My wife is my light ,when I came home from Iraq 2003 I was a mess thought my wife was going to leave me. but here we are 22 yrs later with 2 grown young men who i'm proud to call my sons. to my fellow Veterans especially Vietnam Veterans ....welcome home.
After some life struggles between my wife and I, this song came on the radio, She sobbed uncontrollably and I got a lump in my throat. Ever since my divorce and my depression and anxiety at a constant high lately several times I’ve contemplated suicide but the one thing that has saved my life twice was my son he doesn’t know it but he’s the only good and pure thing that I have that keeps me from falling and living to see the next daylight and that I’m never alone he’s always with me to help me up again.. when I heard this song the first time I was like that’s totally my little boy and he’s only 4 years old and I love him to the moon and back so thanks guys

Its amazing how God gives so many powerful gifts to humans to help elevate, inspire and heal others, and they don’t even know they are doing it Amen .. and a lot of them had struggles in the past and could’ve went completely dark, continuing to hurt themselves and others and instead they evolve, alchemize the dark energy to light and express that to others that were in dark places so they can also be healed

I am 57. This song hit home. Last few years, this song helped with my situation. Did some moving. Family took me in to help me get back on my feet. Needed them and grateful they were there. Laid off from job after 25 years. Had to go thru a divorce and sell my house. Moved to another city and found I couldnt find a place to live at my sisters town. Son took me in another city. I know have a small apartment in same city. Very grateful and wont ever forget the help I got.

Nobody is perfect he must have some type of back up in place if he loses track with the 50,000 people screaming in his face and an incredibly sensitive mic in his face. That’s a lot of pressure even if it is a typical day for him.
I hope Brent & the amazing Gents in Shinedown truly realise what a difference they make in SO MANY peoples lives!! Even in our darkest moments we will always have music, it will always be there to fire us up, focus us, clear our minds, be our shoulder to cry on. The lyrics in this hit SO HARD! Currently going through cancer treatments, this song has helped me get me through. It brings me to tears whenever i hear it.
After losing my brother and father and almost losing my mother over the past year and a half, this song really hit me hard. It sums up what I didn’t know how to say to my children and boyfriend. Without them I never would have seen the daylight.
