  • I've owned the Flipbelt for about two months now. I was excited for this product, but have found a few issues along the way.
In this video, I briefly highlight those two issues. It will probably be the belt I use for day to day running, but not in races.

I keep toying with the idea of a flip belt but haven't ever bought one. Nice to see some balanced thoughts on it 👍🏻

Maybe I'm being picky, because no one else seems to find it a problem, but I have found it really fussy to get into. My other belt has a kangaroo pouch and is much easier. I go to Spain for a large chunk of the summer and I can only imagine it being like a giant sweaty sponge around my waist after a few miles!

Good review, thanks for sharing, mate! I use a belt like this from Salomon and I'm very happy with it. Using it for more than 2 years already... Cheers!

Yeah, it's funny what you settle on 😊

I have no problem getting stuff in or out of my flipbelt. I never run with gloves though, so I can feel the opening without looking. I also dont feel the weight of the band. At all.

Yeah, I can imagine it would be easier without gloves 😊

100% agree on them adding texture around the opening. Would make a night and day difference in being able to get our fingers in there quicker. Not rubber or silicone (that would would make it harder to slide things in and out), just a different texture and yeah, a bright color or reflective piece around the openings.
Otherwise a very comfortable belt that I mainly keep phone and key in. So generally don’t access the stuff till the end of the run.

I'm glad it's not just me! Every review seems to be so positive. It did its job though, but a few tweaks would make it perfect 👌

I've always wondered about these... Do you find it restrictive on your chest?

@@IRunDaily so its tight but not too tight, there is a place to hold your phone and cards, keys and a gel or two. i think its great and i know its on offer at the moment direct from their website (when i checked monday)

I’ve never used a flip belt, only in-built pockets in the shorts or a Naked band.
The Naked band is ace (although you need to get the sizing correct)

Missed this! Yeah, I've airways wanted to try the Naked band... Next time!

I have the elite edition and the Zipper version. It's hard to get stuff out like a phone to change music when moving. I have to stop or store it in my jacket. 😕

I'm glad it's not just me because everyone seems to love them! I'll stick with my Solomon Pulse belt!

Which is better elite or zipper and why?

Have you tried the zipper version? If so how does it compare?

    • @IRunDaily

I've not tried the zipper. My main issue is that I don't think a side opening is particularly great (unlike the salomon which opens from the top like a kangaroo pouch). The zipper might make it easier, but I'd buy the Solomon again over the flip belt.

Good to hear your thoughts on this. My partner just bought something similar and doesn't like it at all, just sits weirdly on the hips and seems to interupt hip movement!

Yeah, I didn't day that actually, but it is a bit snug. Maybe I just lucked out on the salomon pulse belt, but it just 'fits'. I don't even notice it on now.
