The way people spoke about this, I thought it was going to be a train wreck, but it was still pretty ok. Cha cha doesn’t fit his personality, but he still did the choreography the best he could, and I admire him for giving it his all.
I feel like cha cha could either be someone’s best style or worst. You can tell Stephen is a gymnast cause he’s very stiff. I know that’s kinda hard to break out of. But honestly it wasn’t that bad.

I felt like he was in time with the music and his steps matched with Rylee's, this was filled with content & so much fun to watch!! I'm also glad he was able to redeem himself with the tango! UPDATE: The more I watch it, the more I love it?? like again, not his best dance, but I'm kind of obsessed!

Everyone talks about Ilona and the stereotypes she faces, but Stephen faces those as well. I wish all couples could have additional coaching. Like Mark helping last week. I will admit I am definitely biased towards Stephen but I really enjoyed this. He may not be the best technically and I know that but man to see Stephen from week 1 til now you cam see his improvement and I just love his enthusiasm and how he has learned to enjoy dancing in the process. Also the friendship he and Riley have developed is so cute!
Stephen and Joey definitely do the most actual challenging dance content. I still think Stephen has shown the most improvement over the course of the show!! I love them so much! All my votes for Stephen! 🙌🏻🫶
People don’t fully appreciate that a) Stephen and Rylee have a very sibling-like dynamic, so “sexy” dances will never quite land because their chemistry is just not aligned that way; and b) Stephen’s eyesight and light sensitivity literally has prevented him from getting a driver’s license, so strobe lights could seriously hinder his performance. Rylee as a 19 year old pro is doing such good work trying to make him comfortable and accommodate him. They deserve the win just for the perseverance on both ends making things work.
For any Stephen haters… go away! He tried his best with this dance and I don’t care if people disagree with me. Keep it to yourself if it is negative towards him. He deserves to be in the finale and win. So he messes up a bit who cares. It might have been the lights and his sensitivity to them. ❤ I love you Stephen.

There are 2 for sure, but he’s on par with Ilona, going back and forth on who has a better night, and he’s 100% better than Danny, who doesn’t dance. He deserves to be in the finale, despite a slightly rough night. Winning probably is too much, but let’s not act like he’s not been the third best dancer, on average, all season. One night doesn’t just cancel that all out. He earned his finale spot, and I would still love to see him make top 3.

i thought this dance was bad bad from what some people have been saying abt his dance but just like his charleston it wasnt even that bad lmfao and to the people saying he wouldve gotten eliminated today no he would not cuz even if he had the lowest score this week he probably had enough votes that surpassed some front runners so they just went with a five couple finale like cmon BOTH him and ilona were bottom 2??? be so for real
Right? Danny hardly even danced. Yeah, he can lift. Good for him. But he needs to dance! Stephen puts his heart and soul into every dance and always has difficult choreo. Same with Ilona's Paso. There was no difficulty to that compared to Stephen's! None! Wish the judge's would acknowledge that. Not one of Ilona's dances are 10 worthy to me.
I know they’re in the semifinals and a lot is expected. But I feel like this cha cha was more complicated than other contestant’s cha chas and that needs to be taken into consideration. It’s really just not his style.
Oh man…I love Stephen, but this hurt to see. He seemed kind of nervous, stiff, off-balance, and out of his comfort zone. He has improved so much in general, and he seems great at the “stiffer” dances and even rocked his contemporary, but I’m surprised they didn’t address his stiffness in the Latin dances sooner. Even in the semi-finals, I think this was overscored. I’m still happy to see his enthusiasm though! You can just tell they’re having a good time and he’s just happy to be there.
I knew the latin dances were going expose the stiffness and lack of hip action in Stephen and Danny their great at lifts and tricks but actually rhythmical movement is tough they just look too stiff all the time. Still Stephen is such a sweetheart I'm glad he and Rylee get a chance to be in finale and show off one last time but they need to figure away to attach his glasses to his head so he can flipping see and not worry about them flying off
I've noticed some disagreement in the comments here. As a first time watcher of DWTS, my observation is that scores are multi-faceted. That is why a very popular contestant can win - although they may not be the technically best dancer. Whether someone wins includes: 1. Votes; 2. growth and improvement in multiple ways; 3. accurately performing the technical aspects of a dance; and 4. emotions induced by the performance. I base that on the comments of judges and the hosts. To all of you hardcore DWTS fans, am I wrong? Stephen is the winner for me.

Probably. He definitely improved but he's still very stiff. I think that he's great in slower dances, but in fast dances like that, it shows a lot. I think it's also Riley's fault, while she's a great dancer and did some nice choreography this season, she still struggle to do adapt to his strength and weaknesses. I would like to see her with someone like Joey, just to see the difference. So yeah, if a couple had to be eliminated this week, it would be them. They're the weakest couple, and I think their chances to win is very low. But I definitely think that he's one of those stars that improved a LOT, if I had to say who improved the most this year it's him and Ilona, no doubt about this!
I think voters would have saved him because he is the most fun to watch. If you look at the number of views videos have gotten (flawed but still could be revealing) - he hit 1 million on his first dance and no one else came remotely close to that. Maybe 400K to 500K at best for the others. :-)

Soo stiff and no musicality at all.... I preferred watching the band in the background than Stephen doing clompy steps....
I felt so bad for Rylee. Latin dance is her specialty, and she didn't get to have any fun with it. I was sitting there like, "No. No. No! Nooooooo!" 😂
