I am a Honda Accord fan and owned all the V6L Accord (top of the range) from the 6th until the current 9th gen V6L. Sadly, the 10th, we only got the 1.5T and 2.0Ti (not 2.0T) but I am glad finally we get it in our market as most countries won't get the 11th gen and also we have better trim than the USDM version. Price is a lot more expensive but still cheaper than Indonesia which nearly 100K for the same trim. This is an excellent vehicle. My issues are the high price, limited service centres in inconvenient locations, a likely lack of tech support for this hybrid system. Also for me a low riding sedan is not what I want anymore.

Great point. If you are okay with buying secondhand, it’s certainly worth considering for a sedan especially, as they’re not known for holding their value as well as utes or SUVs.
A new fourth-generation hybrid powertrain will motivate the upper portion of the lineup. It's much the same as the hybrid system we first fell for in the 2024 Honda CR-V, with a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors.
I owned a V6 Accord during the 1990’s that I loved, was well built, comfortable and drove so well. This new Accord looks well designed but with deficits that shouldn’t exist at the price asked. It seems competent and capable and drives well. I wonder what the pure EV range is? An interesting review as always. Thanks.

I don't see myself buying an accord after retirement. It's huge with low seats and a confusing central controller. This car is marketed in Asia as an executive car driven by a company driver. The boss seats at the back and gets great leg room, a reading lamp while he can pull down the window shade to show his face to security guards without winding down a tinted window. Always a fan of Honda. But Honda has had some issues with their pricing recently. Look, Honda and other established brands are in trouble of selling their cars in China which is a huge market for car manufactures, and they used to sell tons there. Almost all the non-Chinese brands are offering big discounts these days which made them way cheaper than the ones in Australia. I can't stop thinking that they might have to purposely raise their prices (a lot) in markets like Austrlia to balance out their revenue. I would choose the base model ES300h (74k) over this Honda RS. The 2 cars serve the same purpose to me which are laid-back road cruizers other than sports sedans. I'm an ES owner myself, and I think the interior finish and the quiteness of the ES is a class above the Accord. If I want to switch to another large sedan, I would personally go for the Sonata for its powertrain and sportiness. If I have to choose a Honda, currently only the CRV makes a little sense to me even it's still over priced.

One reason the softer-riding cars (Camry, Lexus - even Cadillac) sell here is the rough condition of American roads - potholes, expansion joints, etc. Not everyone is driving on smooth, flawless pavement (as you were in your video).
That really isn’t expensive so I can only think cars in Australia must be relatively cheap. The new 2024 Toyota Camry isn't here yet (most likely will have a long delivery wait on this new model), whereas these new Honda Accords are!!!! Again, you'll see this car out on our roads!!!! And 3. I disagree that this will be the last Honda Accord? A swansong or something (having already seen designs for the new 2025 Honda Accord). Now more in depth comments; This new Honda Accord Hybrid is clearly the most luxurious expensive Honda (sedan) in Australia. Yes shooting for the old Honda Legend market in Australian. But why oh why oh why and even why? Does Honda continually treat our Australian (RHD similar market to Japan) car market as some sort of third world country? And offer only "1 spec"???? One model???? And a Sports model at that???? And charge us a Luxury car price for it???? Final comments; Your criticism that you think it rides a bit firm for what you expected, well its the bloomin Sports model it should be a bit firm!!!! If it was the Touring version, then all would be justified, its premium price justified. But I agree with you and all here in the comments section, its too expensive for a Sports version. My Highlight; You can select EV mode via a button!!!! The existing Civic Hybrid you cannot, the cars computer always chooses when it powers the car in EV mode or Petrol mode, you can't manually override it.
Manufacturers just don't get it with Australia. No spare no buy. The price of a Honda vehicle these days just means that people look elsewhere. I think Honda priced themselves out of the market some years ago and now are struggling to make the make relevant.
Mums had v6 accords since the late 90’s but won’t ditch her last one….theyve got cheap feeling and just don’t sound right she reckons. If a 83yo lady thinks it’s become an appliance then Honda really has lost its way. And full electric? @Mexxx65 The car itself is good it's just that the pricing and market positioning is ridiculous , and only a Honda tragic might be interested in it 😅😂.
I think that IIHS have crash tested this version of the Accord - and rated it a "Top Safety Pick +". Still way too expensive! I owned a 1976 Accord. Cheap and Cheerful! No longer....
yes it's too expensive why can't they bring out a more luxurious comfort oriented model? what is the point of sportifying everything for a car that is one on the longest on the market? there should not be road noise on a car like this - why can't Honda tune it out?
Buying a Honda car in 2024, you have the Accord and the Accord-mini. I'd say the new Civic is like in the middle between a Corolla and a Camry, and the new Accord is between the Camry and the ES300. Price-wise, I don't mind, since I've had a very shitty experience inside a Camry at the price point of 40k. I'd rather sit in any other Japanese- 60k sedan that is not Toyota-made. You could argue with the Mazda6, but the god awful Skyactiv that they put in their engine sounds like a tractor every cold morning.

You are missing an opportunity to educate your audience on what comes with the car instead of just seeing no spare wheel and thinking that is the end of that.
Oh yeah, you're out in a rural area with a flat tyre and it takes road side assist 3 or 4 hours to turn up to repair your tyre? Or I can change it in 30 mins and be on my way. No spare tyre, no sale for me! (Stupid from Honda)
Thanks mate - I understand your point, and anyone who gets a flat and doesn’t know what to do will be calling roadside assistance anyway, mate. If it was the Touring version, then all would be justified, its premium price justified. But I agree with you and all here in the comments section, its too expensive for a Sports version.
My Highlight;
You can select EV mode via a button!!!! The existing Civic Hybrid you cannot, the cars computer always chooses when it powers the car in EV mode or Petrol mode, you can't manually override it.
Lexus es, vw arteon are the best alternatives
Manufacturers just don't get it with Australia. No spare no buy. The price of a Honda vehicle these days just means that people look elsewhere. I think Honda priced themselves out of the market some years ago and now are struggling to make the make relevant.
Mums had v6 accords since the late 90’s but won’t ditch her last one….theyve got cheap feeling and just don’t sound right she reckons. If a 83yo lady thinks it’s become an appliance then Honda really has lost its way.
And full electric? She cracks up and her old cronies who made the change and now borrow her accord whenever they want to visit the grandkids (she’s in a small town and all kids are in the cities)
I haven't seen a single one of the previous generation so don't understand why this was brought in 😂😂😂
I saw quite a few of the previous model Accord. And expect to see more of this new Hybrid model, as its a far better Hybrid.
@Mexxx65
The car itself is good it's just that the pricing and market positioning is ridiculous , and only a Honda tragic might be interested in it 😅😂.
great car but should be no more than 37k drive away
I think that IIHS have crash tested this version of the Accord - and rated it a "Top Safety Pick +".
Still way too expensive! I owned a 1976 Accord. Cheap and Cheerful! No longer....
It has no transmission! Get the tech facts correct. It's quite unique and very fefined
FROM HONDA SPEC SHEET:
Transmission - Automatic Electric Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT) with steering wheel-mounted deceleration paddle selectors
I lost interest after you mentioned the price 😲 ... but gave you a 👍 for the video
Thanks! Haha
yes it's too expensive
why can't they bring out a more luxurious comfort oriented model? what is the point of sportifying everything for a car that is one on the longest on the market?
there should not be road noise on a car like this - why can't Honda tune it out?
There is no dual zone climate control for that price.
Honda Australia are going down the toilet
Buying a Honda car in 2024, you have the Accord and the Accord-mini. I'd say the new Civic is like in the middle between a Corolla and a Camry, and the new Accord is between the Camry and the ES300. Price-wise, I don't mind, since I've had a very shitty experience inside a Camry at the price point of 40k. I'd rather sit in any other Japanese- 60k sedan that is not Toyota-made. You could argue with the Mazda6, but the god awful Skyactiv that they put in their engine sounds like a tractor every cold morning.
I remember Beastboys dressed like FBI
As much as I love Hondas, its 20K too expensive.
Honda has officially lost it. 48000 $ for Civic and 68000 for Accord? They probably live in a unicorn universe …
To be fair the civic is now the size of the 2010 accord, but I agree Honda needs a reality check
@@robertbruce2182 look I understand inflation went up and all shit but to jump from low to mid 30000 $ to almost 50000 $ price range is a bit ridiculous …
Genesis G80 trumps them all for me
who is buying sedans nowadays apart from taxi, uber, didi driver? LOL.
25k overpriced, at least
Wow, you know most people are having to pay $40k for a Corolla or Mazda3, right?
Soon, all pricing will come down when you get 12k electric cars
Honda is really a joke in Australia now.
Lack of spare is ridiculous and cost honda sales.
I haven't needed a spare for 20 years
I think they are putting these ridiculous prices on their cars so that people don't use it for Uber, it's a marketing strategy on their part
LOL, I don’t think so mate.
Lol id pick top spec byd seal with 520hp.
I can't get my head around the way the seal looks on the road but I can't shake it off from the top spot of my shortlist.
That front looks so ugly for a Lexus priced Honda
Hey Matt you keep doing the same spiel about no spare tyre blah blah maybe mention that the car eg this Honda comes with free roadside assistance for tyre repair, petrol fill up, towing to nearest Honda dealership and more.
I did mention the roadside assist in the ownership section. I’m not going to detail the specifics for things like that. People only have so much attention span.
But hey. It's a nice car
$35,000
Maybe in two years...
Honda has lost its mojo and the plot for many years now. Design and innovations all downhill. Definitely lost my interest ever since they change direction from the Euro Accord
Just dont buy Honda. How long will they manage to stay in Australia?
Wrong Accord, they should have bought back Euro Accord or amrrican TLX. This Yank Tank is for Americans only
I like it.
Nice car but too much
There is absolutely nothing “wow” about this vehicle. Boring looks, Honda’s fixed price model, a market of dying sedans, this will be one big flop.
this trim looks ugly compared to the North American hybrid touring trims
Even the legendary Type R got ass-kicked and beaten up to the ground by the Chinese lync 03, and hey the Chinese cars are way cheaper and hey better techs and hey better quality and hey longer warranty. Honda is dead, and remember Honda Aussies are not idiot hey 😂
At this price, just buy an EV and benefit from incentives as well. Don’t be a dummy.
Okay mate.
pathetic brand. its the question of WHEN they are gonna leave Aus, not IF anymore
It's overpriced and not that good looking...sorry Honda, it's a pass for me..
I'm sure they'll cry themselves to sleep. :D
Won't buy a complex hybrid, and unreliable cvt at ridiculous price
Honda 👎
Ridiculously overpriced. Honda, go whistle dixie.
Honda is really a joke in Australia now.
