the magic yoyo and yomega, one of the comments recommended the whip and im just gonna say that if its yoyofactory its guaranteed to be good at this point. Youre looking for butterfly style yoyos but the blackcat by yoyofactory is good too and more in line with the looping play style, i would say i get better response from the black cat than the spinstar in up and down play, and i havent lubed my blackcat yet for more response but i have for the spinstar. Thats just my 2 cents on it
